Thanks girl! It sure is nice to know someone out there really understands! Where do you go to get metabolic testing done? What is involved, and how is that different from calculating your own BMR, TDEE, etc. with the calculators that can be found online? I'm curious now! My next step is to buy myself a heart rate monitor.…

Yep! Maybe we need to publish a public awareness ad letting the guys out there know this! Seems to be a common problem!

I can relate! I dated a guy who was OMG sooooo hot... movie star hot, I think I may have actually swooned the first time I met him! Anyway, the guy could NOT kiss worth a darn! I did try to tell him, once... he would just sorta open his mouth, and place lips on lips... then nothing! It was the strangest thing! Not as bad…

For me, I think kissing is extremely important, and GUYS, come on!!!! Seriously! You LOVED kissing when it was our 3rd date and you thought you might be getting to score! Kisses were on fire! What happened, now that "scoring" is no longer a challenge, you just wanna skip to the good part? That's not cool. My question to…

LMAO!!!!

You can't see my diary? I thought I made it public. I'll check the settings. I am (was) under eating, I know now after everyone here has jumped on me about it ! :blushing: I did my BMR, TDEE, and all those calculations... now I have a better idea how much to eat. But, I was not THAT far under, at 1200. Now I know my BMR is…

I hear you loud and clear about weight training! I intend to add it to my cardio as soon as I am mobile again (meaning auto problems right now). Can't get to the gym & all I have here is two each 3 lb and 10 lb weights... probably could use those, but I'm more comfortable with weight machines at the gym. And with so many…

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: (((HUGS))) THANK you! It's nice to just get a little encouragement! (Not that I don't appreciate the advice, too, I do!)

Thanks, this was very helpful indeed! :)

Let me make a small clarification... My normal weight is 115. I started struggling as I got older, which I know is normal for your metabolism to slow down, but I struggle with periods of eating mexican food & ice cream for months at a time, and end up looking like I do now. I have been thru this cycle before, lost weight…

That's an old picture! I want to get back there again! :p
-
Pics? Should I post pics of my flab? :noway:

Hmmm... something to consider. You bring up something I always wonder about, tho... if you "eat back" all the calories you exercise away, then what's the point? I read about, and hear from trainers, that you must maintain a deficit if you want to lose fat. Does the calculator take that into account? I also recently started…

Thanks :flowerforyou: I never heard that about the incline, but does it really matter that much? I would think that either way it's going to improve your shape. And yes, I know it takes time... I've been thru this cycle before, and have been in really good shape before, but somehow that does not help me today. :ohwell: And…

Good point. I will start keeping closer tabs on my sodium. I usually don't pay too much attention to it, b/c I know it's just water gain, but right now it's messing with my head!

I keep hearing ppl on here talk about this! And I love Jillian Michaels! But right now we don't have a TV set up in the living room, and there is no room in the bedroom for exercise. (Well not that type of exercise anyway! LOL!!)
-
I just noticed I did not answer your question. My current height / weight are 5'6", 128.8 lb. My goal is to be 115 again.
-
Thanks for the encouragement! :) According to your calculation, my calories should be 1,150 - 1,380 max. I do keep an eye on my protein too. I add a scoop of protein to my oats in the morning, and make sure the following meals are at least 1/3 to 1/2 made of lean protein like chicken, turkey or tuna. I have sworn off ice…

Thank you!! :flowerforyou: Yes PMS is part of it, but I am accustomed to gaining and losing a COUPLE of pounds, but not 4 1/2!!! It is probably a combination.
-
I don't know how to explain this, but for me, 1200 IS more than normal! If I eat more, I feel stuffed and bloated! But I'm trying to be a good listener and consider all the possibilities. How would you recommend I get more calories?
-
OK, first of all, I guess I need to change my ticker, because after last week plus this week, I now have 15 pounds to lose, not 10! Or maybe I should just put my goal weight? Plus, I appreciate the advice, and you may be right, but I just don't see how it's possible I am not eating enough. I eat healthy food, I do enjoy…
-
Wow, I did not know that about water weight. That plus pms could be the culprit... Thanks!
-
Thanks, I friended you! :flowerforyou: I think I'm getting enough protein... I mean, I make sure it's at LEAST approximately 1/3 of every meal, if not more... I have done Atkins before, years ago, and I did drop a bunch of weight, but it's just not sustainable for me, and there are lingering questions about the overall…

Has your family ever actually watched The Biggest Loser? Do they not realize that those contestants work out each and every day for HOURS??? Forgive me for being presumptuous, but if you're like an average person here, you probably have a job or something that prevents you from keeping that level of workout schedule.…

Do you like spicy food? How about mixing them with some hot sauce & serving over steamed rice? There are Thai recipes for sardines, but if you don't like burning heat, it might not work...

Hi, I read this last night & been thinking about it. I definitely agree with those who suggest getting psychological help, but also see if you can get a referral to a medical doctor who specializes in eating disorders. Sometimes there are hormonal issues in addition to the psychological ones. I just read an article that…

That is so funny! Disturbing, but funny! I read it to my boyfriend and we laughed! I made a newspaper headline for you: "Serial Salad Salter Stalks Sexy Senoritas in Seattle" Ha, no idea where you actually live, but it had to start with an S!

There are calculators online that can tell you pretty close to exactly how much, you enter your weight & mph. Just google "calories burned walking" or something like that. I'll go look & post again if I find it.
-
I also recommend one of the books by my personal favorite fitness superstar, Jillian Michaels. "Master your metabolism". I'm reading it again for the 2nd time right now. She has a lot of practical, common sense advice, and a diet / exercise plan all spelled out for you. Her theory is that you can eat healthy, DON'T starve…

The only reason my diary says "walking dog, 3.0 mph" is because there is NO exercise in the MFP database for treadmill, 3.0 or 3.5 mph. Or if there is, I have been unable to find it. I'm actually logging treadmill minutes, and usually 45 minutes at a time, (not 5!). And yes I am huffing and puffing and sweating, so yes it…
