I try to! I do enough to still lose roughly .5 lb a week, no sense in only eating 1200 calories for sure.

Excess fat and protein are also stored as fat, this is why it is simply calories in being less than calories out.

To the OP, I've lost 115 pounds in one year counting calories, and the majority of my calories (45-55%) have come from carbohydrates.

No. Eating clean does not equate to eating low carb or low fat.

I don't have cheat anything, I eat what I want in moderation as long as it fits in my calorie and macro goals.

If I only ate 1000 calories a day, I would be mad, and hungry, and I would probably be craving carbs as well. Really, you may try eating more during the day, with emphasis on fats and protein.
