  • Thank you so much everyone! I can't wait to post new pictures a year from now! :drinker:
  • I started BodyPump when I was around 460lbs. I am still doing it a year later at 330lbs. So yeah, obese folks can and do take the class. That being said, my classes are filled with "beanstalks" - I am by far the biggest person (and also the only guy). I think that on average, any group class you take will be filled with…

  • Fully agree with this, don't let one experience with the MFP snark monsters scare you off! We're happy to have you gomidas2007 :drinker:
  • Fair enough, but some of the lines and distortions in your pic look awfully suspicious. If it is unaltered, then I do apologize.
  • Understood and I agree
  • Something IS working for him, and it's called Photoshop! Take a closer look at the picture  (props to ElizabethRoad for being the first to catch this!)
  • BodyPump has been a excellent part of my program for about a year now, I definitely recommend it! As someone else posted above, it is as hard as you make it. Start of with small weight and gradually work your way up until by the end of each track you can basically lift no more and you are out of breath. BodyPump is great…

  • Truth... I had someone post in my news feed the other day and he was very upset that the 16 cherry tomatoes he had eaten netted him 350ish calories. He "HAD NO IDEA TOMATOES HAD SO MANY CALORIES"!!!!! Judging incorrect or poor food database entries get easier and easier with experience, and it sounds like the OP is making…
  • Ugh... definitely a tough situation. I've dealt with this in my co-ed soccer league and I can totally relate. In my case, we had a goalie who was incredibly talented but would constantly yell or berate other team members. It sucked because none of us were good goalkeepers so we didn't want to lose him, but he really…
  • I'm a guy so I'm not sure what's available like this specifically for ladies, but I started wearing an Asics wrestling singlet a few weeks back and it has dramatically improved my work outs and drastically reduced my self-consciousness. I wear it under my regular workout clothes and it looks like this: It keeps everything…
  • I don't care what else I read on the forums today, THIS is the best post! Thanks Captain!!
  • I definitely have saggy skin and I still have a long way to go. I am definitely starting to look "deflated". No I don't like it, but I'll take an entire body of saggy, deflated skin over a single day of being the way I used to be. I fully intend on having surgery to help correct this in the future once I reach my goal…
  • I usually eat between 150-200g of protein per day. I've done this for the past year or so. No problems losing, no kidney problems either. I'm 5'9" currently 330 lbs.
  • Officially jealous of anyone who can attend this. Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to try and find a video of the reunion online!
  • Agree with almost everyone here, get rid of them! Donating them sends a subtle hint to your brain that you have a new lifestyle and you aren't looking back  EXCEPT...! Keep the biggest pair of pants you have so that you can pose for one of those awesome before and after pics where you get to stand in one leg of your…
  • Agreed! Although I do sometimes use a napkin to pull open the door handle on the way out, so perhaps I'm conflicted
  • Great post! I follow almost every single one of these (I'm going to have to start trying to glass of water before the meal one!), and I can attest that they have all helped me have success. Big thanks for posting this jeffrodgers1! :drinker:
  • I like a woman who can drink, but I certainly don't care if she doesn't. She needs to be able to handle herself though... man or woman - acting sloppy and obnoxious is not attractive at all.
  • Some good advice is to stop listening to Dr. Oz. You can't reduce one part of your body over another. It will all reduce given enough time and weight lost. There is no trick other than patience and hard work. Focus on consistency and logging your food and success will come regardless of what fads and gimmicks a salesman…
  • Sure our bodies operate on scientific principles, and you can always say that "science is science" and that it should be consistent across the board. Just as science is science, math is math. And if you have an equation (the equation being our body) then it will only be equal for everyone if ALL the variables going into…
  • Another vote for logging everything. Sometimes I eat 500-600 calories in fruit and veggies... not logging that would be a step in the wrong direction.
  • Yeah we are! :drinker:
  • This is not true. I drink up to 4 liters some days, slowly and spread out over the entire time I'm awake. I am 94.2% sure I am still alive.
  • I'm at 335ish now and I run 2-3 times per week. Sometimes on the road, but usually on a turf soccer field. I never have any pain, and I've been running since around 450 lbs.
  • I loooove Boghosian Valley Bread... the wraps are huge and all of the flavors are usually around 100 calories per wrap. http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/boghosian-valley-bread/ Edited to say... no idea if there is artificial fiber in these, sorry if there is!
  • Everyone's skin elasticity can be different, so you won't really know until you get closer to your goal weight. Not helpful, I know! If you have inelastic skin, then no matter how slow you lose weight it might still be loose. If someone has 100+ pounds to lose I would consider them very lucky if they didn't end up…
  • Hmmm I'm not sure how I feel about being oozed on  I'm definitely aware that some people might consider that a reliable source but the "very" in front of reliable and the large grin at the end made me think that (hopefully!!) the post was in jest. Or I might just have too much faith in my detecting abilities today…
  • Good points. Nothing I said hadn't already been covered and we were all fairly certain no source was coming... I spend so much time "casually ignoring and moving on" that sometimes a few replies get past the gate.
  • Check your sarcasm detector... either it's turned off or mine is reporting false positives!
  • "Mob mentality" or the "wisdom of crowds"? I prefer to think the latter, but I'm guessing you disagree (fair enough :drinker: )
