After dealing with a binge eating disorder for many years, I feel you. I tend to binge when I don't eat enough calories (for example, low-calorie diets are a trigger, so I prefer to lose weight more slowly with a more modest reduction in calories ("Eat More 2 Weigh Less" has been a helpful group for me). But I've binged…

Dear OP, First of all, I'm sorry you are feeling unnoticed when you want to be noticed. :-( It might sound surprising, but many people believe a coworker's appearance/shape/weight is not appropriate to comment on. After all, sudden weight loss can result from serious illness, imagine how insensitive it would be for someone…

Mavrick, the fact that you are asking shows that you are attentive and caring about the gift you (presumably) will choose. The best way to know what someone (woman or man) really wants is to pay close attention to that individual. Thoughtfulness is incredibly romantic. You might ask leading questions, or you might bring up…

Sounds like you're not eating enough calories. If your body isn't getting enough nutrition, it gets very frugal about burning calories. You might check out the group EMTWL on this forum. It has helped lots of people. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3817-eat-more-to-weigh-less Bon chance! LM

That is really impressive!! Even though a part of me wants to "drop all this extra weight fastfastfast," I know from experience that (at least my own) quick loss leads to quick regain. It took me years to gain all the unwanted weight (100lbs+); I'm OK if it takes years to lose it if it means it will last.

Greetings, Male user!! Nice to have you here.

Welcome!! Seems like this is the perfect time to adopt EMTWL. You've had a little weight dip, which can be really motivating, yet metabolic damage from the last three weeks is probably not entrenched yet. I lost 26 lbs eating just above my BMR (per MFP's automated recommendations), and I felt really powerful and in…

When I have few calories left but feel munchy, I love to crunch on an ounce or more of Sugar Snap Peas (34 cals per oz). When I have an extra couple hundred calories, I nibble on 8 square of a Divina mint dark chocolate (192 cals).

Well, Ellen is exceptionally handsome, but I took the "male" label pretty literally, so I'll say James McAvoy: http://content7.flixster.com/rtactor/40/87/40873_pro.jpg

Hello from central Austin! Anybody here work out at Body Business?

Many people can't gauge the smell of their own breath. There could be so many reasons she has chronic bad breath: at worst it could indicate an illness and at best it is a social debility--chiefly because nobody knows how to inform them without humiliating them. Offering a mint is subtle but may be too subtle, pointedly…

I think if you are eating intuitively and maintaining weight, that trumps anything estimated, written or suggested because it is reality.

Oh and I lovelovelove Greek yogurt. :flowerforyou:

The last time I tried to lose weight before now, it was all about the "I need to keep away from the fat" mindset, and I haven't read or heard anything to the contrary since. Can you say some more about why fat intake shouldn't be measured (and "excess" fat avoided)? It would be really nice to not worry about fat intake!

Congratulations on reaching this goal!! I agree that making a lifestyle change as MFP supports will remain longer than the results of any one diet.

That sounds frustrating and baffling indeed! Because at first blush, what could be bad about eating lots of plant foods? If you used to be vegetarian and now you are vegan, it's possible that your body feels it is starving due to the difference in protein types you ingest. In any case, I wonder if the specific plants you…

Hi Indira! I would recommend that you pay close attention to your body's reactions to the program. If one is carrying 100+ lbs more than one's ideal weight (as I am), doing a 30-Day "Shred" sounds punishing indeed. (Which brings to mind a question to ask yourself--is it possible you believe your body should be punished? I…

The difficulty with eating too few calories (epecially if your blood type is O) is that your body thinks there's a famine going on and it better conserve every one of those calories (in other words, your metabolism cleverly slows down). :-o And if you don't have enough energy, exercizing can be an unpleasant ordeal instead…

I understand the fear of being out of control with food. But you know yourself that the math comes out well in your favor. :-) I would suggest that you focus on feeding your body with the best, most delicious nutrient-dense food you can afford/find, and "listen" carefully for your body's signals of hunger, fullness, and…
