I feel out of place posting on this thread - not because of my height as I am 5'7.75", but because most of the previous posters started out much less than where I am currently at. With that said, SW: 338 CW: 280 GW: 165 - To be re-evaluated when I get closer. Honestly, I haven't weighed less than 200 since I was in high…

Thank you all for the replies. I have gone back to the calculator and rerun my numbers. Yes, I am elderly young, 50 to be exact, 5'8", with exercise 1 - 3 times per week. The results it gives me is BMR = 1347 and TDEE = 1852. For the most part, I was previously sticking to between 1250 - 1300 cal per day, but hadn't lost…

When I am cooking my stir fry recipes, I substitute teriyaki sauce for soy sauce as it provides similar flavors, but less sodium.

Absolutely AWESOME!!!! You should be very proud !!!

I am 5'8" and started out at 338 wearing a size 32 jean and 3X top. I have been in the range of 287 - 295 since September (very discouraging) but am now wearing 24 - 28 pants/jeans and 18/20 tops. I have trouble with the weight coming off my hips, otherwise I could wear a smaller size pant/jean as they swim at my waist…

Bump. What a great job you ladies have done. I hope to do just as well. 5'8" SW: 338 CW: 295 GW: 185 (maybe lower, not sure as I haven't been under 200 in several decades.)

Question: Does it matter how much one has to lose or where they are starting from? Just wondering as I would like to participate, but don't know the details or guidelines, if there are any. Thanks for your consideration.

I commend you as I know all too well first hand how difficult it is to give up soda. I did this about 6 years ago per my doctors advice. At the time I easily drank close to 2 Liters a day of Dr. Pepper. Although I was told that I could drink the diet version, I elected not to. I told the doctor that if I couldn't have the…

I'm TOTALLY speechless !!! Awesome & amazing job you have done in a short amount of time !!! I wish I could do half as well as you are have. What sort of exercises did you do at the gym? How many times a week did you go and for how long? Please share your experience as it could offer additional help/ideas for the rest of…

I haven't read all the replies here, but although I do agree with you in principle, personally I can understand the other side of this. Most people who have eaten mega calories in the past usually have either over eaten via large portion sizes and/or the wrong foods, i.e., foods that don't have much nutritional value,…
