It will really depend on what your goals are but both can lead to strength and muscle increases. Great article on it here. http://www.lookgreatnaked.com/blog/light-load-training-can-it-build-muscle/ I think the best thing most recreational lifters can do is pick a program that includes a variety or rep ranges. So if…

Resistance bands are not really a replacement for a good set of dumbbells but I use mine a lot and the price is right for the amount of resistance you can get up to. Resistance bands

Nice! That walk out was art. 3 steps, no wiggle, wobble or micro adjusting. Pro.

Well if you are not dropping weight then you are not in a calorie deficit. You are eating what you are burning already.

B12 and 200mg of caffeine (probably the only effective things in those pills) so you have energy enough to cook after work is ok I guess. My guess is something is off though. If you were working as hard as you say and only eating 500-1000 calories the weight would be melting off. 12 hours of hard manual labor would be in…

Its not an either/or option. Do a program based around the big compound movements. Supplement with a variety of assistance work. To the OP Hammer Curl Muscles Target Brachioradialis Synergists Brachialis Biceps Brachii Stabilizers Deltoid, Anterior Trapezius, Upper Trapezius, Middle Levator Scapulae Flexor Carpi Radialis…

I dont know if it matters or not but I only mentioned it for comparison purposes. Just like people who specify raw, beltless, knee wraps, high bar/low bar or other things. In some people it can change the amount you can lift.

285lbs deep with belt.

Naturally occurring trans fats can be found in some meat and dairy products but it is not the same as artificial trans fats and are usually pretty small amounts. I would not worry about it but you can decide for yourself.…

Incorrect blanket statements, derogatory name calling, stereotyping and attempted body bashing. Pretty amazing.

Not sure I understand what you are saying. Is the information Eric Helms presents in the videos contradicting Layne Norton or incorrect because of its geographic location? ;)
-
As you said, he is not trying to grow muscle. Recovery may be an issue but that will depend on the program, diet, age, and other factors. The blanket statement that he should never do it or that real athletes know better than to do it was the issue that people had.

Also the idea that moderate weight for higher reps is for toning and not body building is also mostly incorrect. The "body building" part of most programs are exactly that, moderate weights in higher reps ranges. For most people "toning" means maintaining your current muscle and losing body fat. You can do this this with a…

It probably wont be a problem for what you are describing. There are really no absolutes in fitness. Intense high volume training for multiple days in a row might eventually burn you out, stop being effective, make it hard to recover from and/or lead to injury. Its also not necessary for just general health and fitness but…

You called me a bitter person. Not sure why there was need to attack me personally and yet you feel you were the one who was "jumped on". If there was any attack on my part it was against dry brushing.
-
I did not jump on you and later explained my snark when you said there was no reason for it. Not sure why you need to make this personal by calling me names.

Are you asking me or elphie754? Because I dont know the answer.

Reread. I did not say exfoliating excess dead skin was ridiculous. Natural only bristles, towards the heart, for improved circulation, scar or cellulite reduction, and/or toxin removal is. As for the blood flow or lymph system direction I will look that up. If it was as scary important as it sounds maybe you should have…

The "snark" was to illustrate the ridiculousness of the whole idea. Exfoliating excess dead skin can be ok but even with "natural" (you didnt say soft) bristles it can cause skin irritation or even infection if done too much. If you got rid of all the dead skin cells you would be down to live skin. Think about that for a…

Natural bristles towards the heart? Synthetic bristles interfere with the magic I suppose.
