No gyms in this small town. I lost most of my weight riding a recumbant bike. Swimming is also a good exercise. I've had problems with my knees for several years. I take glucosamine Chondroitin twice a day... it takes a while to build up in your system before you notice a difference... but well worth it. Don't worry about…

I make a breakfast pizza using sausage, eggs, olives, and cheese in a 9 X 13 pan. It makes 10 servings. I freeze in individual servings and reheat for 10-12 minutes in the oven to crisp up the crust. 222 calories, if you want more you could have 2 servings. Premade pizza crust 8 eggs 1/2 cup milk 2 teaspoons dry mustard 2…

Started getting grey hair in my 30s. Currently (at 63) 60% grey, but I have strangers come up to me all the time telling me how beautiful my hair is natural (grey and all). It means a lot to be told that because in 2011 I had cancer. I started taking biotin a few years ago, and I've noticed more dark strands now.

I used to eat a lot of fruit and drink OJ (anywhere from 90-120 grams), but was always under on calories. I cut way back on my fruit (and juice) intake for 3 months (shooting for under 42) because my doctor said I was borderline diabetic. In those 3 months my blood sugar dropped 22 points... HOWEVER I was not prepared for…

I don't eat breakfast unless I'm hungry, but if I am breakfast pizza (eggs, sausage and cheese) is great @ 222 calories, 21 grams of calcium and 17 grams of protein. I make it in a 9 X 13 inch dish and divide it into 10 servings. I freeze individual servings that I can pull out whenever my little heart desires and heat up…

hehe... I think we've all been there a time or two. What a relief when you finally find what you're looking for... and of course vow to be more careful in the future. When my kids were growing up they knew just how to push my buttons to make me look for things they had misplaced... noisily rummaging thru a drawer, or…

I understand you're not that concerned about calories, but here's something you might consider. I love Mexican, and I don't want to make consessions either. So I get whatever I want, and visually divide it in half and only eat half. I take the rest home for another meal... so I get to enjoy it twice.

I totally understand the feelings you are experiencing, and I'm so sorry for your losses. I still struggle on my dad's birthday and the day he passed. I use a pix of us for my profile pix around his birthday. Holidays don't mean much now that he's gone. I struggled to hold my first grandchild because she looked so much…

I totally understand what you're saying. When I lost the bulk of my weight it was common for me to burn between 800- 1,000 calories a day exercising. Then my health took a dive. I keep trying but I've never been able to get back to that huge burn. While I do some biking most days, I stopped recording it because it didn't…

Kudos to you for your attitude and being a survivor. In December I will be a 2 year survivor.

I have an amazing group of friends. I nominate 3 for inner beauty... foodbuzz, blessedheart, and lilscuder.

My oldest boy once said... "Mom, you're the nicest person I know... but you've got to stop letting people walk all over you". Youngest son... not what he said, but what he did.( His senior year of high school, after we'd been thru hell with his dad). We had a signal that meant "I love you". He's in a basketball game at the…

hehe... I like that thought Ron!!

O yeah... I learned a long time ago you can only count on yourself. Anything else is a bonus!

Me too... I hate bridges. I have to be in the center so I can't see over the sides too. The scary ones for me are the bridge in Astoria, and the blue bridge in Tri-cities.

My boys used to have problems with the knees from growing too quickly... it was called osgood schlatter disease. They ended up wearing a very small strap (1/2 inch in diameter) with velcro wrapped around their leg right below the knee cap. That gave them some relief. A few years later they were able to run track. Good luck!

Oh Ron... how wonderful you could all be together for that first meeting with your youngest. I hope things continue to change for the better. In my thoughts and prayers!

Try those pomegranate seeds in a salad. My favorite is... pomegranate seeds, mixed with cubed mango and blueberries.

Everyone does better with motivation... and I'll take whatever motivation I can get, including log in days. I have 835 I think, and while the weight loss is stalled, I am proud of the fact that I keep logging. I went thru a lot this last year, and not only did the logging keep me grounded, my mfp friends were amazing. We…

When your body is under stress, you can lose hair. I am recovering from that (lost approximately 1/3 of my hair. But it's been growing back for the last six months. Many of those above have made good suggestions, but I also recommend biotin (it's a B vitamin). It's made a big difference for me.

hehehe... did you stay up all nite thinking about this? You are a riot... I'll be eager to see what others would like to add. Thanks for the laugh!!

I'm so glad she reached out to you. I hope the lines of communication continue to be open for you. In my thoughts and prayers.

I don't consider myself a failure at all. I lost 70 pounds before I was bowled over with heath issues. I am recovering from cancer and radiation, and cleaning is a challenge for me. Don't judge others by your standards unless you've walked in their shoes. I'm proud to say I lost 70 pounds and I'm a cancer survivor.

It makes you smarter. My kids were 24, 31, & 33 when they got married. I think you're better equiped to make a good choice for a lifetime when you are 25+. You need to go at your own pace... I got married at 22, and wish I hadn't. The married lasted almost 20 years, but only because I felt like I had made a vow before…

I use oil-free moisture for sensitive skin by Neutrogena. I used to use revitalift by L'oreal, but when they changed the formula it was too thick. I like something that goes on light and is easy to rub in.
