  • Let the eggs sit at room temp for about an hour before boiling. this makes for easy peeling. Submerge in cold water after you stop boiling to keep the eggs from continuing to cook, and and turning green.
  • I'm glad you had a nice time with family. It's been a weekend full of family drama for us..... and I'm exhausted. I mowed the entire lawn last nite and this morning... something I wasn't supposed to be doing, but I was trying to take some pressure off my daughter. I think its time for a nap now. lol
  • Chocolate Mini Wheat little bites... satisfies my chocolate craving, and provides me with 90 % of my iron needs too.
  • My ex standing over me at 3 oclock in the morning watching me sleep... oh wait, that really happened. How about this... anything to do with a spider. For years I had recurring giant spider dreams the size of a human.
  • They are learning more and more about cholesterol every day. For example, it's not necessarily bad if your cholesterol isn't low, now they're saying the size of the particals is more important. You might want to check it out! Also, I know someone who eats healthy, but has a triglycerides level of 600. His doctor says part…
  • Each of us is at a different point in our journey... never feel like you are cheating. Those who are in excellent shape probably shouldn't count it, but those of us who are a work in progress may want to depending on your fitness level. I am recovering from radiation, and cleaning is really a challenge for me so of course…
  • Instead of obsessing about your age... count your blessings. It's a much more positive way to look at things.
  • Totally agree!! Are you sure you're not really in your 20s?
  • I admire you for all you've been thru, and you didn't give up. I've got to tell you, it would be so easy for me to give up. But then you know the challenges I'm facing. But I think the key is to just keep trying, no matter how many road blocks or speed bumps you encounter. Keep up the fantastic work!!
  • hehehe... at the party yesterday, I was told gray hair indicates wisdom... I jumped on that one.
  • I figure out what I want to eat, then how many calories I need to burn. As far as excuses... I had cancer, so I started eating anything my heart desired (feeling sorry for myself)... BUT I don't feel as good when I don't eat right.
  • giggling here... I love it!! I remember a time when a pipe came loose under the sink. My daughter, who has learned you can't count on anyone else, grabbed a pipe wretch and tightened the pipe... that was 15 years ago... hasn't needed to be tightened since. Her name is Summer, so we nicknamed her summer the plumber.
  • Left handed here. I've also heard lefties are more emotional and better in math.:drinker:
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. My parents gave my unconditional love... I'm not sure young people feel that from their parents any more, because their life is so much busier. I lost my dad 8 years ago and still miss him terribly. I still have a good cry about once a month. It makes the fact that my mom is still alive even…

  • lol... sounds like a typical day... but you have a gift for expressing yourself. Thanks for sharing... it made me smile. Sleep well my friend!
  • You look absolutely amazing. I needed to hear this. I stopped weighing myself about a month ago, because I was getting so frustrated. Thanks for sharing!!
  • I have chocolate for breakfast... lol. Chocolate flavored Mini Wheat little bits. It satisfies my need for chocolate, and it has lots of iron to boot.
  • The guy who said " you must be pretty effin stupid to think that the Internet provides any sort of identity protection." is pathetic. This kind of attitude is why I don't share much on line. Clearly he had his own issues to be so judgemental.
  • People are mostly like that when they are unhappy with themselves, and they think it elevates them to put someone else down. I used to be bothered by people like that, but now I consider the source and know that I am in a much better place then they are.
  • I had 3 teens in the house at one time for a few years (and I'm still sane), and my food budget doubled. They will eat anything they can get there hands on. I suggest you just buy healthy things for everyone... if they complain, you tell them they were eating YOUR heathy stuff, so you thought they preferred it. Either they…
  • I'll be her hubby was laughing hysterically on the inside that someone finally had the guts to put her in her place. I think you did awesome!
  • Attitude is everything, and I truly believe everyone should count their blessings... because you are focusing on positive things. Life can be hard, but there is always something to be thankful for. For example, my life has been difficult for the last 6+ months (blood clot, heart Afib, cancer diagnosis, surgery, radiation)…
  • I read all the posts with interest, but hadn't planned on sharing my opinion, until I read this one. I looked at your age and thought unless someone had seen mid-life crisis, they may not recognize the signs. It's awesome that you want to take good care of yourself... but it would be interesting to hear how your wife sees…
  • I want the inch&1/2 back that I lost somewhere.
  • My favorite too cause it's a lighter scent, not overpowering.
  • apples, potatoes, milk, yogurt, raisins, oranges Do not take a potassium suppliment without consulting your doctor. It could have serious reprocussions!
  • haha... lots of fur... beautiful dog. My dog actually likes being brushed. I say, Frankie, lets brush you and he comes right over to me. Toe nails are a different thing... he hates that.
  • I'm proud of myself for logging in more than 500 days. Even though I've had health issues the last 7 months (cancer), and I haven't lost weight in a while ( plateaued at 59 pounds lost), I have not given up. I have awesome friends on mfp that have encouraged me and supported me thru thick and thin.
