So you're saying vegetarians should just be quiet and meek and go elsewhere? As it happens many places don't even think about vegetarian options because it doesn't occur to them. I have suggested more veggie options at places before and gone back the next month to find out they listened to me! So no, i won't just put up…

Had a really pleasant surprise last night when popping to the local pub with some friends after an all day workshop. They all ordered food and I asked the barmaid if they had anything vegetarian. Yes she said, we have this, this, this, this, this, this, this.... lol! It was all thai food but she said to me in advance you…

I'm finding the best thing is to input on MFP the night before what you plan to eat the next day. That gives you a rough idea of how many you might have left over for impromptu snacks/ drinks etc :)

There are polar ones on ebay for £15 and under lol

Pescetarians are not classed as vegetarians. They eat fish and dairy product, but no red or white meat.

I always find the best options in Thai restaurants. The ones near us have upwards of 10 pure veggie meals.. mostly made with tofu or just vegetables.

Yay just had a 60 min personal training session on TRX and can finally do 10 continuous knee pull ins (fancy term for this?) with feet in stirrups, 10 on left leg, 10 on right, 10 with one knee kept in and the other pulling in/ out wooo, all the things i found really hard before. So now we've added a move where you pull…

Because man prides himself on being conscious of his actions and knowing the difference between right and wrong, and between need and want. Ever tried to stop a lion getting to its prey?

Not with slaughter houses, and mass waste it isn't. Living among the animals you need for food, understanding them, killing them with respect, and using every part, is a very different thing to what we do today (i.e buy pre-packaged battery farmed meat, flown in from hundreds of miles away, all nice and tidy and devoid of…

So working on eric's formula above, does 20% protein, 25% fat, and 40% carbs sound ok?

Thanks guys. I am trying to lose a little weight (15lbs). Don't know how accurate it is, but according to an online body fat calculator my % is 22.23 Oh and I'm working out for 60 - 90 mins 5/6 times per week including cardio and strength.

It matters in so far as labels are how we understand the world. If we didn't label or classify or mentally sort through things that are and are not, or might, or would, or should, or could be.. we would be lost. Personally I'd prefer not to have the same annoying conversation with people over and over again about how i'm…

I was responding to the title of the thread

We pescetarians do tend to eat other animal products like eggs, milk etc, so i don't think that's what she's after.. Just found this and think it might answer your question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111008114642AAopq9w Macrobiotic (eats unprocessed whole foods and occasional fish) Or if you want a…

We still have to explain!! I would be rich if i had a penny for everytime i've had this same conversation: Them: So is chicken ok for dinner? Me: No I don't eat meat, only fish Them: Oh so you're a vegetarian? Me: No, I'm a pescetarian Them: What's a pescetarian? Me: A person who eats fish but no other animal Them:…

What utter tosh! Pescetarian (with very little fish consumption) here for nearly 20 years. As with ANY sort of eating plan, you can be lacking in nutrition unless you eat a properly balanced diet full of vitamins and minerals, vegetarianism is no different. But generally, all the studies relating to vegetarian diets being…

Now hang on, do you eat olive oil? if so you can't call yourself a olivopoopatarian:blushing:

You cannot rightly add the term "vegan" to anything relating to eating the flesh of a living creature. Perhaps just say "i eat fish but no other animal or animal products"? I often have to explain to people about me being a pesetarian and not "vegetarian", as vegetarians do not eat flesh of any kind. Confusing i know, but…

Thanks Sabine. Wow that's some big difference in carbs!!!!:noway: I'm in the UK so i believe our Asda IS Walmart.. but this stuff is the only protein shake thing they do, and the slimfast stuff which didn't look as good. Apparently holland and barret have a good alternative so i might try theirs and see how we go. Anyone…

Sometimes I am under my protein for the day, and i work out pretty hard 5 - 6 times per week so i want it as a shake for after the gym, to up my protein etc.

Good on you for sourcing out alternatives to battery farmed/ long hauled eggs. Don't be too put off by what one of the posters above said about this - one saying I have always lived by is you cannot change the world overnight, you can only change the way you percieve it. Similar to "be the change you wish to see in the…

I'm a veggie for over 19 years, well, pescetarian really. I still haven't watched earthlings as I already know what goes on.. did my school work placement in a slaughter house lol (yes i'm weird, but i also believe you don't have the right to an opinion unless it's an informed one!) Meat substitutes - Quorn (can get all…

I always wear makeup to the gym. Learnt that lesson the first day i went and noticed the fashion parade, and thought no fricking way i'm letting them look me up and down like i'm some loser. I'm putting my war paint on LOL! I don't make so much effort with my clothes because i just can't afford the expensive matching…

Since age 25 i think i was starting to gain a little weight naturally anyway, but between age 26 - 28 i drank a LOT of hot chocolates every day while running a bar, with whipped cream, marshmallows, the works, sometimes up to 5 a day!!! Eek. Add that to drinking more alcohol and voila... i'm pretty sure I can pinpoint my…

Can you link if you find one pretty please? I missed it too. Haven't watched religiously but would love to see the outcome.

Thanks for the chart. As a veggie it's hard to find good protein foods, mainly because they're not so widely marketed or promoted as meat/ fish. I just went out today and bought a vegetarian suitable protein shake powder (measure up from asda), and loads of avocados, nuts, olive oil etc. Tofu and Quorn contain a lot of…

Bump... anyone can comment. I'd like to know how this measures up against more expensive shakes/ protein replacers etc

Palmers cocoa butter!! It's the best moisturiser ever, apply liberally all over your body including a little through the hair which should help stop dryness :drinker:
