  • No I'm starving after (as most should be after a hard enough workout), some lean protein and fiber is great
  • As said above, you cannot "spot reduce" areas, meaning working out your arms to reduce arm flab wont work. You need to lose TOTAL body fat, and wherever your body loses fat it will come off. Running or cardio can help with that, but could also increase your muscle size a bit.

  • Hello, my numbers are: HDL 84 LDL 91 Triglycerides are 32.. ..And I eat like 5 eggs with the yolk a day. My point is; dietary cholesterol has mostly nothing to do with blood cholesterol serum levels. One of the huge misconceptions is that meats and eggs raise cholesterol when in fact studies now are showing they raise the…
  • If you can scrounge up $100 you should get the Nutribullet! It's a high quality bullet blender that liquifies everything you put into it. That way you get all the fiber and you can even add seeds and nuts, but you also use less veggies and save more money. Juicers spit out all the fiber and are a pain to clean and you need…
  • I'd up the calories a bit with more protein and do more exercise like weight training. Weight lifting will increase your basil metabolic rate and therefore increase the amount of calories you can burn (even while you sleep). When having eggs, eat the yolk too. It gets a bad rap for cholesterol but dietary cholesterol has…
  • I use half almond milk (unsweetened 30 cals) and other half water. I get calcium and other vitamins that are added into the almond milk, and stay away from cows milk because it has 12g of sugar (lactose) per 8oz, which can cause an insulin spike. for me cows milk makes me break out more, and have more oil, mainly due to…
  • Always remember, fat burns in the fire of carbs. Carbohydrates (glucose) is the only macronutrient that can cross the blood brain barrier. Protein and fat cannot. With low carbohydrates, especially if you are active, your central nervous system and body may not have enough carbohydrates to run properly. Stay within normal…
  • Unfortunately, true. The liver is responsible for a lot of metabolic processes such as lipolysis, glyconeogenesis, glycolysis, etc..and when it is impaired by filtering alcohol you can ruin your metabolism or slow it for days. People that drink often find it a lot more difficult to burn and keep fat off, and even repair…
  • As a macronutrient alcohol has the 2nd highest calorie content per gram right behind fat. Per gram, fat has 9 calories, alcohol has 7, and protein and carbs have 4. But, the real kicker is the alcohol can prevent the liver from performing lipolysis efficiently and can slow metabolism up to 66% for 24-28 hours after you…
  • Seriously? A good chiropractor is more trained in spinal problems than the average family doctor. The sports chiropractor near me is certified in active release therapy and is the team chiropractor of all the local sports teams like the Rhinos, Lancers, Red wings, and Amerks - obviously he know's a lot and can diagnose a…
  • I don't mix mine with milk because cow's milk has a ton of androgenic hormone variations in it and whenever I start having a lot of milk I get oily and get more acne. Whey is filtered and micronized and only has the IGF-1 factors like milk does and crude protein content. Almond milk also doesn't have 12g of sugar per 8oz…
  • 'Like' a protein shake?? It is a protein shake! Most of the time you can use it preworkout if you want as it has a good amino acid profile - but usually it is best directly after a hard workout for muscle repair and growth. Cheers
  • Milk has 11-12g of sugar per 8oz. It is called lactose, it is a milk sugar. And certain fruits have higher sugar than others. I'd say ignore the fruit sugars because fructose isn't too bad, but if you are having juice try to cut down on it. That and milk. It's okay to eat fruits, some of the sugar binds to the fiber in the…
  • No, I'm studying at university. I said 'eat a little more' because I'm trying to be sensative unlike other people "dude you're eating way too little, are you nuts?! double your calories!" Let him figure out what he needs to do and how he feels. We don't know his basal metabolic rate or activity. If he sits at a desk all…
  • Thanks : ) Sorry to be so wordy, it's just how us exercise physiologists are use to talking.
  • Stevia extract
  • Don't eat, or drink water. Eventually you wont be hungry anymore, or go to sleep.
  • If it is your lower back, planks would help, the lower back has whats called a lordotic curve, and strangthening the muscles anteriorly to it will cause a decrease in stress upon that curve.
  • Absolutely, planks done incorrectly can actually strain the back initially. I'd see your doctor and request a CT with 3D rendering and bring it to a sports chiropractor, that way if it is muscular induced pain they can work it better than a regular chiropractor.
  • Backs are tough, I know how you feel. Truth of the matter is, most back pains or issues can be resolved with abdominal and core strengthening. Correct form sit-ups, crunches, and planks can help in the long run, and making sure you sleep on your side or back to prevent anterior pelvic tilt which is very stressful on the…
  • Things that I do are take notice to the little things: ask for no mayonaise on something. 1 Tbsp can be 100 calories or more. Ask for no cheese on things, cheese is full of saturated fats and is calorically dense. Instead of french fries, most places have substitutes like steamed veggies, etc. And as always, watch the…
  • Hey man, good job with the adipose loss. I study exercise physiology/nutrition and you need to now boost your metabolism and eat a little more. Keep it healthy, but up your calories. You want to prevent ketosis - especially if you are exercising. Now that you are lower in weight try to do some resistance training with…
  • Yes, it is a good idea to have a big eating day. I do it every other week, so 2 times a month, I'll just go get what I want and go over my calories. I'll get pizza, mac and cheese, beer, etc..
  • Read the label on the box or bag.
  • No bad risks, mainly, softer stool, increase gas or bloating, or possibly a little chance of dehydration as some fibers absorb water.
  • Agreed. Havent had milk in about a year now and my acne is almost non-existant now. : )
  • Yes that is one of the things, its shown to cause mucus increases, and respiratory inflammation.
  • Cool, go in the sun.
  • Anyone see forks over knives and the major university studies on casein? http://www.drheise.com/milk.htm That a good site too.
  • I've been enjoying nice crisp celery more and more lately, with a little light ranch of course.. It's nice and salty tasting and full of electrolytes and fiber.
