What's Stopping You?
No one has posted here in awhile, so I am going to try to resurrect this group to the best of my ability. Confession is good for the soul, admittance is the first step to freedom. Oh, if all it took were good intentions to be successful, no one would be overweight. Starting is the easy part, the challenge comes from…

Body Recomposition: Straight Maintenance or Calorie Cycling?
I'm attempting a body recomp. I am 5'11", 162 lbs at 15% body fat. As far as my diet goes, my macros are set to 40/30/30. Should I eat at maintenance both on off days and training days, or would I get better results if I calorie cycled?

Question about weight lifting and body fat percentage
In 2012, I had much success with MFP, losing a total of about 125 pounds. I am 5'11", 165 lbs and sitting anywhere between 12 and 16% Bodyfat (depending on the calculator I use). Unfortunately, during my weight loss, I didn't lift weights, I just ran. If I could go back and do things differently, I would have lifted from…

Looking For New Friends
I've been using MFP since 2012, and have had TONS of success with it. I have lost 120 pounds by faithfully logging my food, eating healthy, and working out. I wasn't too faithful in 2013 with MFP with job changes and moving, but in somehow was able to maintain my weight and my exercise regiment. I'm back now, preparing for…

Half Marathon Training and New Friends
In 2012 I successfully lost 120 lbs using MFP and by taking up running. I've successfully completed 5Ks, 10Ks, and Half Marathons. I live in Houston, so during the summer there aren't many races due to the heat and humidity. I also took a break from MFP during that time, but now that race season is around the corner, I've…

Cutting Calories During Injury?
I run on average about 25 miles a week, and I eat roughly 3200 calories a day in order to maintain my weight, I recently suffered a pulled muscle, and I cannot run for at least a week. As I am not prone to injury, this is new for me. Should I cut back the amount of calories I eat for a week since I will not be able to work…

The Most Important Thing You Have Learned From MFP
What's the most important thing you have learned on MFP? Mine is that you don't have to starve yourself to lose weight! Actually, it's much better if you don't!

10 months, 120 pounds gone!
The before picture is in December of 2011. I was 285 pounds, pre-hypertensive, and very unhappy. I was starting to develop pains in my right knee from carrying all the weight that I was carrying. I was afraid that, if I continued down the same path, I would need knee replacement surgery by age 35. So, in February 2012, I…

Lowering Body Fat Without Losing Weight.
I am currently 5'11", 170 pounds, and BF% of 14-15%. I would like to get to 10% Body Fay without losing anymore weight. I know lifting will help with this, but I am not too familiar with lifting. I run a lot, I love running half-marathon's and I'm not willing to give that up. Is it even possible to get my Bod Fat…

Changing your weekly weight loss goals.
Right now I'm currently set to lose 2lb a week. However, I know the more weight I lose, the harder it may be to maintain a 2lb per week weight loss. Right now I have 68 lbs until I reach my goal. When is a good time to adjust my weekly weight loss goal to 1.5 or 1 lb per week?

Measuring food
Hey everyone! Tonight I had some penne pasta for dinner, and as I was weighing it I encountered a slight problem. I used a measuring cup and measured out two cups of pasta. I then weighed the pasta on my food scale, and it said the pasta was on 10 oz! It should have been 16. The pasta was cooked at the time ( I know it's…
