Watched the Layne Norton video on metabolic damage that was posted the other day.

I have also watched many of the videos with Eric Helms and how he incorporates them into his clients diets.
Was just looking for opinions and information on incorporating them into my next cut.

^All these calories were NET intake as I follow the exercise calorie model. After dieting for almost a whole year. Hit a plateau towards the end and had to drop cals down around 1500 (NET)to keep losing. Decided to eat at "maintenance" for a month and then started losing again at 1800. When I started my bulk in Sept I raised my cals up to 2300+workout and gained 3 pounds really fast but then could not gain any weight at those cals. Raised again to 2500 to start gaining again and even that has started to slow down on weight gain.

Will watch this soon and post later. Thanks for linking it, I've been meaning to watch this.0

Interesting and informative video, but the information was all in the context of contest prep. If you're interested in how the average joe might incorporate refeeds, take a look at Lyle McDonald's Guide to Flexible Dieting.0

I have been doing this since I my last show in October of 2012. Calories have slowly been increasing. I went from 2100kcal to 3200kcal. My weight still has not been stable. The primary focus is the increasing of carbs, which were being increased by 25 grams every week. Now, that my weight is starting to become stable, weekly increases have dropped to 10g+. I currently have a redline of a stable 205 in place.
I will continue to slowly increase calories up to 205. I am hoping I will be able to consume 800g's a day. Regarding refeeds, I have a weekly refeed of 550g of carbs.0 -

Thanks I will look it up and that is a great point about this being mostly for contest prep. It is very unlikely I will ever have to cut for that long again. I will continue to do the bulk/cut cycle but wont be trying to get to the kind of body fat level of a competitor.0 -
besides the fact that I am not a competitor this video is what I needed my metabolism is so messed up, like maintain between 1200-1500 calories
Thank you!!!!0 -

This one talks about Leptin. Not sure if that is the whole story with refeeds but it is interesting.

I with I had seen these a year ago as not doing any kind of refeed is almost certainly how I effed up my previous attempt at cutting,0 -
This is super helpful stuff! I think I've been naturally re-feeding this weekend. Absolutely cannot get enough carbs, but I'm ending up at about maintenance cals for the day. I'm curious to see what will happen energy wise in the gym this week and scale wise later in the week.0
