I actually couldn't believe she did that-I was rather surprised by it. But it made me think about the benefits of using them.

Try to ignore them and just keep doing what you're doing. I had coworkers who would look at me sideways and laugh because I would measure out my foods and came to work with a lunch box full of small containers to assemble my meals together, but my journey is not about them. So you just have to keep sticking with it and…

I don't have any advice, but I was interested in reading the post. I started TapOut XT today and am a little nervous about it, but I AM looking forward to seeing what kind of results I can get from doing it since I've never taken my body under this type of intensity before, but I surprisingly kept up with the video today.…

I too am trying to get slimmer over the next 10 months... but the kicker is I'm also the Bride AND bridesmaid all in the same weekend! Please feel free to add me on MFP. I haven't started wedding dress shopping yet BECAUSE of the fact that I'm not where I want to be physically.

I like nuts (usually almonds or pistachios), baby carrots, protein shake, pickles, turkey pepperoni, and string cheese

I did the Dirty Girl Mud Run! I and a blast with that race. And I'm signed up for Run or Dye this year--I have heard good things about it.

I love coffee myself! I usually get the sugar free creamer and I ACTUALLY measure out my creamer--like I use a tablespoon to pour creamer into my coffee. It has helped me cut back on calories TREMENDOUSLY because I can now eyeball/use a spoon to measure creamer when I go to restaurants. And I realize I don't need AS much…

Awesome! Congrats! Keep up the hard work!

I pretty much use it in place of rice--so I'll do Black beans, quinoa and cheese. Or use it in a taco or something. Or make it just salt, pepper, and garlic to eat with my chicken. I don't do anything too fancy with it

I can relate to most posters. I lost 50lbs in 2008-2009 (which I had been able to keep off until this year) and joined MFP to help me get through my plateau to lose my last 20ish lbs... They haven't budged...I've been bouncing back and forth for the past 2 years it seems. I get all the way down to 198...and then a month…

I disagree--depending on the DVD, they will guide you through the proper moves-I know the MTV Yoga DVD I recommended has an Introductory session that is JUST for going over all the moves & they have a person during the workout to show you all the variations (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I started doing Yoga on a DVD…

Hmm...I will definitely have to look into those! I have an MTV Yoga DVD (http://www.amazon.com/MTV-Yoga-Kristin-McGee/dp/B00006JDTH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360767336&sr=8-1&keywords=mtv+yoga) and I LOVE it! It's the best Yoga workout I've done and close to what you would get in a class [I miss my regular yoga class :( ],…

On the days I have a big breakfast (like my trip last weekend to Cracker Barrel), I usually come home and sleep most of the day away, so by the time I wake up to eat again and/or workout, it's already like 4pm, so I don't really stress much. On days when I indulge in a big breakfast like that, it's usually around 10/11am…

Hey: I have a similar lifestyle where I work 3-4 days a week and walk around all day. I have my lifestyle set to lightly active and I don't count work as exercise since it really isn't anything outside of the norm. I DO have a FitBit, so I count my steps and as long as I reach 10K for the day, then I'm not stressing and…

How about instead of wasting time fat-shaming people, we make more efforts to make JUNK FOOD and FAST FOOD cost more than fresh fruits & veggies. It's expensive to lose weight and if you don't have the spare income to afford the healthier stuff, then it becomes harder to lose weight and keep the weight off, without trying…

I definitely would if I could. I'm technically not eligible for the show, but it would be nice to have someone push me to the next level and get me down to my goal weight. I've been struggling with my last 20ish pounds for 2-3 years & it would be nice to get it off once and for all versus bouncing back and forth.

1-Happy Weight was around 191; but happy body was 195-198 2- I'm about 20 lbs from it 3- It's been a year-started 2012 at 191; hit 195-198 mid year 4-At 191 I liked the number; at 195-198 I liked how toned I looked 5-I still feel the goal is feasible to obtain; just requires more diligence/dedication and to stop letting my…

I'm 5'8 & It took me about 2 years to lose 50lbs. I have been on my journey for 4. I started at 253lbs and am down to 200, but been as low as 191 & gained some muscle over the last 2 years. The first two years, I focused on calorie counting and getting deficits. I WANTED to lose weight slowly, as reports say people who…

It's VERY normal for your body's weight to fluctuate DAILY +/- 5lbs even, let alone 3. I wouldn't fret so much over 3lbs...Weight will not only fluctuate because of changes in hormones, but a number of things like weather, the time of day you weigh yourself, and changes in workouts can adjust your weight. I wouldn't freak…

I weigh myself on a weekly basis. For me it helps keep me in control. If I stay around the same number (+/- 3ish lbs), then I'm not worried and I know I'm doing a decent job. When I stop weighing myself regularly is when I start gaining REAL weight (Not just blaoting/water weight). There have been some studies lately…

I have been through this stage. I would recommend taking a look at WHAT you're eating and get a REAL measurement of the amount of calories you need to eat, as well. I had a tough time getting my scale to move and weight-wise was in a year long plateau (photo wise, there is a noticable difference in my shape). I felt like I…

Reality tv and sadly...taking pictures of myself--I RARELY post the photos I take, but I have a hefty collection of photos of myself from posing to doing some of the stupidest stuff ever. And sometimes I am feeling how my body is looking at that moment...or like I got my hair done and took a pic bc I was impressed with how…

To answer this question in completion: I HIGHLY recommend checking out the GI Diet book. Just go to a bookstore or order it. It's like $10 (not too expensive) It gives you a complete list of great sources of protein and carbs. You don't HAVE to go low carb, you just have to find the RIGHT carbs. I was on this for a month…

Ditto on the shoes! They REALLY do make a difference in the world when you have the RIGHT pair of shoes. I used to have REALLY bad knee probs as a result of the wrong shoes. And once you see a specialist 1x, you won't really ever have to see them again as long as you get the info on what type of shoe is right for you. I…

Didn't get a chance to read thru everything, so I don't know if this one was posted yet: You might be a runner if you correct people when they get your milage wrong OR when people claim other races as what they are not. (i.e. My boyfriend sometimes tells people that I ran 5 miles, when it was 8 & I am quick to correct him)…

i have a couple from my 4 year journey--I can't just name one! 1st: I had bought a pair of size 14 goal weight jeans (they were on sale for like $10 at the Gap). I was an 18/20 at the time of purchase. I had them hanging on my closest so I saw them everyday and when I went to try them on for the first time, they were too…

I'm 5'8 and a size 12 now weighing in at 198-200, but I was about a size 14 at around 210-220 from what I can recall.

Check out the book: The GI Diet. It's not some fad diet like you think, it's REALLY about eating healthier for a lifestyle change. And the more you eat veggies, the more you will learn to like them--you just have to retrain your taste buds. I'm a picky eater too, and even pickier now-- I'm picky about WHICH veggies,…

I do something similar to this. I am "strict" Sun-Friday and then Sat I usually allow myself a little leadway to eat unhealthy foods--i usually don't log these days--I KNOW I'm doing it and I KNOW I'm probably going to eat over my calories. But the KEY to having one or two off days is that you don't let it take you off…

I know the feeling as well- I hope something works out for you after your drs appt. I went to my dr about 4 weeks ago about my weight. I'd been on a plateau for almost 2 years--I was losing inches, but not weight--going through a cycle of changing my diet for a couple of months (seeing nothing), then changing my workouts…
