  • Embrace your height! I'm 5'5" and if my heels are less than 4 inches I feel like I'm on the ground. Heels can dress up anything...I've definitely been enjoying them a lot more recently than before and am actualy buying at least 4-5 pairs a month...I haven't even begun to count the amount I have. It's a terrible (awesome)…
  • Amen. I'm currently on Paleo and its main focus is meat/protein. This won't turn me!
  • Are we on the same fitness path? I was 185 a few years ago, went down to 150 but now I'm back at 165ish (def some chub gain but mostly muscle gain since I started crossfit). I'd love to be 135 but that might be impossible for me. I'd be ecstatic at 140-145...gonna friend you!!
  • I agree, I underestimate everything. It's safer.
  • I was a litle iffy on this question as well. I'm ridiculously active when I'm NOT at work, but I spend 1 hour in my car to and from the job and 9 hours at a desk (as to which I overdoes on water so i at least have the excuse to get up to go to the bathroom as often as possible!) I made my daily thing sedentary but always…
  • I upped my caloric intake to 1600 cal (40% protein, 40% carb, 30% fat) and work out pretty vigorously. I'm losing about 1lb/week if that (with the cheating it keeps on fluctuating though!) Strength training might add some pounds in the beginning on but you're losing inches. Get that measuring tape out. The weight will come…
  • What is your body telling you? If you're hungry, eat. If you exercise and feel lightheaded, eat. Personally, (especially when I work out in the AM) I don't eat before I work out. I'm never really hungry or feel faint so I find that I'm ok doing it this way. Although if I don't workout until later on in the morning, I make…
  • Big fan of the post above! Anyway...I'm in your boat as well and am unsure as to what the problem is. I know when a guy is wrong for me and I get out as quick as possible, but when I find a guy that's right for me and they drop me its beyond painful and confusing especially when the reason isn't clear. Needless to say its…
  • It most definitely hurts but I say its worth it. I go about once every 4-6 weeks
  • I buy the unsweetened vanilla but I only use it for fruit smoothies. Was never a big milk drinker

  • What's your name? Kristen Where do you live? North Bergen, NJ What are your food vices/ cheats? I'm an ice cream addict, thankfully almond milk ice cream isn't terrible! What do you think is holding you back from being in your TOP shape? food intake. My workouts are very good...I just have to eat less! What's your favorite…
  • I've been doing paleo for about a month now (very guilty of cheating a fwe times though) but have found that not having the grainy carbs and dairy has helped me with energy, strength and I'm not backed up! ha (sorry!) Friending you know if that's cool...I'm trying to get more people that are on my diet/workout regimen!
  • Yup I adjusted caloric intake and also adjusted the percentages to 40 carb 30 fat 30 protein. Also tried to keep the food coming at a rate of every 3-4 hours so I didn't get too hungry and overeat.
  • I wish I can agree w/ you...unfortunately food intake is a big big part of weight loss. I workout like a machine and if my food is a mess I don't lose a pound. I maintain at best. If you're blessed w/ exercise being your only solution, I envy you. A Lot. and if that were the case I would probably be a nothing by now ha.
  • Was covered by insurance ha. Anyway--I do agree w/ what was said because by following that along w/ adequate exercise I was able to lose weight steadily and in a healthy manner. Obviously some things work for some people and some dont but I don't find it to be bogus at all. Carry on!
  • I was told by a nutritionist that you should eat every 3-4 hours and try to hold off at least 1-2 hours before bed. If you must eat THAT late try to keep it higher in protein/fat and very low carb. If you're in bed at 1am,. totally find to eat at 11. Going 5 hours with no nourishment and then sleeping on it isn't the…
  • I'm actually a bootcamp instructor and love teaching it/taking the class occasionally (depending on the instructor of course). My classes usually start w/ a 5-10 min warmup, thorough stretch, then a mix of interval training, tabata training, body resistance training as well as using weights, running, etc etc etc. The…

  • adding you now...I'm a newb as well--feel free to add!
  • Luckily my crossfit trainer designs his workouts so there is ample rest per muscle group. I have been guilty of going beyond his workouts and doing extra though. I'm the worst "rester" ever.
  • North Bergen, NJ--feel free to add!
  • Nice! What kind of programs do you follow?
  • Depends on the day...I've been trying to jsut eat when I'm hungry (but of course taking in a minimum of 1200 cals/day)
  • That's my story this weekend too! had a great weight loss all last week then was 4lb up this morning. I'm hoping to water it all out!
  • Agreed!! Keep going!
  • I am (well was) a huge cheese fan, since I started paleo I had to cut out all dairy...I've found that I've been losing weight more efficiently as well becoming regular. I do miss that cheese though!
  • I'm currently on a paleo type diet (no starchy carbs) but the last time I had a large weight loss I kept my diet low carb and tried to keep all starches (wheat! NO WHITE!!) before 3pm. Use the veggies and fruit (sparingly) anytime afterwards.
  • I'm looking to build a lifestyle on it. I'm sure there will be more cheat days in the future but since I like the way I'm feeling and my body's reacting to it I may make it a permenant thing. It IS only a few weeks in so I may be jumping the gun, but I'm still going to keep it as a goal. Many people that I know on it swear…
  • Basically it's the "caveman" diet. No processed foods, lean meat, lean poultry, fish, nuts, fruit, vegetables (w/ some exclusions), etc., no grains, no dairy, no sweets. I must say that since I've started it (even though as I said before, I'm a notorious cheater) I have more energy, I feel better, and my body's functioning…
