A 500 calorie deficit per day is generally considered safe, but everyone is different. You may find that you lose and lose well with -500 but you may also lose well at -750. You may also find yourself plateauing if you bring your daily deficit higher than -500. Take you time, pay attention to your measurements and what you…

BMR = The calories your body burns to stay alive and warm, with no additional exercise counted in. So if you don't exercise at all, and you live a relatively sedentary lifestyle, then with a BMR of 1900 calories and an intake of 1400 calories you have a 500 calorie deficit each day. That is a weekly deficit of 3500…

Not only that, but Pandora has workout specific stations already made up for you to choose: http://www.pandora.com/music/workout I like the Electronic Cardio one!

Hahaha nice call, that soundtrack is non-stop :)

Strong candidate for the best post I will read today. Thanks Juggernautpint!

You can and you will do it, screw the haters! Sleep well and drink lots of water, plus everything else mentioned above. Don't worry about running the entire time, take it down to the slowest jog possible or even a walk if you have to. Try and find a comfortable pace and keep your breathing regular. Rock an iPod with some…

No way! I swore off soda a year ago and I still think it's delicious!
-
I say FOE, but simply because I don't drink diet soda so that if I were to go to the cooler at work to get one I am not tempted to get a non-diet soda :)

Well, this does just about sum it up! The planning one stands out to me. Almost every day I get up and prep everything I will eat for the entire day. I stick it in a bag and it goes where I go. Having everything planned out and with me takes repeated food decisions out of the loop and has been a large part of my…

Great job! Keep it up and stay happy!

Guilty as charged haha

Ban the users instead of make the software better.... hmm I like this! Totally going to try this at my job next week  /software engineer //dang users always causing me problems

I was still a happy person at my heaviest weight, but I am certainly HAPPIER being slimmer. So it is possible to be happy and fat  But I would say that anyone who is "content" at being very overweight is probably either lying to you or themselves... possibly as a defense mechanism, at least IMHO.

Welcome to the site and congrats on deciding to become a healthier person. Feel free to add me, I'm pretty active and can definitely give advice and support, just ask :)

Great job, keep it up!

You can always cut the week 1 time goals in half and work up the the "real" week 1 times. Seems funny to say this about C25K, but it's not a race! Take your time and you'll start seeing some progress. Good luck!

Well at least you KNOW what the problem is  Seriously though, here is my advice. You NEED to hit 1200 minimum. It is absolutely physically possible, since in order to gain the weight you had to eat that and more right? It can be tricky to get 1200 calories worth of healthy food, but a little research into higher cal…

You should DEFINITELY be proud for doing 15 or 20 minutes. It's a slow buildup, and as you can tell from the responses, everyone starts somewhere. My first time out I did 5 minutes on an Arc Trainer and I thought I might perish. In a couple weeks I'll be doing my second 5k. Stick with it and that 20 minutes will turn into…

My main change is that I no longer go to Chipotle  I do miss it... but not as much as getting skinny. I treat myself occasionally every couple months with a chicken burrito (no beans, corn salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. Please stir it up before you wrap it!)

First-ever comparison shot I've put together. On the left is from 2009 at 500 lbs+, on the right is about 2 months ago at 365 lbs.

Sounds like you are making progress, but at what cost? Based solely on some of the info you posted, I am concerned for you also. Ditch the pills, eat more, and try and relax a little bit. All easier said than done right? I've got a feeling you didn't gain all your weight in a month or two so it's not going to come off in a…

I NEED my data and my numbers, they help keep me interested and on track. So yeah, since I'd probably pay more than $25 to know my highest weight I'd say you are definitely NOT insane. Go get it!
-
You are looking great! Keep it up and you'll get over the plateau :)

I think I eat more fruit than you and it seems to work fine for me. You might want to consider upping your protein though, especially if you are exercising.

Congrats!! I dropped a shoe size too, it was the last thing I expected haha.

Oooh thanks! Just had to turn off safe search and I found it!

Easy with that or you'll get this thread deleted! We need a MFP approved euphemism for this... /off to attend a "safety meeting"
