Alton Brown Hard Cooked Eggs.
Turn out awesome. The yolks are perfectly done. Almost buttery instead of chalky. They even peel easily. Had to share. http://youtu.be/1faC1B8WSI0

Fat boy syndrome.
Former fat boy syndrome. :) Seriously I have been struggling with gaining weight (fat) for the 2.5 years since I lost 50lbs. Last January I was up 10 pounds from my lowest. This was a mixture of bulking and cutting while logging my food as accurately as I could. A year later I am up another 10 pounds and this was without…

Weightlifting for children
So the other day I was watching a video of Sarauk2sf deadlift 325lbs for a state record. I called my wife over to watch and of course my girls (3 and 7) came over also. They were all excited about how strong she was and the girls proceeded to go get the dumbbells we have and start showing us how strong they were. LOL…

Shins and dead lifts.
My shins are pretty beat up from todays dead lifts. I try to lift with the bar close to my shins without rubbing too much but the heavier I go the worse it gets. I dont even feel it while Im lifting. Is this a bad thing or something I should try to correct or should I just get some longer socks and live with it?

Wrist wraps for bench
Whats your opinion on using wrist wraps for heavy bench press. I have been lifting for almost three years now and never had any issue with wrist pain or soreness until the last couple of heavy lifting days. Started to feel a little pain around where my thumb meets my wrist on my left side. I really dont want to develop any…

Bulk/cut cycle durations
Do you go by time limits or body fat %? With either, do you set a minimum duration for your bulk? Is there a benefit/detriment to cycling often? Do increase/decrease cals slowly, all at once, or incorporate a maintenance period between?

Deload week
Necessary or not? Finished the 3rd week of 5/3/1 and next week is supposed to be the deload week. I have to admit it seems kind of pointless to me. I feel strong. Soreness in my muscles has been gone within 2 days of working them. I totally understand taking it easy if you are feeling worn down but is scheduling every…

Retaining LBM
Was just crunching some number after reading a "lose fat gain muscle" thread. Like others I thought I was gaining some muscle and losing fat when I first started. And I very well could have been according to most people that is possible for new lifters. But very quickly the mass gains stopped and I lost the majority of my…

Pickles
Just had one as a snack and when I went to log it found out there are 0 calories in it. Some sodium is the only thing that shows up on the nutrition label. I loved pickles before but now I know what to go for when I get a little munchy.

Reached my original goal weight.
Well as of this morning I now weigh 170 lbs. I started working out in Sept 2011 after reaching 210 pounds. It took me until today to loose 40 lbs. No diets or pills or workout programs. Just lifting weights, cardio at least 4 days a week and counting calories. I picked 170 as my goal weight because I thought 40 lbs was a…

Fitness Superstitions
Anyone have rituals, medallions, power tattoos, good luck charms, or the like for fitness? I know in many sports things like this are common. Be interesting to hear what you guys have or do for better results. Mine is probably my favorite pair of workout shorts. I bought them when I started and somehow got the idea that I…

Mustgetmuscles1 NSV
Well I think its time for a new belt. On the last hole and it is still a little loose. Was up at 38" waist and now Im down to 34". I had to buy some new pants and shorts also. Best of all though is that I no longer have any sciatica. I would get bad pain in my right hip and down through my leg because my belt would have to…

Cadbury Creme Egg
Always kind of a tradition at my house to eat one around Easter. Loved them as a kid, not as spectacular now. : ) Anyways had some calories to burn yesterday and went ahead and ate one...you know, to uphold tradition. BLARG! That outta hold me over until next year.
