  • for me the temptations are semi sweet chocolate and/or potato chips(salt) Got to give in to a point.
  • My daughter loves to mix it with unsweetened cocoa for a syrup on ice cream or other things.
  • I have heard that the younger you are, the easier it will be for the skin to shrink. Lifting weights helps, I think, and time. lots of water too
  • Also, you have to vary your exercise. Change the speed or intensity or your body gets used to it and you don't see as much progress.
  • I am roughly 5"4 and currently weigh a little over 140. I wear a size 8 or 10 or 8-10 depending on what the item is. Wow! I don't think I was ever this size before!
  • S(ize also changes it. I am 5'4 and at my current weight MFP tells me to eat 1140 a day. Last year, when I started this, it was 1440. ) Well, I guess I have to eat my words. I know it was at 1140, but now it is 1220. I don't know why or when it changed.

  • This is one I wrote a while ago, so here it is again... So, yesterday I entered Fashion Bug with my daughter. I went to the first rack by the door since I am a bargain shopper and it had a sign for 50% off or something like that. I was looking throught the shirts, not finding anything my size. My mind was elsewhere while I…
  • My hubby likes to watch Man vs. Food! Its terrible! How much giant food can he stuff down in a limited amount of time. I try to find other things to do during that time. ..go do laundry or dishes or something. I fear that it encourages binging or eating really high fat foods. It also disturbs me that in our country we have…
  • I am 5'4 and started on MFP in October at 178.4.( I was higher than that before). I was definitely NOT in shape. However, I did not start exercising immediately. I only kept track of calories for the first 2-3 months. I still lost weight. I was then motivated and had more energy and began exercising in earnest. I have lost…
  • I have been on here (and earnestly trying to lose) since October. I have lost 34 pounds. I have done it slowly, as you can see, through the calories it tells me to eat and some exercise. I have a lot more 'get up and go" now and wear a much smaller size. Stick with it! It is fantastic! I eat healthy food most of the time.…
  • My daughter is 13, and wishes to join this site, too. But, since she is underage, she is not supposed to. As for your tummy, just do partial situps. Don't do a complete situp, but rather use your abdomen to lift your head and neck , as if doing a situp, but stop there. Don't tuck your chin down, but instead keep your head…
  • I had a bag of frozen sugar snap peas. I have followed the directions to cook them before and they were terrible, so I decided to try them slightly thawed-loved 'em!
  • I started it in Aug of 2010, but I did not take it seriously until October. I love it, too! If I had taken it seriously right away, I might be at my goal already!
  • My goal is 8 glasses of ice water . I don't always reach it. I was told by a personal trainer that you can lose 20 pounds in a year just by doing that change. Adding packets to bottled water doesn't count. It has to be plain water. If you drink anything else, you should drink more water to equal the other fluid you…
  • Wonderful progress! Thank you for your post!
  • In southern Iowa: 102! Tomorrow the same.
  • really? It is nothing to worry about. Mine is bad enough, I will not wear a 2 piece or post pics! I researched this last night and what I read said if one is young enough, it will go back to normal in time. I don't know what age that needs to be though. Even if mine does not go away, I would rather be thin and have hanging…
  • I am surprised at the variations you got for responses! I read some who were the same size I used to be and the size I am now, and wonder how they do it! I am about 5'4 Current weight: 143-145 Dress size 10-12 Pants size 8-10 I used to be 178 and wore sizes 16-18
  • If this is to be how we live the rest of our lives, it is not realistic to think we won't ever eat anything unhealthy again! In fact, I was in a weight loss group at work and one week they decided that we each had to have a "no-no". I chose cookies. I had never wanted cookies so badly than I did during that week! ( Before…
  • I have been wondering about this topic. What do they do on Biggest Loser? Why don't they have sagging skin at the final weigh in?( some do, but most don't)
  • Blueberry muffins (whole wheat), or pancakes, add to cereals in the morning. Part of a fruit salad-great with cantalope or peaches
  • Looks wonderful! How did you get the information from the recipe page to the post?
  • Another potential problem: If you took away obese kids, how do you decide where to draw the line? My daughter is a little pudgy. I know its easy to think that the line would be obvious, but how long until it started shifting? Also, some healthy foods are affordable, but where I live a bag of potatoes compared to purchasing…
  • Very happy for you! Great job!
  • I don't have the answers but I would like to know any good hints you get.
  • I don't have any answers other than prayer. I also have it, but in my fingers and possibly hips. Since I started the treadmill in Dec., the hips have not been nearly as bad. I question the left knee also at times, so if you find out any answers I would love to know. I am 44 by the way. My fingers started getting bumps when…
  • such progress! Keep it going!!
  • As a mom, I am sure that she loves you, no matter how it sounds or what she says. She is unaware of how deeply it is affecting you. Perhaps she just does not know how to express what she wants to say without sounding harsh or critical. I think you need to prepare in writing what you want to say to her. Read it over and…
