  • What about a quick stir fry? Cook a couple of chicken breasts, slice em up, and then add a frozen veggie blend. I usually cook the entire box when I buy brown rice, and then I freeze it in single portions, so I can just throw em in the microwave for a couple of minutes, and serve the stir fry over it. Add a little low…
  • There are several websites that you can go to for low fat recipes...skinnytaste.com, hungrygirl.com, allrecipes.com (and search for lowfat recipes), tasteofhome.com (click on the healthy tab), and foodnetwork.com (click on the healthy eating tab). Good luck!
  • People posting questions about fad diets. I thought the whole point of this site was to lose weight the healthy way, and to keep it off. Drives me insane!
  • Oh wow thanks for this. I never would have thought of it. I crave ice cream the first few days of TOM so this will come in handy!
  • Keri- I'm gonna look up that soup recipe... sounds great! Yes, I changed my calorie goal. Hopefully it will help some. Barb- Summerfest looked fun! Glad you're making the most of your summer! Glad your daughter is doing better too. I'm looking forward to this weekend, just the two of us. Not sure what we're doing yet, but…

  • Thanks Keri! I needed that! I'm going to take it easy for a while. Hopefully soon it will pay off. People are CONSTANTLY telling me how good I look... even my mother in law from hell complimented me on my weight loss last weekend. I guess I should just take it in stride... it will come eventually. We have been so busy…

  • Have a small snack that's at least 200 calories. You don't want to go under 1200 if at all possible.
  • Multi-vitamins?

  • How about Woozy-Q's (Suzy-Q's), No-Shrinkys (Twinkies), Frosted Fakes, I Scream, Fat-tato Chips and Cheat-o's?
  • I'm finding it difficult to set up rewards for my mini-goals too, but As my clothes get too big I'm donating them and buying others. Even if I get them at a second-hand store, I find that buying that smaller size is reward enough for now. I'm thinking though that when I reach my ultimate goal, I am going to take a vacation…
  • Enter your sets and reps under strength training, but to calculate calories burned with strength training there is a category for it under cardio.

  • RedGold brand salsa is the lowest sodium I've found on the market, and it's pretty good :) I use Salt Sense at home, but it's only 1/3 of the sodium. I don't like the potassium substitutes either.
  • My goal is right smack dab in the middle of my healthy weight range according to the BMI calculator.
  • Cirque De Soleil tickets are very expensive, but from what I hear it's worth it. When I went to Vegas, we spent a lot of time walking the strip and checking out the different casinos. Also had a great time at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. Make sure you go to the top of the Stratosphere too! Have a great time!
  • Will he eat Cabbage? I use the filling from this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Stuffed-Peppers-with-Turkey-and-Vegetables/Detail.aspx and make Cabbage rolls. You could leave out the mushrooms since he doesn't like them, and add some pre-cooked brown rice for him. This recipe makes a TON of cabbage rolls... and the…
  • I'm at like 309 days. Logging on is the easy part. It's keeping up with the journaling and the workouts that's hard!

  • I just enter the number on the watch. Keep in mind that you continue to burn extra calories for a while after your workout. Your muscles still contain kinetic energy which is a boost in your metabolism. This more than makes up for the amount of calories you would burn sitting idle during your workout time.
  • Barb~ Your poor daughter! I hope everything turns out okay for her! Keep us posted. I have been off the prednisone for a couple of weeks now but I am still starving. Now, the weight has begun to creep up. I've gained a couple of pounds according to the scale, but admittedly that could be sodium. I'm starting to get…
  • You're sore for three days afterward :)
  • I've been having the same problem. I'm almost halfway to goal and suddenly I'm starving. Part of the problem is the doctor had put me on Prednisone for a bronchial inflammation, but I've been off of it for a couple of weeks now and I'm still starving all the time. I'm very interested in an answer to your question.
  • In the US, sodium is listed as mg on the label. Weird.
  • Try roasting it in the oven on a rack. Here's a link: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=s&hl=en&q=roasting+rack&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=11006406246510407621&sa=X&ei=xYoETtW2A4uDtgfsvbGwDQ&ved=0CE8Q8gIwAA Just place the rack in a roasting pan or a casserole…
