Many people here have issues with overeating, so you are certainly not alone in your struggles. You could also check out this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/666-overeaters-anonymous-oa

My advice is this: don't worry about it. Holiday weekend, I'm guessing you probably had a good time and threw healthy eating to the wind. IT HAPPENS. As long as it doesn't become the new normal don't beat yourself up over it. If you really feel like you need to "fix" it, eat a little under your goal for a few days or spend…

Yep, this about sums it up!

I went for the FT7 over the FT4 because the FT7 was only a little bit more expensive and you can connect it to the polar website and input your data and track it. So far I love it. The optional $40 FlowLink accessory allows automatic sync between the HRM and your computer.

Love it! I always remembered this guy's name after reading about him in a psych class.

So you seriously don't take sound medical advice based simply on who delivers it? The truth is the truth, regardless of the messenger.
-
As mentioned above, if your calorie goal was set by MFP it already has a deficit factored in. If you eat back your exercise calories using this method you will still lose weight.
-
Well whatever you do, don't sit on the couch and relax for 4-6 months... unless you WANT TO DIE.

I think a half gallon of milk weighs between 4 and 4.5 pounds (depending on variety), but either way visualization can be a great tool

I've been encouraging my mom to eat healthier in order to lose weight so she will have less pain in her knees. Last week I saw her eat (no joke) a butter and peanut butter sandwich. WTF?! /I feel your pain

THIS. I also don't judge my mechanic by how his car looks. I'm sure he is busy enough fixing others' cars that he has little time to work on his own.

Leah, Most of us have been there before. I lost my first 88 pounds only to gain 60+ back. I felt hopeless, depressed and ashamed that I had wasted 9 months and made myself look like a fool. All of the new confidence I had gained was washed away. IT HAPPENS. They key is picking yourself back up. Very rarely will you figure…

I've run two 5Ks so far, and I expected to finish last in both (I didn't). The position I place is the last thing on my mind... it's all about pushing myself and finishing :)

You are not the enemy lol. Gastric bypass doesn't work unless you change your lifestyle. Same as the old fashioned weight loss methods. Congrats on your progress and KEEP IT UP!

Since ya asked... these are no fun  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_Dq_NCzj8M

You worked in a restaurant for twelve years and never saw a server get yelled at by a customer?! I shoulda worked at TGIF  :drinker:
-
Messing with people's food is wrong, but it definitely happens. And not to the people who are simply unhappy, just to the people who are unhappy and horribly mean about it. /server for 7 years, never screwed with anyone's order.
-
If it wasn't realistic then they would have zero employees. Assuming this restaurant operates and has people working as servers then it IS realistic, just not for your friend. And an intense round of "customers from hell" simulation? Sounds like good training. If someone can't take a person being rude to them in a fake,…

Damn! You look like a totally different person. I hope you feel as amazing as you look. Keep it up!

Could not agree more. Both surgery and regular weight loss require you to change your eating habits. Why not choose the path that doesn't require surgery. I think for some people the serious nature of the surgery and the commitment is enough to make the change, the surgery is just the tool that gets them there.

I'm still trying to figure out why everyone is piling on the doctor for suggesting a valid medical procedure that helps many people... ah well. Even the OP said the doc didn't push when she said no to the lap band.

When I started planks last July I lasted the usual 5-ish seconds. Today I can hold for about 2 minutes... but I still hate them haha.

A multi-generational downward spiral into a world of insanity and drugs (both street and pharmaceutical). Hopelessness, desperation, and a "medicate first, ask questions later" culture are some of the main themes.
-
This is the key. MFP already calculates a deficit into your calorie goal. So if you eat your goal, and your exercise calories, you will still have a deficit in reality. At least that's how I understand it.

Yes! And for anyone who enjoyed Requiem, Pi is Darren Aronofsky's first feature film. You can definitely see some of the same film-making styles in Pi that were later very distinct in Requiem for a Dream. My current favorite strange movie is "Primer". Good luck even understanding that time-travel debacle.

THIS. Crunches used to be awful for me. Now I can do a ton and bicycle crunches are my worst enemy haha. It's all a journey, you have to start somewhere.... and YOU HAVE! Well done, stick with it :drinker:

Two things... First, the doctor sounds reasonable in my opinion. I don't think there is anything wrong with suggesting a consult for bariatric surgery for a patient who is overweight by 100 lbs. From the doc's perspective, it is a good tool and the statistics show that the many people who are obese will never lose and keep…

Well thanks!
