  • I'm open to making new friends here - to motivate each other in this journey!
  • That's a really positive thing for me to look forward to, because even though I have my meal times generally planned out, it's so tempting to snack and get not-so-healthy options between meals. Will be nice to look forward to my body telling me when to eat, sometime in the future. ;)
  • The morning news on the TV. Honestly I'd rather be watching reruns of Monk on Netflix, or more Drop Dead Diva or Sherlock. ;)
  • I'm a bail bonds agent at a corporate "store-front" office downtown, we post bail bonds in several states. One night a guy comes in, yelling, screaming, telling ME I stole his car and his debit card. ... .... I had no idea who this man was, and I had been at work all night. He was arrested after HE called the police on ME.…
  • Wow, everyone has such interesting lives! I'm glad I'm not the only night-walker in here. haha :P Also, I wanted to reply to this as I read about the sleeping schedules. My sleep schedule used to be all OVER the place when I first started 3rd shift about 3 years ago, but (unless there is something else I'm scheduled for…
  • Great idea by making one! :D I don't know why I was looking for one tonight at the same time, but it's a great group! Yes indeed, quite an interesting job I must say. I really do love my job, my boss, everything about it - just wish I had less long nights. :P Protein is a great idea, what kinds of protein do you eat, by…
  • Oh gosh, I totally hear you! As for me, my categories on my "Food Journal" have been adjusted. I tried to do the "Breakfast" "Lunch" etc ... couldn't even stick to it. Now my categories are broken into 4-hour increments. 12A-4A, 4A-8A, etc. You can take a look if you'd like! That way my brain can more easily wrap around a…
  • Nice to see this group :D I work as a bail bonds agent, 3rd shift, long hours and (usually) crazy customers. I snack and snack and snack, especially during those early morning hours when there may be nothing going on, and I feel myself starting to crash. Hope to see more faces here! Would love to swap ideas and things to…
  • Yeah, my BMI sucks. I'll leave it at that. Nowhere near my "healthy" range yet. Plus I don't have many good muscles to blame things on.
  • I think the next person got it right, fireman sounds more accurate, lol
  • Not sure why, but that's the first occupation that popped in my head, lol. Hey, Air Traffic Controller isn't bad. That would be a pretty good job. ;)
  • Coheed and Cambria was amazing in January 2009, I think it was. Great concert!
  • Thank you for responding and for your words. I'm sorry you've had to go the surgery/meds route! From what little I've read, it seems pretty terrible. :( Yes, this is what I plan on doing. Trying to, as far as I know, get into remission at this point. I don't know how the meds I'm taking work, unfortunately the generic…
  • Thank you both for the information! Yes, I've been to a GI specialist, had the colonoscopy, etc. I do believe they did a stool sample and a celiac test, they are doing a secondary blood test tomorrow to just check on some other things (not even sure what, this has been a whirlwind!). I don't HATE being on meds, if I have…
  • Nice to meet you and welcome to the journey! You'll have fun meeting new friends here, people who can relate to you. I'm starting my walking journey yet again, after falling off the wagon with some health problems lately. Feel free to add me for encouragement back and forth! Started my "walk to run" journey 2 days ago,…
  • I'd love to join! I have about 80 to lose altogether, still have around 58 or so to go! :)
  • I would love to do this, too! Usually I just calculate how many minutes a month that I exercise, but I'll start calculating mileage - If I can remember to! lol
  • I've lost around 20, but have about 60 more to go, ideally! Feel free to add, I'm pretty active on here! :) Good luck and God Bless!
  • I never have, but it would be neat!
  • CRAP, now I'm craving pizza, too. :P I agree though, most of my cravings these days turn out to be a bit of a letdown. Which is a disappointment to me. :( Ah, well!
  • Quick question (silly I know) Are you guys doing the entire hour? I think if I did, I'd die. :P But is that eventually the goal, I'm guessing?? Thanks ^_^
  • Just starting this as of today... we'll see how this goes! :)
  • This group is great! I'm 27 years old (Why did I just have to stop and think about that, haha) and have been overweight for about 7 years now... the pounds just kept adding on and nothing would stop them. (because of bad food choices and no exercise). I'm ready to take my life back after several health scares and get this…
  • I'd love to see the pounds drop off of me doing this, (also, oops I know I'm joining this a few days late!) but I'm more concerned with my stamina and overall fitness. But I'll make a goal! I want to lose 10 pounds in June, and I'd love to be able to feel a difference when I workout. Less panting, less frustration, etc.
  • I completely agree with you here (Sorry, obviously didn't read the entire thread, I chose to stop at this point) but yes, walking is most definitely exercise! As of this point, it's completely and entirely how I lost the 20 pounds I've lost so far (mixed of course with only a semi-healthier diet). Even when I used to only…
  • up to 148 minutes now.... need to get crackin' if I want to get to my goal!
  • There is my ticker for the first week of the month. I know it's only 94 Minutes, but to me, who used to HATE exercise, that's a good long time for me to be up off my butt. ;) I've been measuring minutes lately, but should probably someday measure miles. Good luck everyone!!
  • Ah, well. Maybe next month!
