Well welcome to the site! I know it will help you a LOT :) It's been a life-saver for me. It's actually kind of fun logging in everyday and figuring out my calories. I try to look at it like a game, and that makes it that much easier to do. Good luck!

Re-gift it? Give it away to a neighbor?

I don't know if you have one in your area, but we have a Scratch N Dent type of store. Where the cans are dented or the labels are a little ripped. They re-sell the items and they sell them a LOT cheaper! I buy boxes of 60+ cans of different kinds of beans for $7.00. Same with canned tomatoes. And it's awesome because the…

I completely agree with you here. I have been pretty steadily losing weight for the past 4 months... on NO exercise program. Once in a while (maybe once a week, maybe) I will go walk on a treadmill for 20 mins. Right now my main focus is my eating. Trying to stay within my calorie goals. I go over once in a while, like…

If you're not sure about your high/low settings on the crockpot, you can do the same thing in a double boiler on the stove, with the stove set to low/medium. Takes about 5 minutes that way. And yes, they are very yummy :) And if you don't have a double boiler, you can use a glass bowl set on top of a pan of water on top of…

Thanks everyone! :) And I do hope it's just the sodium, but even if it's not, it won't take me that long to lose the 3 pounds again. And yes, this long-weekend-away thing only happens about once a year, so I'm back on track again.

I don't have a Wii, but I can watch the videos youtube, and I LOVE it too :) It doesn't keep track of my personal points or anything, but it's still a great workout.

I wholeheartedly agree!!!

I agree with the "everything in moderation" idea. That's what I've been doing, and I don't feel deprived of anything. Don't think you CAN'T have something. That just makes you want it even more, and then you feel like this whole weightloss journey is too hard and nothing but work, work, work. That wouldn't cut it in my…

I would look up the restaurant's nutritional info online, and if they don't have a website, look up a Japanese one that does have a website, and pick out similiar foods off of that one. It might not be exact, but it probably will be pretty close. Enjoy :)…

I wouldn't be offended at all if it was from a friend that already knows that I'm trying to lose weight and get healthier. In fact, I asked my husband for a HRM for christmas :)

For me personally, I don't considering anything I eat to be cheating. I can eat whatever I want, as long as I stay within my calories. I do have bad days and go over, but I consider those bad days, not cheating. I don't prohibit any certain food, otherwise I will end up craving it so much, that when I do have it, I would…

I saw that at Walmart too, and the box was ripped open, so I took it out and tried it right there, and it seemed kinda dumb. I wouldn't waste my money on it personally.

I average a 10 lb loss per month, and I am not crash dieting. I basically just stay (or try to) within my allotted calories. I have my goals set to lose 1lb per month, but I guess my body has other ideas. I don't think what I'm doing is unhealthy by any means. I think everyone's body is different and will lose differently.…

I have my goals set to lose 1 pound per week, but I've been loosing 2+ pounds per week, averaging 10 pounds per month... I have no idea why because I usually eat most of my allotted calories each day. But I'm not complaining! :)

There are lots of different levels with PCOS. I have it too, but I am not restricted to a diabetic diet. I am fat simply because I have been lazy and ate without caring how much was going into my mouth. Now I'm just following the MFP guidelines, and staying within (most days) my calorie allotment. And I am losing weight :)…

I don't really consider anything I eat to be cheating. I allow everything in moderation. That way I don't have these cravings for certain foods and then over-indulge in them when I "allow" myself to cheat.

Why not just take a mulit-vitamin? That way you still have to train yourself to eat healthy meals?

I weigh myself just to see what my average weight gain is during TOM, but I don't log it in, because it's just water weight and will disappear as quickly as it came once I'm over TOM. Don't stress out about it. It's normal :)

Why doesn't anyone's weight loss match their ticker?? lol

Not sure about your hubby, but mine usally "sneaks" candy & junk when he goes to work :)

Bumping for the TJ Soup recipe.. sounds yummy!

I bought a PUR water filter pitcher a couple of months ago because our water at home stinks and is gross... the PUR filter makes it taste clean and fresh! I do have to replace the filter every couple of months, but it's a LOT cheaper for us than buying bottled water all the time.

lol Boston is actually the place most well known for baked beans.. and that's in the north :)

My go-to one dish meal that I make at least once a week: Brown rice, black beans (or whatever beans I have on hand), taco seasoning, cheese. We either just eat it like that, or eat with tortillas. Depending on what I have on hand, I may also add diced tomatoes, canned corn, bell peppers, salsa, onions, anything mexican....…

This will sound weird, but it's really good! My sister-in-law adds crushed or chunked pinapple to her baked beans, and that way doesn't have to add as much sugar... and they really taste great!

We are a family of 7 and buy our groceries anywhere from $60 - 100 a week (and that's including toilet paper, paper towels & everything else we need to buy at the store on a weekly basis) We also have a "bent & dent" store and can buy food CHEAP there! Example: Canned beans .10/can, Name brand Instant oatmeal with all the…
