  • Yeah, if I can make it through at least a few nights a week, that would be a start!
  • Thanks for the encouraging responses! It helps knowing I can always come here for support. :)
  • Thanks! :)
  • Thanks guys. I truly wish MFP would not announce every time I post a topic in a group. The whole reason I joined this group was to give/receive positive feedback and advice, which you all have been very kind and sincere in here. But anybody who is not a member can also read my comments in here, and reply to it on my…
  • Congrats on losing 24 lbs! That is a great accomplishment. I totally understand your frustration. I'm stuck too! I agree, water is critical. I have learned to love water, and drink it all day long. It really does make a difference. My only cautionary advice, (please take with a grain of salt, since I'm not perfect either)…

  • You know, I just might try that... I know after I brush my teeth, I am more reluctant to eat anything to ruin the feeling.
  • I feel your pain! But you have a good attitude! Stick with it, all this work will pay off soon! I also struggle with eating right when my boyfriend constantly buys snacks and ice cream! It's sooooo hard to turn it down when it's right under your nose...
  • No, I'm nowhere near my cycle. I bloat up really bad then, too, so if it was that, I'd be even worse!
  • Way to go! Keep up the good work!

  • Uh.. allow me to clarify... when I said, returning to non PSMF eating, I was not talking about junk food! I just meant, adding non-protein foods such as fruits & veggies, and possibly even whole grain carbs here & there, still within VLCD limits. And stopping exercise is out of the question, regardless what I'm eating!
  • Interesting. Is there any risk of re-gaining weight when returning to non PSMF eating? I can see doing this short term, but not as a forever way of eating. Speaking strictly for myself, that is. I might try it. I'm super frustrated with my plateu. :-\
  • I have discovered, (maybe this isn't for everybody) when I really want to cut down on calories, rarely am I successful with a sudden drop. I have to sort of "wean" myself off gradually. I do this by constantly looking for ways to shave off calories, and being flexible and creative about finding lower calorie ways to stay…
  • I agree. I think it's important not to ever feel like you are starving, but if you CAN exercise and still keep the same calories, (i.e., not eat them back) then all the better.
  • I thought this was going to be a rated X thread based on the name! (So of course here I am! LOL!) I also want to know who, or how, someone discovered that beaver butt juice was useful and delicious??? And how the DEUCE do they get it??? Poor beavers! I don't like hard candy anyway, never have, but if I did, this would not…
  • I lost a bunch of weight once on Atkins, about 10 years ago, but gained it all back because I could not maintain that diet. Don't get me wrong, I'm not assuming you are doing Atkins, but I just mentioned it because that experience, to this day, has made me super vigilant about carbs. So yeah, I get it! ;) I still try to…
  • My two cents... I love LOVE red wine, and love having wine with dinner, and after dinner... if I'm going to drink any at all, I will end up (usually) drinking the whole bottle, since my boyfriend doesn't like to drink very much. And red wine does not keep very well, so wasting it would be a crime, right? Might as well just…

  • I'm guessing you meant less than 1000 a day, not 100?!?!? :noway: I highly recommend timing your eating... it has worked amazingly well for me in the past. Make sure you eat every 2 to 3 hours, whether you are hungry or not. An apple, a small salad, a few almonds, whatever fruits/veggies you like best. Once you adjust, you…
  • WOW!! You look great! Did you have lap band??? All that from diet & exercise? What a great success story!
  • Nice tats! I love stars! I don't have tats, but if I ever do, it will be stars, stars, stars!
  • There are people out there on the WWW that support each other in a bad way, serious anorexics and bulimics who have real disorders & don't want to change. That really is a problem, and it's not healthy. HOWEVER, I have been reading all the posts in this group so far, and I have not seen any really alarming posts that would…

  • :flowerforyou: You have my full support! I am also tired of people telling me that 1200 is not enough. I try to stay under 1000, and once I adjust to it, I do lose weight, and I feel fantastic. I have energy, and eat nutritious food, and enjoy eating out once in a while. I don't starve! I agree, we just need to listen to…

  • Seems like a lot of people on MFP like Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. I looked it up on YouTube, but have not tried it yet. I have also heard good things about P90x, but I am chicken to try it! Bok bok! I am sort of doing my own thing with treadmill and stepping routine with weights at home, and trying to get the the gym…

  • I took it as a joke... I also have a very dry sense of humor, it doesn't always come across well in writing! :ohwell:
  • I'm confused. Every trainer I've ever used, every article, every book I have ever read, has pounded it into my head that eating breakfast when you wake up is CRITICAL, that is what jump starts your metabolism. I am in the practice of eating a substantial proportion of my daily calories (maybe 1/4) for my first meal. Then,…
  • Welcome Steph, Good luck on your goals! This is a great place for support. There must be something about having a boyfriend that causes weight gain! I swear! I have the same problem. My boyfriend eats whatever he wants, but I'm the one who gains. He says he can't tell the difference but... I still hate it. :( Be sure to…
  • There are too many to answer everyone individually, so I'm going to try to reply to everything here. Thanks for all the replies! First, Violet is not a baby. She was my kitty from before I got divorced, and she is about 2 now. She was spayed at 6 months. I've been bouncing from couch to couch, staying with friends,…
  • I also have not met any IRL, but would love to! The people here have been GREAT support! :)
  • Rock Star! I could learn a few chords on the electric guitar, and scream loud enough with my 1/2 octave range, so why not??? I see them all the time on TV & hear them on the radio, with no more talent than what I might have! :p

  • Lettuce, the greener the better. Iceberg is not high in nutrients (and me personally, I can't stand it) but leafy greens are always good. One of the trainers on "The Biggest Loser" said that leafy greens are so high in nutrients AND low in calories, that you literally can eat as much as you want, and the calories you use…
  • ^^This^^ I only recently started using one. I might use it the first time I use an ingredient, maybe a couple times, but then I get an idea what an ounce looks like, and can guesstimate with more confidence. Like the initial post said, you could be WAY off with your guesses if you never check!
