  • Just checking in... I only have 80 days to go, where did the time go?! It seems to be flying by way too quickly! Our nursery is not even close to being ready, and my list of things to get and to do seems to be getting bigger every day. At least I have the bassinet set up and ready, and the crib is already here (although…
  • Doubletnurse, I'm so glad that your baby is doing well! But all those extra tests and doctors appointments must be a bit of a pain... Anyway, I am sending positive thoughts your way and hoping you and the little one are going to make it full term!
  • Eating healthy on a budget can be a challenge. If you have some time for prep (or a slow cooker), you can whip up some very inexpensive and healthy meals. Try making some soups, brown rice with lentils or beans, hummus etc. It will definitely be cheaper and healthier than buying fries. Also, don't lose motivation, we all…
  • I love this blog: http://budgetbytes.blogspot.ca/search/label/vegetarian... She uses very easy ingredients and has a ton of vegetarian-friendly recipes there. I use those recipes all the time, and they are so easy to follow!
  • You can never go wrong with something that you make yourself, so fresh homemade juice is alway preferable! The v8 can be a quick fix if you are looking for a healthier snack or to supplement a couple of fruit/veggie servings you're missing a day.... However, be careful with sodium and sugar in those!
  • *bump* I'm expecting my first right now, so this definitely a topic of interest for me
  • Hi! I'm 26 weeks with my first baby, so very close to the trird trimester already.... I've gotten back to mfp after Christmas, trying to keep it up as a motivation to keep track of what I'm eating. Feel free to add me if you're looking for friends!
  • For me it's mostly sugar! I try to be good and just eat a ton of fresh fruit, but apparently for the baby girl a banana is not a replacement for ice-cream with chocolate sauce LOL. I hope i don't fail by glucose test on Monday because of it!
  • I got back to logging only by week 24, so now at the end of the second tri it's set at gain 0.5 lb/week and I think I'm going to keep it this way. This gives me roughly 2100 calories, and i try to stay within that limit.
  • Hi! I'm a ftm, and I didn't feel the baby move until 21 weeks.... I do have anterior placenta, so it blocks a lot of the movement, and even now at 25 weeks she rarely kicks hard enough for my hubby to feel. At first I thought it was just my tummy rumbling and not the baby moving, it's so subtle at first! So don't be…
  • Obum88, no nausea in the last few weeks *knock on wood*... sorry that you're still struggling with that! Are you on any meds to help with morning sickness?
  • I agree with pp, you definitely need to check with your doctor first. And in terms of food, try focusing on servings rather than calories. The good old food pyramid wants us to eat mostly veggies and fruit, whole grains, milk products, meat and occasional treat (in that order). So if you try to get those 7-8 servings of…
  • Hi ladies! I just found this group and topic, and would like to join in. I'm a ftm, expecting my baby girl on April 27th (jus tlike Leight84 above). I've stopped logging since I got pregnant, but now that I've gained weight faster in the past 6 weeks with all the Christmas candy, decided to keep track of what's going on.…
  • That's what I did, and the band was the best $20 spent ever! I have a couple of maternity pants and jeans, but at 25 weeks wear mostly my regular office pants to work with the belly band.
  • Thanks for the tip! I only got some yoga pants from Motherhood, and they are definitely comfy, but they tend to slip down if I move around. I will have to check out what Old Navy has in stock and get some new pants
  • Hi everyone! I'm currently 25 weeks 2 days with my first pregnancy and so far it's been mostly positive experience for me =) In the up until 22 weeks I've been doing Zumba, but now it's getting a bit too bouncy for my growing belly.... So I keep on doing yoga (prenatal class plus some at home), and in the last couple of…
  • Logging definitely helps! Before I started logging what I eat, I had a vague idea about the nutrients that were going in my body... With MFP I actually know that I need to eat more of a certain macro or micronutrient, and remember to drink my water.
  • what a difference! great job, keep it going!
  • The only way i can forse myself to work out is if i have literally 0 travel time. So now i'm fortunate, because I can go to the gym at my university and do some group fitness there in the lunch hour. This is so convenient! I had a membership to another gym years ago, but could never drag myself there (about 20 minute…
  • that looks amazing! *heading out for a bunch-a-bananas!*
  • Kinda boring today: brown rice with simple guacamole, some grape tomatoes and bell peppers.
