  • NOT being asked when I'm due or being congratulated on my pregnancy (which I have never and will never have)!:explode:
  • Try vanilla protein shakes with any frozen fruit of choice: strawberries, blueberries, cherries, mangoes, peaches, grapes, melons, pineapples, etc. The consistency of the frozen fruit provides the thickness for the shake without the bananas.
  • Overall, have lost more than 50 lbs and two cup sizes (DDD to a D in Lane Bryant bras). And, yes, unless you're some young thing, they do end up not where they used to be!
  • Count me in with the group. What I consider "thin" is still considered obese by the BMI charts. My first goal is to reach onederland, and the second is to reach my "thin" goal (which still sucks on the BMI chart). I can't see past that for now, but when I get closer to the "end" goal, perhaps I can see a little farther.
  • About 9 months, with no pregnancy to show for it.
  • Your story sounds all too familiar. Keep your head high and know that you just instantly inherited a very LARGE online family willing to encourage you and help you every step of the way. Feel free to add me as a friend. I don't know where you're from, but if we're in the same area you're welcomed to be a workout buddy.
  • I was always fat since about toddlerhood. I have never been HWP (height weight proportionate), aka what almost every man lists as a prerequisite on any dating site I've ever seen. In every school picture, I was half again taller and twice as wide as my school mates. So when people tell me to "remember" being thin, or to…
  • I look forward to the day when strangers will quit asking when I'm due. I'm not and have never been...pregnant...nor am I trying to be. When I started losing weight, my boobs lost two cup sizes, so now my stomach looks proportionately bigger (even though overall it is smaller). Egads!
  • Wow! You look great! Yes, the close-up 'after' picture is cut off, but it's the same blouse in your profile picture. Keep up the good work!
  • This fixes the problem without insulting anyone's intelligence....:flowerforyou:
  • I interpreted the question totally differently! Instead of motivational meaning "great beat to work out to" I thought you meant songs with motivational lyrics. :blushing: In that regard, try Richard Marx's "Power Inside Me" from the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces. It's the song that Barbra Streisand works out to…
  • Thanks for the link!
  • Lean Cuisine has a Steak Tips Portobello meal with broccoli that comes in at only 160 calories and is pretty low carb. They have several meals at 200 or fewer calories.
  • I've heard of Splenda, Nutrasweet, and Sweet-N-Low all having side effects and they are artificially created. I use Stevia. It has a tad of an aftertaste, but at least it is plant derived. There's probably something wrong with it, too, but for me it is the lesser of evils.
  • Grab protection, freeze and listen. If dog is not going nuts, conjure up some bravado and go check it out. Best of both worlds!
  • What got me interested was a book entitled "Slow Fat Triathlete: Live Your Dreams With The Body You Have Now" by Jayne Williams. I'm waddling in my neighborhood, and cycling at the gym. The only thing holding me back thus far is that I have to learn how to swim, which is a pretty big part of triathlon! I don't have to be…
  • I just use "low impact aerobics" instead of zumba to get an estimate.
  • I wish we could do more for you. So many of us have walked the path that you are on with your mom. Unfortunately, sometimes others' loathing of themselves gets projected onto us, especially when we refuse to follow that same path. Know that you are worth being loved and appreciated for the gem that you are. Begin planning…
  • So long as it is an item in the database, I put 0.5 as the serving size and MFP will figure it out for you. If your type of rice is not in the database, you can add it and input all the info from the rice bag plus the seasonings. That way others can use it moving forward.
  • Nuts can help. Depending on your favorite, they are lower carb, but higher in fat and calories.
  • Put the veggies through a juicer, hold your breath, and chug it down. Voila, your day's supply of veggies is done in a matter of seconds! :smokin:
  • Hey - you forgot Yard man!

  • Try rinsing a metal thermos, and then freezing the thermos overnight (leaving a few of the water droplets to freeze). When you juice, fill the thermos to overflowing and then put in the stopper. This eliminates any air trapped in the thermos that can oxidize your juice. The thermos will keep your juice fresh and cold until…
  • I played with both, but I was able to be much more creative with the Lego's.
  • Thank you! Must try! :drinker:
  • Visit your local specialty lingerie store and look for a corset with boning on the TOP of the bra cup. If they don't have your size, they might be able to refer you elsewhere since they likely have industry contacts. Anyway, the boning on the top of the bra cup will keep the "girls" from making an appearance while you're…
  • I had a goiter on my thyroid, and my doctor used Synthroid (brand name of what you're taking) to shrink the goiter. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor any questions about it. I never had to have an operation or anything else since mine was shrunk by the medication. Ask your doc about the protein shakes, as I don't know how…
  • ^^For us shy folks, the flip side of "just go for it" is that sometimes false hope  :embarassed: is better than no hope! :brokenheart:
  • I'm shy, and it is so painfully awkward to feel like I'm giving hints that are waaaay past my comfort zone, only to realize that the guy just thinks I'm being "nice" or "sociable." I was raised that it's the girl's job to let a guy know she's interested, but the guy's job to make the first move. Alas, times are changing…
  • Let us know how we can help. Many of us have walked this path as well.
