  • When I reached 2000 ish calories I began to even out, I ate at this for a good 4 weeks or so and didn't gain or lose anything. The 7lb gain was slow at first, staying the same weight as I started out at for the first month of reset (upping calories gradually) It was where i was hitting the 1900-2000 that I started to gain…
  • I may or may not be levelling out :/ Stayed the same weight this week, still +6lbs from when I started resetting at the beginning of June. Started NROLFW 2 weeks ago and back to school for now a "normal" week, so will update on Friday. Is +6lbs sounding about right? Or too much? I'm learning not to trust the scale,…
  • aaaaaahhhh! I see :) that now makes perfect sense thank you. And my god! did I notice the difference, I just felt totally ill! It was horrible! Really don't want to feel like that again in a hurry lol.
  • Sorry haybales, can you clarify what you mean for the second bit of your comment? I'm confoooooozed lol. X
  • I'm back for another update. I'm pretty happy so far. I've only put on 6lbs in 2.5 months after eating at 1200 calories religiously for a rather long time. I went back to my job as a teacher yesterday after the summer holidays and got so overwhelmed with work I missed eating about half of my lunch. We'll, how in the hell I…
  • wooooow...can't believe how much water weight I held onto! From Saturday evening when I got back from Spain I'm down 6.3lbs! Holy moley! I knew I held onto water, but i can't believe I held onto that much! That's insane!!!
  • Yeah, I was in Malaga. Reaaaallly hot, sitting at about 35-40 degrees Celsius each day :/ Got rather sunburned as well. I'm travelling again in about 10 days time to the Canary Islands for just over 2 weeks, so...yeah, It's gonna be rather up and down this month, but i'm prepared for a lot of water weight gain :)
  • just really my better half noticing at the moment. He is a real gem, always there to pick me up when I feel like things aren't going good - for example I'm just back from a teaching course in Spain, where I have had very little control over meals, I wasn't as active (although was walking every day), lots of salty food and…
  • Wow...so I've been upping my calories for the best of 4 weeks and only just yesterday have crossed the border to eating 2050 calories (probably closer to my TDEE now that I am on summer break from my job) and I have not budged a single pound! I mean sure, I've had fluctuations. The 3rd of June i was 146lbs eating at 1200,…
  • Yeah, I'm just pretty curious :) I don't drink normally, so I thought I'd still be feeling the effects! I didn't have any water (bad girl!) during the evening and didn't take any painkillers before going to bed. I'm guessing I just got lucky :P Not going to use it as an excuse to go out more often lol.
  • another observation, from my first night out drinking since Easter time (where I was on 1200 calories). I had a lot more to drink last night than I should have...and I was expecting a total rager of a headache this morning (normal for me :( ) but I feel as fresh as a daisy. I have NEVER, I mean NEVER got off scott free…
  • Fair point well made :) Maybe I've only been told not to eat under that number as I don't have a lot to lose and I'm short...my BMR is pretty low anyway (hanging out at around 1400) Seriously dude - listen to this poster! she knows her stuff!
  • using Scooby's calculator your BMR (calories your body uses in a day to keep you alive and all things functioning whilst at rest, breathing, heartbeat etc) - 2708 calories You should NOT be eating UNDER this number TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) (accounts for your average daily activity as well to give a figure…
  • Simply, no...you wouldn't feel it in just 2 weeks. Your body needs time to adjust whether increasing or decreasing. The first week if you saw a big loss at low calories it could just be water weight lost. Eventually your body will think 1200 is the norm, it will think there's a famine going on and do anything to cling on…
  • protein rich foods usually keep you fuller for longer. I am learning the hard way after cutting my calories really low (1200) on and off for a good few years, I hit a bad point where I wasn't losing, even though I was keeping my calories low and exercising religiously 5-6 x a week. I was coming in from an exhausting job…
  • Yeah, for my workouts I was just really counting Workout level, i usually do a short 5-10 min warmup and cool down as well :-)
  • Thanks so much. It was the activity levels outside my 30 min workouts which were confusing me somewhat So...I'm a school teacher and on my feet and running around quite a lot of the day up and down stairs and around the classroom. On top of that I do 6 x 30 min workouts which come out about 3 hours per week. Therefore I…
  • I've had this ever since I was a kid and even got tormented for it :( It is just one of these things sadly, I'm also very pale and also very blonde. Rehydration and drinking lots of water straight after, splashing and washing face, cool towel and a cool damp towel throughout your workout and wearing as lightweight clothes…
  • Edinburgh - Scotland :)
  • Not scratching my head. If I go out for a nice meal I'm gonna enjoy it! If that means tailoring my calories and macros during the week and days beforehand and doing that extra work out then so be it. If I'm 1-2lbs up on the morning after my meal out am I going to freak out? No. I'm not. Because I've been careful and I've…
  • Can I just say, thank you to everyone who has replied :) OP, I have a 2 week holiday to the Canary Islands in July and I'm already panicking about sabotaging my efforts! All of you are absolutely fabulous! and have put my mind somewhat to rest too :)
  • ^^ This :)
  • Hmm...can be rather difficult to never go to a restaurant...what if it is a special occasion, or a one off? what if you have a family who eat out a lot? There is always healthy options and choices...and if not... Everyone needs a little treat now and again, reward your efforts :)
  • :) Thanks everyone. As I said, I seldom drink alcohol so I don't think 1 night would slow my metabolism down all that much :) I'm also a weirdo and never used to get the munchies (back when I was a student and did drink a lot) I'm not planning on getting "blootered" (for want of a better word) purely because I am a control…
  • i do like your thinking! ;) :P
  • Thank you guys! Haha! My alcohol tolerance wasn't very good to begin with anyway :/ I'll probably be done after only a few. I have no problem drinking slowly...my fiance's always complaining about me taking longer than an hour to drink a cup of tea, which is normally cold by then lol (honestly, if clubs/pubs sold tea I'd…
  • I'm a teacher too (UK) we usually have a mid morning break at 10:30 where I'll have a bit of fruit or two. Lunch is then at 12:30 and I'd agree with high protein, it defo keeps you fuller for longer.
  • well this post was a great big warm hug to me :D just what I needed. body is currently retaining rather a lot of what i assume to be water weight after my fiance's choice of meal out last night for Valentines (mmmm - sushi!) it's my first big gain in over 6 weeks :( but it will come off again *cue Chumbawumba's Tubthumping*
  • I get that too :) The beauty of this one is there is no real time limit, it's just like an ongoing weekly....thing lol x
