  • I'm currently doing a "biggest loser" competition with my friend online. I am her bridesmaid in April and we both want to lose a bit. We have roped another friend into joining in who's daughter recently died of meningitis. Each week if you are NOT the biggest loser you pay £1 to a meningitis charity. I feel good because…
  • Tuna steak is also not very fishy (although it is not white, so probably not the one you are looking for). My mum gave me Tuna steak when I was a wee girl and it seriously confused me that it was fish - I was a fussy git back then so it was a miracle I ate it lol
  • From a fellow shorty (5ft 1) i can understand the feelings you have about feeling that 5lbs is impossible. I frequently have these thoughts during some of my downfalls and from failed "yo-yoing diets". You need to tell yourself that you can do it, its not for your children, husband, friends, work colleagues you have to do…
  • Yes and No... Situation: My mum is very thin and going to be 60 this year, she doesn't go to the gym and her only exercise consists of walking the dogs a couple of times a day, she has always been very thin with her heaviest weight being 8st 7lbs...now in the past and if being totally honest, i am envious of that weight…
  • wow...thats just awesome I'm kinda a newbie to weights and have just started stage 2 of NROL4W. I have noticed differences too but I feel like such a weakling still...how did you keep motivated? pix x
  • oh. my. god. did workout A on stage 2 for the 1st time 2 days ago after a 2 week break...DOMS are almost unbearable! feel bad that i can't go to the gym today as it is closed for new year for 3 days :( damn muscle soreness!!!
  • I am a total newbie to weight lifting as well (except from the odd class of Bodypump) and just finished week 3 of NROLFW. I am loving it! I feel motivated and the challenge of adding more weight always excites me :) It takes a wee while to get your head around the routines - but it is well worth it! I'm noticing small…
  • You get people that would rather do nothing and live off benefits rather than get off their lazy bums and do something. I am a young person who has just got my fist full time job...it sure as hell is tiring but it has taken me 5 years to be exactly where I want to be, so I'm not going to blow it by being lazy now! I…
  • Horsea, Lapras & Dratini (and its evolutions)
  • hi from Edinburgh :)
  • thanks for your reply :) much appreciated x
  • thanks for replying :) much appreciated
  • My arms and tops of my thighs have been burning since Monday lol so it's done something :P Thank you for your input :) x
  • This was going to be my next step after the plea to all you lovely people :) I'm gonna give it one more shot, and if I'm still not happy with what i'm seeing (or not seeing in this case :P) I will be having to pay the doc a visit :(
  • How am I measuring? - The kitchen scales are my best friend lol I have a much better relationship with them than the bathroom ones :P Condiments - I'm pretty much a plain Jane lol Sauces - I normally make my own and it is normally a pasta sauce made with tomatoes which is logged :) . Cooking - my main ways are grilling,…
  • Yeah - I live in the UK so that's probably why some labels are a bit strange. Asda (probably the one you see the most in my diary) is pretty much the UK version of Walmart - so most of the foods from there is fresh stuff :) I'm gonna try drinking more water I think...I've just started a new job as a Primary (Elementary)…
  • Thank you for all the replies and your support! I have been eating at 1300-1400 for about ooh...2-3 months now, and as far as I know logging and measuring (to my mum's dismay) everything! Playing with numbers and a waiting game I guess. As I said in my OP - I know it takes time and I am by no means wanting a "quick fix". I…
  • I have just in this past week put the scales away. I saw that number too much as THE number and was basing all my progress on it. For me, this was just getting plain unhealthy, so I am now focusing more on Non-Scale Victories to help.
  • I've not eaten McDonalds for over a year and a half now. I never ate them much before, but after a long time of healthy eating, i gave it a go cause I needed something quick on the go...OMG!!! The cramps!!! The stomach cramps sooo bad they were the sort which left you bed-ridden! I swore never again to eat a McDonalds! and…
  • Not intentionally - but from this context I took that she didn't set out to intentionally embarrass her colleague. look at the positives.
  • but if the colleague is moaning about weight all the time it becomes their business. If she doesn't want people to comment/suggest/help/challenge (call it what you want) the workplace is not the place to be discussing said topic.
  • Whoa...talk about harsh...i can see it from both views but it doesn't have to be made personal...
  • OP: I definitely don't think you were out of line - she bangs on about her weight - I see it as a helpful gesture and quite supporting actually, telling her about a healthier Option ('scuse the pun) that she might not know about. She didn't have to get all up in your face and make a big deal. A lot of good advice can be…
  • Yup...mine is round about that percentage too. I don't look obese, I don't feel obese. I just want to get rid of the wobbly bits, tone up and lose some pounds in the process - don't worry too much about it, ride the wave, the most important step has been taken - time for change :) x
  • I know exactly these sort of days...I haven't lost anything lbs wise but inches i have. I feel my bottom half is much smaller than my top-half (which has never been the case) and I feel a little uncomfortable in my own skin when tops that used to look okay on me now in my own mind don't look great. I usually have a good…
  • could I join please? I'm 5"2(ish) and need/want to lose between 16-20lbs
  • Thank you so much for so many replies. It really is nice to have this support. Its gonna be a long journey - but i'll get there I hope :)
  • Yeah I'm gonna try upping I think. Patience is a virtue! lol.
