  • Don't despair. I did not go completely gluten free, I just limit it. I use Oatmeal Bread instead of wheat bread. I don't eat sweets like muffins and cupcakes and cookies generally...just a little dark chocolate everyday. I eat all veggies and fruits and dairy. My favorite is whole milk on the dairy. I eat chicken, fish,…

  • That's what is meant by.....Make sure you are staying away from foods that contain "Goitrogens" as they interfere with your thyroid. Raw spinach and broccoli fit in that...you can search on the internet what foods to not eat for thyroid conditions. Here is some of the article. I have seen raw spinach also on the Livestrong…
  • 2 pounds in three weeks can be good. Depends on how much you have to loose, what your plan is, TDEE( should take into account age) and exercise, etc and especially if your hypo/hyper is being treated effectively. I gained alot of weight from 2009 to 2012 because of incorrect treatment and generally not moving my…

  • Great Post. My husband and I are dieting together.. He is trying the "thin" observations noted and has been successful in some gradual weight loss. Calorie Counting does not fit his personality. I on the other hand am using MFP religiously to not only track calories but other nutrition which is helping me to feel healthy.…
  • I have the same struggles and have finally found that although I love him dearly, it is his responsibility to commit to a lifestyle change. So I started to take care of myself and low and behold he is catching on slowly. I always make sure "HIS" foods are in the house, Chili made, Golden soup make ( french onion without…

  • Oatmeal is very very easy on the Microwave. Just the big box of oatmeal. Not the quick cook kind. 1/4 C oatmeal, 1/2 c water. 50% power for 2.3 minutes. Add salt or pair with fruit. I usually do the fruit later in the morning. Incredible how full it makes you feel all morning. I have to force myself to eat the snack at 10…
  • Thanks..I was confused on the Mono and Poly as I thought you needed those to up your Good LDL readings. I am a peanut butter lover too...but recently switched to almond butter....cause almonds are supposed to be even better.
  • I cheat everyday with either of these: Ghiradelli Dark 60% Cacao Squares - 52.5 Calories for 1 square...Heavenly or Hershey's Bliss Dark Chocolate - 35 Carlories...Yum very satisfying..Feels like cheating but its not because its part of the calorie plan....Usually I pair it with 4 oz. Milk.. I like organic whole milk.

  • I really enjoyed the progression part and see how this would work for moderately to severe obese. I hope this helps a lot of people. I know just reading the success stories and the falling and getting back up stories has helped me stay with my plan of action. I am succeeding slowly. I do find the best results when I stick…
  • I am sticking to 1200. WIth a thyroid problem it can be a little more difficult to loose weight. I don't find I am hungry unless I eat the wrong foods and I eat infrequently. I always start the day out with oatmeal..which buys me a lot of calories for the rest of the day and leaves me feeling full for a while. Breakfast: 7…

  • I am the same height and had a rough week of plateauing only to stick it out and finally loose that pound. One at a time. It comes off slowly but surely. My goal is 196 to not be considered obese...so let's do it......Lots of water..Especially before each meal. Little healthty snacks.....Let's do this in 2013...
  • I have a few in the freezer but when I do use them I am always hungry after and never really enjoy the taste. In a pinch on extremely busy days they kind of work...but....much prefer a V8 low sodium and yogurt and fruit and light oatmeal bread than the frozen meal. Good luck with your journey. Note when I did use them more…

  • I tried it for the first time. Need to get over texture. I use 1/4 cup oats, 1/2 cup water with blueberries..Cook it all at once. Microwave - 50% power for 3 minutes. Came out ok. Definitely love the low calories and I get my Vitamin C too! I think I will try with peaches tomorrow.
  • I think this is quite the inspiration..Keep it up!!! You look completely different and can definitely see the progress..
