Thanks, all. These replies have been really helpful to me, too! :flowerforyou: I MUST cut my carb intake and up the protein. Will do.

Me, too, girlfriend! I hate the torture of food cravings! But I have found help. Someone I love and trust recommended garcinia cambogia to me as an appetite suppressant. It is made from the rind of the tamarind fruit. You may have seen Dr. Oz recommend it on TV. I have taken it for 3 days and it works for me. Your case may…

I have seen a troll or two around the boards, people. Just sayin'.

I started my fitness journey in March, after my 67th birthday on 02/22. I had a scary bloodpressure crisis and my doctor urged (ordered?) me to lose 25 lbs. or risk a stroke. So I joined MFP, then I joined the YMCA. My beginning exercise was only 1 hour in the aqua cardio pool. I was in a size 18 bathing suit at that time.…

Today my trainer at the YMCA raised the weights on all my weight machines! He said, "Those weights are not challenging you now. You need to up them, they're too easy for you." OMG, I am getting stronger - AT THE AGE OF 67! I have made a vow - I can't avoid getting older, but I'll be darned if I will get old and FEEBLE. I…

That is so great, Kim55555!!!!! Also, for me - I had to return a new pair of workout pants. They were too large! Can I get a woo-HOO!?!

I hope somebody else thinks this is as awesome as I do. A lady in my aqua cardio class said to me, "You look like you are disappearing!" And I am not losing much weight while adusting to EM2WL, just much more toned now and I've lost in inches/partial inches almost everywhere. :-)

I started my fitness challenge in March, after my birthday on 02/22) These are my current stats and the changes are in parentheses. That is an amazing accomplishment. Your body shows remarkable improvement. Keep it up!

*LOL* Mine WOULD, but only in an industrial strength bra. Bad case of "rock in sock". I'm a member of Mothers Against Gravity. It's getting better as I tone up and lose fat, though. Congrats on your 30-pound loss!
-
I got up my nerve to measure my body parts and guess what? I lost 2 inches off each of my thighs! Yay. I credit the water aerobics as well as finally eating right.

The past is gone. The future has not yet arrived. All we ever have is the present moment. You can always start over. Now. Chinese saying - Fall down 7 times, get up 8. And please remember, this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change. Best of luck.
-
Just finished my second week of struggling to eat more each day :-) I'll get there, though. But as to NSVs, here ya go: 1. Lost 2" in my thighs 2. Lost a pound 3. Bought a size smaller bathing suit. 3. Got compliments! Some ladies in my water aerobics class told my friend I was looking good and asked her if I was doing…

Me too, Shanniebug. One week in and just holding steady. (sigh) Stuffing all that food down and it's not having any effect yet. I continue to keep up my same exercise level (3Xweek) and just hope to see some change soon. I suppose we must try to be patient.

It's a complete lifestyle change, not a diet. You will become more and more in touch with your own body as this fitness plan for life becomes a habit. As to how to stay motivated - motivated to live? We are all motivated to live - you just need to add one word to that, "Healthy"! You can do it. Specifically, you might want…

Water aerobics, "chair" aerobics (all exercises are done sitting in or standing next to a chair w/one hand on it), walking your dog, recumbent bike. Got a bad knee and I can do all of these.

Weight loss is 80% what you're eating. You know the correct number of calories to eat in order to lose, and you DID eat properly when you were enjoying your fitness plan. There's a way to keep enjoying it. You can give your knees a break for as long as it takes for them to recover. You can do your exercise the easy way,…

Keep reading this Motivation and Support forum. Especially the thread by Official Epic titled "ask me anything..." He is a fitness counselor and trainer and such a sensible, great guy. Here's a little gem from him - "If you are not losing, you are eating too much for your activity level." Doi. Really, we just need to find…

One word for your commenters, honey. Jealousy. You are doing a great thing for your health, and you just keep on keepin' on! :flowerforyou:

Thanks for posting that Non Scale Victory! It's inspiring to hear about another's progress. :flowerforyou:

Thank you for sharing. Just thank you for that positive note in my day. You keep on keepin' on, guy!

Log in all your food for the day ahead of the time you are going to eat it. Arrange your day to have at least 3 snacks - one after each meal, including supper. Make those snacks healthy! Frequent small meals might totally get rid of your urge to binge. It has helped me at least resist 95% of those urges.
-
That's fantastic. You're an inspiration.

I'm 67 and have had so many health difficulties/challenges I can't even list them, but they include a paralysis following my 3rd spinal operation that took me a year to recover from. I attend my local YMCA, do water aerobics 3x a week, chair aerobics 2x a week on the alternate days. Walk my dog daily. Rheumatoid arthritis…

Zuchinni. And tuna.

Omigosh, look at you! You are a twig! Keep it up.

That's a wonderful landmark victory! Congrats, and keep on keepin' on.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Your post gives me hope for someone I love who is struggling. Keep on keepin' on!

Can't help you there. I rode my bike daily in Chicago to work and back. Two different a-holes tried to kill me. One hit me on purpose at an intersection and laughed as he slowly drove past and shouted, "streets are for cars". The other one waited beside his parked car as I came downhill fairly fast and opened his car door…
