I'm basically posting to follow- I've just recently had mini sling for my bladder issues and am one week away from running again. My procedure is no where near as extensive as this one- but am going to be training for a second 1/2, and a full marathon this year. I just am following for the information, but want to wish you…

I realize this is an older post, but wanted to add my comments anyway. I just had a mini sling procedure/surgery in December 2012 and am now a week away from exercise again. I have gained 3 pounds (Christmas didn't help with temptation), but I'm not super worred, I am happy with the results so far and know that this will…

just about the same although I only burn about 648 an hour with running, I'm a little slower.

I had bloodwork and this is the one thing that came back, exactly this.

I've tried a few, but stick with runkeeper, not because I think it is the most accurate but because I like the website. I have several runs and I've measured them with my car.. I just edit my runs if I really want to know precisely what I've run and how fast. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me that much... I know that I'm…

"A medium banana is fat-free and provides around 110 calories. A rich source of important nutrients, bananas provide around 450 mg of potassium, 3 g of dietary fiber, 1 g of protein and 15 percent of the daily value of vitamin C. Of the 30 g of carbohydrates contained in a medium banana, 8 g come from starch and 19 from…

Sounds normal to me, if you really want to run just tell yourself to keep going, get use to a certain distance (intervals are great) and slowly change the intervals from more walking to less walking. One day you will look down and realize you are running a full mile or more. I would encourage you to get off the treadmill…

I'm not going to tell you it is high or it is low, you will need to do the calculations based on height and weight and age. I don't use a monitor I do it the old fashioned way. I rarely check my heart rate at this point unless I've done a very long run, or a very hard run, I check it about 3 times a month. I've been to the…

I don't really gauge my running in days anymore, in the beginning I thought, "I'll run everyday, because then I can be considered a real runner." I started in January of this year (restarted for the millioneth time), and I think if I kept up that mentality I'd be done for... I (at the advice of runners on MFP and inperson…

We decided 15 (or for us the start of freshman year in high school)... Why? We thought it important for our children to learn to use and navigate the social media site before we send them off into the world.

I plan on enjoying the Holiday, but not necessarily over-eating. I'm having surgery after Thanksgiving and will be banned from running, biking, aerobics, and weight-lifting for 6 weeks. I will be able to swim two weeks after, and my Dr. told me to count on afew pounds (maybe up to 5). I'm really just thinking, moderation…

http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-243-297--1102-0,00.html I think is must be different for eveyone, but I feel the best when I'm on my longer slow (I'm slow anyway, but slow for me) runs. I've said it before, but honestly when it hits me... Ijust feel like I own the world, and it is just so darn peaceful

I gave each of my four children a taser and then I told them if I stop moving or start eating something I'm not supposed to eat, to zap away :)

I'll have to say I agree, because since I started running my breasts have all but dissapeared, lol.

I started out with Walmart's Danskin 'capris' exercise pants they were 11 ish dollars and with a large tshirt I felt comfortable working out with them. They weren't too tight, and a small investment at the time, I've gone down a few sizes and bought a 'more expensive' pair and quite truthfully I like the danskin better.

I noticed changes for sure, but what really surprised me (maybe not) was after months of eating well, I ate at Mcdonald's and had the worst (way worse than the slight changes with healthy eating) stomach issues ever... pretty much made me realize I just didnt want to put that into my body.

This is also why I am not a twilight fan.. I have four daughters and I want to see young girls and women as strong... I am unlikely to read any of them.

Interesting, and I don't have any factual input just a personal experience story. I've been running (again) since January and have not used supplements. I recently had bloodwork which showed I was very, very low in vitamin D and that is after coming off the sunniest summer, spring and fall Seattle has ever had.. it made me…

Bumping, just to be apart of the discussion. :)

Before I lost weight this was an issue for me and I just have to say I bought those yoga, work out pants a little snugger than they should have been, the ones with the fold down top and I just didn't fold it down, it added extra support. you could maybe use a tube top for extra support... do what you have to to keep going!

I wear a 7 and all of my running shoes have been 7.5, I wear Saucony now but used to wear Brooks. Can you have your feet fitted?

Oh for sure.

My running shoes are the most expensive thing I've purchased for myself; but it is the gift that keeps on giving!

I have a crazy schedule during the school year, I run when I have time.... on weekends that means getting up at 4:30 am so I can spend the weekend with my family, on wed, and thurs I run while my kids are at functions (they've gotten use to me dropping them off in my workout clothes, and 'enjoying' a sweaty smelly ride…

So encouraging! Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment (not just your marathon, but all your other races, and all your gains, and all your losses), I hope you have many more.

I have spent all of this year training and building mileage for a 1/2 marathon to be run in December, I've also done a handful of shorter races. I really am trying to build my base and am beginning to be comfortable (9 months into this) with the idea of a long run being 10 miles.. it is beginning to feel like just one of…
