My advice would be to shut out all of those who don't support you and do your own thing. I don't have a huge support system here either, so I had to go it alone, but I've lost 30 pounds since march and got down to 17% body fat by doing consistent workouts (by myself of course) and, most importantly, watching what I eat.…

A while ago, before I joined MFP I weighed 280 pounds. I now weigh 198 and I did it without surgery. You only need to lose 30, you don't need to have surgery. If you take your time, do it right and stay strong, you can do this. Sure, it may take a little longer, but when you reach your goal you'll know that you've earned…

Definitely weights then cardio. That is what has worked for me and my wife. I usually do three workouts like that per week and then I take a day to do just cardio.
-
Awesome advice! I may just give it a try.
-
Maybe don't give it up yet. I managed on one a day for a while and now I only have 2 or 3 a week, sometimes none at all.

"Cochise" by Audioslave.

I agree with everyone. Good for you for sticking with it and not giving up.
-
Yeah, I agree. It's total BS. Cardio and weights go together like chocolate and peanut butter!. I've been working out like that for a long time and I never had any problems, I just keep improving.

You can still tone up with heavier weights, just remember to do your cardio too.
-
heavier weights will keep your metabolism burning longer.

I think you should worry more about what you're eating. Your diet accounts for something like 80 to 85 % of your weight loss. I think the extra workouts may be great for you, but just watch that you don't wear yourself out. Resting your muscles can be just as important as your workout.

I think that as much as you are working out, you should definitely keep your calorie count the same. If you change it, you are going to starve yourself and put your body in a catabolic state (starvation mode) and your metabolism will slow down. Eat healthy, eat often, and try to eat foods with only one ingredient.

I had this happen about a month ago. I originally had my calorie intake set to lose 2 pounds a week. For about 4 weeks strait I hit a plateau and couldn't lose any weight and I was extremely hungry all of the time. I then decided to change my weight loss goal to 1 pound a week and try some different foods in my diet such…

Best of luck to you. Just stick with it and you can't go wrong.

You're most likely gaining muscle. Have your body fat % measured, that's what really counts. Keep with your same style of workouts and check it every couple of weeks or so to see if you're losing body fat.
-
The key to eating healthy is eating foods with only one ingredient. (and cut the fat off of your meats)

I'm going to give myself a nice pat on the back!

Try logging it under circuit training.

Take a protein shake with you. You can get them in single serving bottles or cans. They will make you feel full for a while especially if you have some fruit with it.

Protein builds muscle. It's fine!

Best of luck to you!

EAS 100% Whey.

Start weight training if you're not already. You will continue to burn calories long after your workout is done. If you already are weight training then add some more weight to challenge yourself.

My Wife works a 12 hour night shift from 7 pm to 7 am three days a week. After midnight she starts logging in on the new day. I think it just saves her a little confusion that way. It seems to be working fine for her.

Both are equally important! I usually do 3 days a week where I'm weight training for about 40 minutes and running/walking for about 15 minutes. Then I do one day where I just do cardio for about 40 minutes. When you just do cardio you're only burning calories while you're running or walking. When you lift weights you…

Change your workout. Do something entirely different. Maybe a new weight routine with a little more weight to lift or do intervals on the treadmill instead of just running at the same pace for "X" amount of minutes. Challenge yourself, you will see some more results.

I Use EAS chocolate whey protein powder. Wasn't to keen on the taste in the beginning, but now that I'm used to it, I love it.
-
Squats are good for both. Also, eat a lot of protein.

I am a stay at home dad and I work out of my home running my own photography business. I mainly shoot weddings so I'm only gone for about 20 to 30 Saturdays out of the year and i meet with clients in my home office. Don't know if you're into photography, but it is a great way to make a living if you know what you're doing.
