  • Ok, I will play too :) Ran 13 miles yesterday and 2 so far this morning. 180 miles total for the month of September thus far. Group Total: 763.41
  • big_man - my recovery only takes a couple of days after a race and then I am pretty much good to go. I think my recovery is quicker because of all the strain I put on my legs day to day in between races and during training. I force myself to get out there even when the legs feel tired. I also eat a TON or protein right…
  • Your right, it does all start with you and it is apparent you made a decision to change your life. Now, you just need to go out there and do it!!! If you need any help there are a ton of people that are here to help. Good luck and have a great day!
  • Congratulations...Well done!
  • Well simply put, you might not have lost a darned bit of fat! Yes you lost weight and that is good, but weight loss and fat loss are two different animals. Some of that weight loss could be attributed to muscle loss, even though you are lifting some weights, you might not be doing your workouts long enough to get into the…
  • Good point there!!!! I guess my point is that it almost never is the shoe...even if you run a ton, your feet still need time to adjust to a new pair of shoes....take it slow and steady. I just bought a new pair of shoes last Saturday for my marathon season and the max I will run in them is 25 miles per week...TOPS because…
  • It's not the shoes that need to be broken in...its the feet inside those shoes that need to be broken in.....
  • Thanks Archy and AK, the endless pasta bowl was worth it!!!!!
  • Good morning Loretta...You have made the first BIG step in your journey! There are a lot of people here who can help and motivate you! Good Luck to you!
  • Good evening horizon...what type of "group" excercise are you doing in the morning? Morning excercise is probably the absolute BEST way to lose weight, inches and body fat....I will keep this basic and please excuse me if you this is something you already do know...when you wake up in the morning, you don't have much of…
  • Oh, there is such a thing as a runners high...it does exist, however it is different for everyone. There is no set distance or time. It is a state of mind and you cannot control when it comes or when it goes...Clear your mind and just run....
  • Welcome and good luck to you. If I can be of any help at all please let me know.

  • As healthy stated, it is completely up to you if you want to change your settings. Keep in mind though, that if you increase your overall activity level settings it will probably increase what you need for calories and carbs and fat ect....it all will depend on what your goals are right now?
  • Congratulations! You have done a great job! You should be very proud of yourself!
  • Welcome and good luck! You CAN and WILL do it!!!!
  • Yes! Big breakfast pretty soon after you wake up...snack a couple hours later (whether you are hungry or not)...lunch.....snack...dinner....snack.... Three meals, three snacks! Your snacks can be apples, banana's, carrot sticks, yogurt, nuts (walnuts and almonds with no salt or flavoring are the best)...lots of choices out…
  • Congratulations!!!!!!
  • Mind if I chime in with a guy's perspective....first off, I agree that if he is acting weird and becoming super jealous, there is an issue there somewhere...that needs to be addressed! I agree with the rest of the posts that he should be happy as a clam in salt water....why he isn't may be a trust issue! Women have…
  • It all really depends on your activity level's...If you tend to sweat a lot, you will lose sodium significantly faster than if you don't.
  • Hey JulieSue... A couple of things...first what type of HRM do you use? If it is the strap around your chest you need to ensure that it fits nice and snug. Second, you don't need a HRM to track calories....you can and should use your current weight and the speed at which you are running... For example....a person who…
  • Amazing isn't it...seeing your numbers in black and white right in front of you! You might want to consider keeping track throughout the day so you know where you are at...just an idea! Good luck!
  • Stay positive and stay motivated...the same thing happened to me about 50 lbs ago and I was depressed as well for a moment...then I took that picture and carried it with me to continue to motivate me!!!! Keep doing what your doing!
  • Before doing anything I would consult with your doctor....planks and push-ups are great for core work though :)
  • I just went and looked at your profile but you have your daily food diary private so i cannot say for certain what you are doing now that is or is not working however you might be getting too much fat in your daily diet If you are working off the 40/30/30 (Carbs/Protein/Fat) ratio I might suggest that you decrease your fat…
  • I can't workout with music so I guess I am out of this game LOL!
  • I have done the entire P90X training twice..it works but you need to stick with it...there were times that I had to do my workout at 1 in the morning because of my work schedule. But if you follow the program it should work for you. Good Luck!
  • Katy, I am not certain you can change the fiber setting manually.... Here is a website that you can use to figure out what amount of fiber you really need though. Just fill out the information and click submit. Hope this helps. http://www.powerbar.com/calculators/fiber.aspx
  • Thanks elizw5 and kristinlough....as for running shoes, I buy 4 to 5 pairs a year currently...every time a pair hits 500 miles I go get a new pair...I generally can run a pair of shoes to about 700 or 800 miles but with proper rotation you need multiple pairs...I currently have 5 pairs in rotation...
  • Ok, well you certainly can do a protein shake to get to the protein amount you desire...however be aware that some of these shakes can tend to be a bit higher in calories...there is a product out there call Muscle Milk Light that is pretty low in calories and gives a pretty good protein boost...that said there are a few…
  • Everyone has given some great suggestions...Now I am in fact a runner and the best advice I can give you is to do the following...go find a local running store and have them look at your feet....they will have you walk around without shoes and look at not only your arches but your gate and the biomechanics of your body.…
