you can also try to take one half in the morning (after your breakfast) and the other half in the evening (after your dinner) That will give you the same daily intake, with half of the nauseous feeling. Chances are you might even not feel nauseous at all! It's also better for you because it regulates the amount of vitamins…

Thanks Robin and Azdak! I was wondering the same, and you're probably right: all this math is not worth it actually...

Azdak is talking about Tabata workouts, which are short and incredibly effective (actually more beneficial for your body than conventional circuit training) I do mine using a free tabata clock (www.tabatatimer.com) that I set up for 24 mn (3 Tabata x 8 mn each) and I used it for sequencing a circuit training video. For…

Human body is about 60% water.. so drink plenty and replenish yourself - it will keep you healthy!

Could'nt agree more - just enjoy Thanksgiving, Christmas and all those big dinners that gather all the family together. There's nothing more important in life than being happy and spending time with your family =)

Great article.. indeed I would not follow his diet, but it did highlight the fact that the key for losing weight is reducing moderately your daily calories intake.. I was expecting him to get skinnier but it's interesting to note that he also did get healthier in the process. How come?

Where is my mind - by the Pixies That's goosebumps guaranteed for me when I start hearing Kim Deal's vocals!

I'm from Bordeaux area, in good old France - but I've been living in Villahermosa, Mexico for 7 years now..!

here's a great site that will bring up a free Tabata clock on your computer: http://www.tabatatimer.com/ There's also a lot of free Tabata/HIIT timer available on the internet for blackberry/Android/iPod

TABATA is based on the same principles, but it's even shorter in time: run for 20s / walk for 10s do that for 8 period. That's give you a 4mn training. You can apply that to cycling, running, strength training and so on. You can also find free HIIT and TABATA timers for iPhones or Android

Excellent post and very well written.. thank you for sharing this.

How do you do the fitness test on the FT7? I own one as well, and I looked through the manual and googled it as well, but it seems that only the FT40 and higher models are including this fitness test feature.. Please share =)

Power Yoga is my favorite thing - I do one hour each morning on a daily basis, and yes it helped to tone up my body. I burn an average of 450 cal on each workout. I've tried Ashtanga yoga as well, but Power Yoga is a little more fast-paced and I like it better. I never did Bikram Yoga, but I've heard it's the most intense…

weight loss is 70% diet, 30% exercise. So make sure you're getting an healthier diet, keep away from processed food as much as you can, keep your sugar/sodium intake in MFP recommended intakes values (check your food diary for tracking how good you're doing with that), and drink plenty of water. Stick with this plan at…

Once a week, every sunday morning I step up religiously on my Wii balance board... As Ashlee said, this is a preference thing, there is no right or wrong answer... so just do what seems right for you! That being said, make sure you always use the same scale and weight yourself at the same time of the day, you will track…

I will try it - thanks for sharing!

Thanks Azdak! I was just trying to figure that out myself and you just made my life easier. I will go for a FT7 then

The elliptical trainer is awesome! It's part of my workout as well, especially while I'm on business trip (30% of the time!). Helps me to shed those extra calories from restaurants and hotel room service! I also love it gives you both cardio and a total body work out. I'm a guy who absolutely hates weight lifting. other…

I've got exactly the same story! It's only when I started counting calories that I started losing weight!
-
Congratulations with your weight loss so far! Remember that as for fat burning, 70% comes from reducing your daily intake, and 30% from exercise. So make sure you keep your calorie intake to the amount recommend by MFP - and you should be good to go! Don't eat less calories that what MFP recommend you or otherwise you can…

Thanks for the article - very instructive!

As for exercising, here's my 2 cent's : if your hotel doesn't feature gym facilities, then bring a couple of home workout dvds with you, a laptop or dvd player and a travel yoga mat (Gaiam's travel mat for instance is quite good). Depending what you fancy most, you can do 1hour of power yoga (Rodney Yee or Bryan Kest…

Couldn't agree more!

Not sure whether this applies or not, but practicing yoga might help you feeling better. The enlightenment and energy you feel after a yoga session soothe both body and mind. You don't have to go a yoga studio if you don't feel like it, just use an home video if you prefer (Rodney Yee or Shiva Rea for instance)
