I went with the velcro one for my ankle. I use a specific pair of shoes that are only for running. So, to make sure that I never forget it, I just attach the RoadID to the shoes when I get back from a run.

RoadID. I went with the "Interactive" version so I can always update info as it changes (health insurance, moving, etc) without having to worry about ordering a new plate. My ex breathed a huge sigh of relief when I got it in. It turned out that she'd stress all the time about something happening to me out there and me…

Great concept, and I love it. dailymile.com has a similar feature. Even factoring in visible wear and tear, it's good for my ego to see just how many miles I've put on these puppies :)

Bicycle shorts underneath a pair of regular shorts. It's the only solution that allows me to run comfortably for multiple - um, carrying and jostling - reasons. Not all of them are suitable to the task, though. Buy a single pair and test before buying extras. I've had no luck with one particular UnderArmor product (no…

Jelly legs, FTW.

I'm too paranoid about a stray piece of glass to go "true" barefoot when running. I wear Vibram Bikilas for running and everyday use, and a pair of Vibram KSO Trek shoes for my day job. As is mentioned everywhere, ease into it. Your feet will toughen up over time. Once you become used to it, and your muscles toughen, you…

For everyday/training running, I don't know that I have a favorite distance. Once I switched to Vibrams (minimalist shoes), I was forced to change my running/impact style and found that I actually enjoy it. This is after years of running in races just to prove to myself that I'm still capable. For races, the marathon wins.…

I tend to keep popcorn available as a snack all the time (work and home). I usually just add some garlic powder.

It's not always a case of not reading the instructions. Sometimes it's the idiocy of the "Eh, it can't be that bad, can it?" mentality. Not that I'd know, nor would have tried such a method, yielding life-altering results  *ahem* That said, I loved the comment: "Awesome product. 5 out of 5. Give it someone you hate as…

Great job!

Recipe bump.

Congrats! And good luck on the half-marathon in December!

I add every item (excluding spices when cooking). I've even saved a "meal" entry for coffee that includes the honey and the creamer that I add just to simplify adding a repeatable entry in my log. My thought is that if I'm going to be making an honest effort, I need to be honest about what I'm doing and eating.

It's the only way to go. There should be a PSA.

My first 5K was 10 years ago this May. I completed it in 34:03. In general, I tend to hover around the 30 minute mark. I've done them with some prior training, and some completely "cold" ("What?! That's tomorrow?"). My time still remains within the same window of 30-35 minutes. My PR is currently 29:22. I've run 5Ks, 10Ks,…

No doubt.

OK, I'm human... bump.

My ex-wife always turned to Title Nine (http://www.titlenine.com/). From what she said, they were more pricey than she was used to, but completely worth it. Plus they lasted a particularly long time.

Fantastic job! Good luck with the tailor. Of all the problems to come as a result, that's a pretty good one.

The mirror isn't lying. Your brain might be, but the mirror isn't. Side note: Love the ink!

This. Seriously. Besides, in the end, the only one that you'll answer to is yourself. The fact that you're making a conscious effort puts you far beyond where so many others are staying stagnant.

No contest: #1

Yeah, it's a slow start. I made it through about 20 and was breathing heavily. Now I just need to figure out how to categorize it on MFP. I can see this becoming part of a daily wake-up routine, though.

That's a great idea! Plus a great addition for my exercise routine. I refuse to go to a gym for anything beyond treadmills in the snowy/icy season, so I'm always looking for more bodyweight exercise options.

Just had a similar discussion with a friend this morning. For really good post-workout stretching, I'm a big fan of yoga.

+1 for the Couch to 5k programs. There are plenty of free training guides online to get you started. Everyone asking me about getting started with a running program usually ends up getting directed down this same route.

Ink. I never really cared about tattoos when I was younger, but it's definitely something that draws me in now.
