Sorry .. I was referring to redundancy in the thread title itself ... "currently" and "right now" ... .. although there's no real hate here.

it's perfectly fine to treat yourself now and then, food should be enjoyed! I seriously ran an extra mile the other day just so I could eat a Cadbury Creme Egg.

car drivers who think it's funny to blast the horn even though I'm running on the sidewalk .. teenagers man .. I tell ya. You can include shouting something unintelligible with this too.
-
could also try running with a friend .. sometimes just having someone to talk to while you're out allows you not to think about the time and distance.

pump the breaks haters ... we are dealing with limited facts here. Specifically ... did he say it or is it her perception. Either way the OP and hubby need to have a nice chat .. communication is key.

I agree with the whole thought process of "if you run you're a runner" .. the question for me is why do it if you hate it? I'm sure there are other cardio options you could enjoy (my wife loves Zumba). Or maybe it's a love/hate thing? Regardless, running is a very personal experience because it's just you .. and only you…

I find it pointless to log 3 minutes of activity.

This is what I was thinking. Next time this happens (and hopefully it won't) just smile and say "Thank you so much for looking out for me. What's your secret to such a fantastic physique?" Although judging by his comment you may need to explain that to him.

I have my first coming up in 2 weeks. I am shooting for 1:45. I've been running my 6 mile circuits in the 46-48 range and feel pretty comfortable so I'm hoping I can hold that for the full 13. Good luck to you!

no argument there!

Again, the difference being that common sense in my statement is being applied to to an accepted scientific calculation. Apples to oranges much?

If there is a general acceptance that BMR is what it is (and I think there is enough science to back it up) then isn't it just common sense that eating less than that is a bad thing?

P90X + running 3x a week .. I feel great and am in probably the best shape I've ever been in. I wouldn't recommend doing the full routine out of the gate though. When I first started I used the 3 strength days and substituted my runs for the 3 cardio days.

well done .. go for 200!

in my area farmers market shopping for fruits and veggies seems a fair bit cheaper than the grocery store as well .. you might give that a look if there is something similar where you are.

Interval training is great for beginners. I started running about a year ago and am training for my 1st half marathon in 3 weeks. I am currently logging 22-25 miles a week. I would not recommend running consecutively as I believe the body needs the rest and recovery time but listen to your body and it will tell you what it…
