  • Thank you for looking at my diary!!! I do lean on canned vegetables because they travel well to work. I need to cut back on that. Besides peanut butter, I don't think I eat that many sweets or bread. I did Monday because I was so pissed for being up 1.5 lbs. Peanut butter is my achilles heel. Good suggestion on using…
  • thank you
  • Don't handle this with verbal conversations between you and your employer. Put everything in emails and print them out after you send them. Tell them that they deposited into your account twice and ask them how they want to handle it. Put the burden of the situatuation on them. But, make it written communications. If you…
  • Hey thanks for allt he support and encouragement people!!!!
  • I made this over the weekend while out camping with the scouts. Used Hot Pace salsa. It rocked!! Was very easy to do outdoors, so I imagine it would be even easier in the kitchen.
  • I might try this one.... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/ratatouille/
  • That's funny. But, I love HCG too!! It helped me get off to a fast start on my weight loss journey and now I am doing it right. If I can't get under 200 lbs by the first of July, then I will turn to HCG to help knock off the rest by July 31.
  • The same thing happens when hiking. Losing toenails is common when doing serious back country hiking. The force on the toes from going down a mountain puts lots of strain on the toenails. They fall off, but grow back.
  • I had a similar thing happen this weekend. Weighed myself Saturday morning. Then, went on an 8 mile hike with a 35 pound pack on Saturday and a 3 mile hike on Sunday. Ate a bit above normal on Saturday because I burned an extra estimated 3000 calories. Was 5 pounds heavier on Monday. All I can say is accept it and don't…
  • It's frustrating. All of my sugars are from fruit. I need to find a "better" snack I guess. I was eating a banana with breakfast and then an apple as a snack between breakfast and lunch, and then again between lunch and dinner.
  • Thank you! I also modified my diary to track sodium. Found out I was WAY over my limit for the day. To the tune of -1754. That might explain some as well. Will pound the water for the next few days as I return to my normal work out routine. I skipped my work out this am as I was too sore.
  • WOW WOW... I just modified my diary to include Soduim. I was -1,754 for that day. Way over my sodium limit. I must be retaining a bunch of water. I need to keep track and monitor this for the next few days. Thank you for pointing this out!!!!!
  • Thank you. Yes, my muscles are sore. I'm not used to hiking 11 miles with 35 pounds. I'll kick up the water and resume my work out routine tomorrow. I was too sore to hit it today.
  • I haven't measured myself. For me it isn't about the inches, but it is all about the lbs. I am preparing for a hiking trip in August, hence the training this weeked. I have to weigh under 201 for my height or else they won't let me on the trail. I really don't care about inches and am totally focused on weight.
  • That's why it doesn't make sense. I know what the scale read Saturday morning and this morning. I am hoping my body is just hanging onto water or something from the hike. I am going to stay off the scale until Saturday, my normal weigh-in day.
  • There are plenty of commercials that go the other way. Secret..... "Strong enough for a man... but made for a women." How about all those yogurt commercials where the woman is talking on the phone about Boston Cream Pie and Apple Turnovers and the husband in the background looking through the fridge. The majority of…
  • My theroy is... I am raising kids, not grass. I will let the yardwork slide to enjoy activities with the kids. And, the wife and I will let the house work slide in order to fit in more family time. We both put family first, then our workout (which we always manage to get to) and then house/yard work. We power clean and…
  • Ok.... so I've been doing the 1200 calorie thing for the past few weeks, but this thread has helped me see the light that I need to eat more to lose weight. I've changed my goals and thus my targeted caloric intake to match. And, I have started eating close (within 10-50 calories) to my target. My question is... how long…
  • I hope you're right. Going to try it for a few weeks and see what happens.
  • Yes, techinically I need to lose 3 pounds. Maybe a couple more in case their scale weighs a bit higher than mine. I know that the more I lose, then the better I will feel on the trail. It is just so counter intuitive to think I need to eat more to lose weight. But, I am going to try it this week and see what happens. I'm…
  • Actually there is.... I am going on a hiking trip in August. For my height I can't be heavier than 200 lbs. I am at 203 now and can't seem to get below 200. I'd like to be 190 when I hit the trail. If I'm not under 200, then they won't let me on the trail and I would have flushed $1000 down the drain and disappointed my…
  • But what if you have to lose X pounds by a certain date? I don't have the time to do anything long term. I need to drop another 13 pounds in a little over 4 months.
