I make my own black bean burgers sometimes! My husband hates most vegetarian anything and even he loves these and asks for them a lot. 1 can reduced sodium black beans, mashed 1/2 small white onion, diced and sauteed 1 egg 1/2 cup Panko 1 tsp salt-free Italian Seasoning 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp garlic powder Just combine,…

For breakfast, I have a little container I got form Target that is meant to cook 1-2 eggs in the microwave in a minute. Very good on an english muffin and very quick. You can add meat or veggies into the container to cook along with the egg. For lunch, I make tuna or egg salad sometimes. You could make those ahead if you…

What an amazing transformation! And such a good perspective on the whole process. Thank you for sharing and congratulations!

I am a choreographer, teacher, and house manager for a children's theatre.

I go through a little of this with my husband, since he is a very picky eater. I look through healthy recipes and find things with ingredients he would like. Then I make a salad or veggies with it and fill my plate with a much smaller portion of the main and a big portion of the salad or veggies, while leaving off the…

Oatmeal! You can put different things in to have variety. Nuts, fruit, nut butter, yogurt, raisins, etc. :)

I had a whole wheat english muffin with an egg, turkey slice, and a little cheese on it with an apple. Usually I make oatmeal with raspberries in it. Both are super easy and yummy!

I use Mrs Dash's marinades with my meat whenever possible, since it's sodium-free. The Garlic and Herb variety is good with chicken! Also, I used to buy pre-packaged cous cous that already had seasonings and it's high in sodium, so I found some plain and season it with sodium-free seasonings.

I started with this recipe and lightened some stuff up: http://shewearsmanyhats.com/mexican-black-bean-pizza/#_a5y_p=1185330 You can do a lot of different things with it depending on what toppings you like. :)

Bump-referencing this next weekend!

Great advice. I'm doing this weight loss journey to be the 'me' that I want to be. And that 'me' includes being a mother, getting to do more fun and active things with my family, becoming a better choreographer (what I do for a living), and living longer to be able to enjoy all of things that are important to me in my…

You look great (and younger, too)! :)
-
Definitely! I know plenty of people who have had babies at many different weights and have healthy babies. I'd just rather be safe than sorry. :)
-
Thank you to the rest of you for the motivation and the friend requests from awesome, supportive people! That's exactly what I need right now.
-
Also not trying to be rude back, but you don't know every reason I have for losing weight. A baby is NOT the only one. I'll continue towards goals of health even after having a baby. I'm reaching out with that reason to try to find like-minded people who are in a similar place and mindset in their weight loss. Thanks for…

I should have mentioned I have appointments with my doctor in a couple weeks and with the OBGYN in 2 months (I scheduled back in July, but it's really hard to get in). I'm just trying to get some advice and encouragement in the meantime, since it takes so long to get appointments with either. Thanks for your concern! I am…

EXACTLY! I've only been at it a couple weeks but this is definitely more focused that I've ever been toward my health. Weird. :)

I'm reading the Divergent trilogy, but it's not great. The first was OK, and the second is taking forever to get through. Not sure if I'll finish. But before this I read Stephen King's 10/22/63 and it was really good!

I was in 8th grade choir class and we had no TV, so we listened to the radio. I didn't realize what exactly had happened until my mom let us watch the news that night (we weren't usually allowed to watch TV).

I'm 5'4" and still over 200 lbs. I feel your pain!

Congrats on the job change! Sounds much less stressful! What I do is plans meals for Sun-Fri on Saturday and then shop on Saturday for everything I need so that I don't end up going to the store a lot or going and not knowing what I need and buying too much. I also like to buy a big bag of frozen chicken breasts at Sam's…

You look AWESOME!! What a transformation. I love inspirational success stories!

Black bean pizza w/ green chiles & steamed green beans. My husband asks for me to make this ALL the time!

I eat breakfast every day. About 200-300 calories. Either a smoothie with coconut water, fruit, and yogurt, or oatmeal with fruit in it. I workout between breakfast and lunch most days so having something to eat before working out really makes a difference to me in how quickly I get tired!

Thanks! Found it! :) I didn't know there were groups until you said this. Haha! I'm new... :)

I have this problem with mine. I'm apparently sensitive to Niacin. So for me, I take the vitamin with food and a baby aspirin because Niacin can cause flushing and nausea, but usually not in the small doses that are in vitamins and aspirin helps with the flushing/nausea. Probably depends on what type you're taking. I never…
