  • This is the same story for me! I wonder how many people got interested in yoga after getting on the wii balance board..?? lol Have you tried the Bryan Kest videos? I've got an old one (from 1993) and it's very challenging and fast-paced. One of the best videos in my collection. I don't know Jillian Michael's but I'll check…

I was wearing my heart rate monitor this morning during my Power Yoga session and I burned 370 calories in one hour. I've heard that Bikram yoga (vigorous yoga poses done in an heated room over 100…

  • Another thing... for those who thinks I'm doing the Gandhi diet =) my aim is to get 1200 NET calories a day. That means when I go to the gym and burn out 300 calories, I'm eating a total worth of 1200+300 = 1500 calories that day, in order to get 1200 NET calories. No rocket science in it, I'm just following MFP advice…
  • Thanks for your concern! I do track my body fat index using measurements (waist, hips, neck, wrist, foream) I went from 22.5 in july to 20 two days ago. To me, that means I´m losing fat, or am I totally wrong?? Don´t know about the water loss though, but I´m sure keeping hydrated all the time (8 cups a day or more) And…

I'm now down to 83 kg (183 pounds) in a little more than 3 weeks. and Yes, I keep track of my body fat percentage (was 22%, and now I'm down to 20.5 %), by updating…
  • Keep up to Yoga and you will soon witness its benefits and how it re-shapes both your body and your soul. Flexibility and strength will come as long as you keep practicing... don't give it up!
  • Congrat's on your first 5th!! Just like you, I just lost 5 pounds with MFP in less than a week, so I know it works! My goal is also to eat no more 1200 calorie each day, and I managed to do it so far by following those 3 simple rules: 1) Breakfast > Lunch > Dinner I ate almost 700 calories during breakfast, then about 300…
  • Remember that it's not HOW you do the pose that it is important.. There's no such thing as a "perfect" pose in yoga, and yoga magic will work for you if you keep your breathing fluid and natural, while going into the pose the pose as deep as YOU CAN, but without "forcing it". It has to feel challenging for your body, but…
  • Hi MrsSki! Rodney Yee's videos are great and I suggest you check a couple of them, such as slow burn yoga or Yoga AM/PM. Both features poses that are relatively easy to follow but still produce a great workout Enjoy & Namaste
  • Rodney Yee videos are indeed the best. I learned a lot though them. Has any of you try Kundalini Yoga? I've been told the spiritual awareness you got through it is truly amazing..!

  • They are very good indeed - AM/PM Yoga and Yoga for beginners are good for starting your practice and learning poses
  • Totally agree.. Rodney Yee videos are the best! make sure to start with the beginner ones, in order to learn the poses, then move to more advanced ones... Power Yoga Total Body workout and Slow Burn Yoga are my favorite ones. I practised them almost on daily basis
  • I suggest you try Rodney Yee's POWER YOGA Total Body video - It's only one hour long, and you can get it for a few bucks on amazon It's as challenging as Yoga X but I found that the peace of mind and tranquility you got afterwards are much greater ...
  • I'm praticing regularly vinyasa and power yoga (3-4 times a week at my gym club) I just tried Bikram yoga this morning, and I was totally exhausted!! I loved it but I don't think I'm ready for doing it intensively though, and will stick to a slower and cooler yoga form for the time being. Have you tried Kundalina yoga?…
