  • Keep logging your food EVERY DAY and log EVERYTHING! Keeping it up front where you can actually see what you're consuming definately helps!
  • Get out and WALK!!! I started in January and I'm down 45 lbs! I've only recently added biking to my workouts. Another idea, get a hula hoop! Works wonders on the "tummy".
  • I've definitely lost some....which is fine with me. I'm staying proportionate to my bodies weight loss. Get a real good sports bra. Now I can wear a shirt with buttons not having to worry if its gaping or not!
  • Find a friend to help keep you motivated. I'm sure its disheartening when your spouse doesn't want to see you improve yourself. Try to keep a positive attitude (which is difficult) but finding someone who wants to workout with you and support you can be found here on MFP. Good luck and I'm sure you'll get all kinds of…
  • I usually take the lower number so that if I am truly burning more, the better weight loss I'll have.
  • special K bars, fruits, veggies, laughing cow, string cheese, wraps, weight watchers dark chocolate and raspberry ice cream bars for a great treat!
  • I keep logged on all day and check in often to read posts etc.... This is the best tool to keep "up front and center" my caloric intake and output! It really makes me think and re-think my choices!
  • I weigh myself first thing in the morning before workouts or food and use this number as the "official" number.
  • I don't have her cookbook, however, I do get daily emails with ideas and recipes. Some show better choices vs bad choices. You can sign up at hungrygirl.com to get these daily emails. Some days you will get recipes and some days just tips. Check it out!
  • Thank you all for the great ideas. I love the idea of buying 1/2 cup size containers. Thank you. I've had the flax wraps and make a whole chicken and love the leftovers. The ideas of black beans, string cheese and rice too. Thanks. I know I can always count on all the great people here on MFP for ideas.
  • I can't say that I've experienced what you have, but I do know that since I've tracked every calorie I've taken in and every calorie I've expended (through exercise) keeps in mind what I'm doing. I don't "cheat" recording my intake or output and to date, I've lost 19 lbs since January 3rd. I think this site is great…
  • Jolly Time has a 100 Calorie pack of microwave popcorn which is truly satisfying....another option is Weight Watchers has a fantastic ice cream stick to satisfy a chocolate craving. Its dark chocolate with raspberry ice cream at only 80 calories.
  • Thank you for responding to me. I just took a look back at my food diary over the past few weeks and DID notice that my sodium intake was over most days. I will add Wii Fit to my workout routine too and watch the sodium. I don't have too much processed foods although I've been eating Krakus ham in wraps and think that…
  • It all has to start somewhere. Begin by making small changes. Substitute club soda with lemon, or water with lemon instead of the soda. Make "oven fries" by changing out the white potatoes with sweet potatoes. Portion control is key! Measure, Measure, Measure. Pay attention to serving sizes on packaging. For my chocolate…

  • thank you everyone for your input.....
  • It is widely accepted by physiologists that generally it takes about 28 days to change a habit. This means that you must live consciously for 4 weeks, deliberately focusing on whatever change it is that you wish to make. After the 4 weeks are up, the change is permanent. Great!
  • Way to go! Keep doing what you're doing. It's working!

  • I too came back in January after being away for about 10 months. I'm back on track now and almost weigh what I did when I left last year. This time, I'm staying until I reach my goal!!!
  • WOW.....I've seen myself in just about everyone here. I go crazy if I leave the closet door open just a little bit and find that I have to go back to fully close it. I find that I drive my hubbie crazy 'cuz he doesn't do things the same way I do. (like adding the laundry detergent to the water before adding any clothes) I…
