Supposedly you will notice the loss first, then it will take a few more pounds before your family will notice, then it takes even more before other people will see it. It also depends on how much you have to loose, and where it comes off quickest for you. Either way 20lbs is GREAT!! Good job!

I have 5 kids ages 21 months to 12 1/2 years old. I am a stay at home mom, but I have a ton of things to do everyday. Sometimes it gets to be dinner time and I haven't gotten in my workout. That is where having an awesome husband comes in. (or neighbor, relative, etc. if you aren't married) I will get dinner started…

At 11 years old it is the parents who decide what they eat most of the time. Of course you can't control what the kid eats away from home as much, but at home it's up to you. They can only eat what you have in the house, so don't buy junk. It's really easy! Try a new fruit and veggie every couple of days. She has to like…

First, take a test. Second, if it's positive....You are growing another person. Think about that for a minute.... Then ask your docotor!

I'm on week three. It's tough but I've already made huge gains. Good Luck to you!!

I paint my girls toes all the time. The older ones get their finger nails done too. I usually don't paint my 17 mo old's, just because she still puts her fingers in her mouth all the time. There is nothing wrong with it. I don't use bright red or anything "adult" colored. I usually use a light pink color.

I agree! I have a family of 7! We spend $150 a week on groceries and non-food things (tpaper, soap, etc). Coupons can save so much!! Even if you only use them on non-food things then you'll have that money to put towards food. The best way to use them is to look at your store's sale flyer for the week and then match a…

Ok, so if you were to move quickly between excercises would it be accurate then?

You're not supposed to? I'd never heard that. I'm curious to see the answers you get.

Take your meds correctly (on an empty stomach, wait to eat etc). If you aren't seeing a change in the way you feel talk to your doc. Sometimes a slight tweak in the dosage or even the brand of meds will make a huge difference. I take synthroid and usually get the generic. One generic works wonderfully and one makes my hair…

Meh, for myself I say keep an eye on it and drink lots of water if you are on the high side. Otherwise don't worry about it too much unless it's constantly way over. I seem to have to much sodium if I eat something prepackaged or ready to eat (which I rarely do). Lunch meat is horrible too, if I have a high sodium day it's…

Try using the search button above. There are a few good threads on this topic that should help you. Good Luck :)

It depends on what your daily activity level is set at. If you are usually sedentary then yes count it. If you put your activity level higher, then I wouldn't unless it was like scrubbing the floors crazy cleaning.

I took the fit test yesterday too! I was so proud that I got 40 reps on one excercise. Then the girl in the video says she got like 125 or something. Hahaha. Good luck to you!

If children are taught what the right choice is from early on when they get to be teenagers they are far more likely to make the right choice. When they are little they should be allowed to make small choices whithin certain boundaries. Would you like this or that type of choices. Not watch what you want on tv but would…

I would keep it at lightly active but eat your excercise calories. What is you goal set at? It should probably be at lose 1/2 a lb or 1lb per week since it looks like you are fairly close to your goal.

I take Centrum Performance or sometimes I'll take one of my kids Flintstones :)

[/quote] ering - Thank you for sharing the DVD suggestion. I think you are right, there seem to be many members that are intimidated by the heavier weights. Most likely they don't want to be laughed at or ridiculed for starting light, and it would be a shame if this deterred them from starting a practice they could…

Holy Cow! This is what I'm talking about. People read misinformation and snotty comments like this and think well, if I don't lift heavy like this lady then I'm never gonna get any results so why bother. You missed my point COMPLETLY! What I'm saying is people shouldn't be intimidated by weights and if they start small…

Ok, so who would think 3 - 10 lbs was heavy? Anyways........the point is that you don't have to lift heavy in order to lift. You can get a great workout and build muscle just fine using smaller weight. When I read posts on the forums here it gives people starting out the idea that unless you lift heavy weight then you…

For those who are looking for a program to follow, "The Firm" has some awesome videos. They combine weights and aerobics in the same video, so you get the best of both worlds. I have 3, 5, & 10lb dumbells. If I want 8lbs, I hold the 5 & 3 at the same time. They are great for beginner to intermediate excercisers. They do…

Congrats on your 40lb loss!

I totally agree! I don't feel like I'm working out unless I'm drenched when I'm done. edit to thank OP for the compliment. THANKS

This is sort of a fat moment. I had just had my 4th baby and was buying underwear. The lady behind the counter tells me there is no way that size will fit you better get a bigger one. Well, for her information my baby was only 1 MONTH OLD, and I was buying the size I would wear a month or so from then. So I bought 5 pairs…

Haha no problem :)

Short answer, YES eat back your excercise calories. MFP already figures in a deficit for you so if you don't eat your calories you'll be at a huge deficit. If you'll use the search there a zillion threads on this topic. Good Luck
