Several different, but mostly ON Gold Standard and NOW Sports Isolate Vanilla. Also, when lifting you're more likely to see a change in your monthly measurements than the scale.

That was happening to me last year and had to stop lifting to rehab, the combination of Aleve and chiro worked wonders. I've now finally, after 10 months, worked up to the weights before rehab and working with trainer once a week to make sure I don't reinjure. Take care of yourself and pay special attention to form.

Great to see you! That's so exciting! I lift in my basement which has berber carpet too, and haven't had an issue. Enjoy and don't forget the bumper plates and fractional plates.

A coworker and myself do a fitness challenge twice a day, mid-morning and mid-afternoon. We search for exercises that work around our work attire like squats or push ups. This month we started to include a stretch at the beginning and end of the challenge.

Congratulations on your 80 lb loss @leecha2014, that's fantastic! It's very difficult to calculate a calorie burn from lifting, therefore, many people just use 1. Also recommend taking measurements once a month, that's where you'll see one of the many benefits of lifting.

I lift at home and highly recommend bumper plates and fractional plates for home gyms. But as @sumiblue said, there are other ways... I've asked personal trainers myself, from my understanding they have their own routines, Pendlay rows and compound lifts are considered old school lifts and not frequently used or known by…

It might be a good idea to recheck form, and/or video yourlift. It seems most situations/pain go back to form.
-
Just an idea...there's always a number of people asking about lifting programs over at the Fitness Forum...

Bumper Plates and Fractional Plates are great suggestions! Second and third these recommendations. Best of luck, I remember how exciting setting up the room with new equipment, like Christmas morning.

A MFP friend who is physically active and lifts recommended chalk to me, "The chalk allows for a better grip & less tearing of the skin on the knurling of the bar." but I was hesitant. I did find a chalk ball recommended by gymnast. The ball limits the amount of chalk that is released so you don’t have a mess. I lift at…
