Reformer Pilates might be a good fit. It's highly modifiable.

Beet & Arugula Salad with Goat Cheese—my favorite quick-prep meal Beets (try Trader Joe’s pre-steamed, pre-packaged) Arugula Goat Cheese Evoo Balsamic vinegar (I love cherry balsamic)

Ha! Great story. 😊 I tried insisting to my husband that every night dinner would include a veggie. It didn’t take.

That’s a great goal—30 plant-based things per week! In addition to vegetables (and fruit), I’m trying to eat a 30% protein macro in order to retain lean tissue as I lose fat. It’s really hard to hit that number.

Maybe I should try Brussels sprouts again!

Nice! Never thought of using chili oils. Definitely going to try the raw tomatillos in salad.

Sounds yum! Do the powders ever taste gritty or do they dissolve into the EVOO?
-
I'll start us off:* Spring mix lettuce was my gateway vegetable * I love adding fresh mint leaves to peas, carrots, green beans. Full disclosure--and I recognize this may be polarizing--I enjoy adding fat to vegetables. Peas tossed with cream and mint, carrots roasted in EVOO, green beans coated in vinaigrette.

Congratulations on the dip to 6!! Forgive yourself for all things past, friend. We do the best we can under the given set of circumstances.

Hello, hello! 50 this year!

1300 calories a day sounds very low. Your body still may be in starvation mode.

You are here and reaching out for support...awesome. It's a journey for sure, and little changes add up. You can add me as a friend. :-)

Glad you complained!

Eric, can you point me to a resource to learn more about higher fat ratios (keywords I could google would be great)? I am interested because I have been wondering why I've gone over my fat macros and am still losing weight quickly. Probably helps that the fats are from nuts and seeds, linseed oil, etc. tia, Lisa

My macros are 40% carbs, 30% fat, and 30% protein--with daily goal of 1756 calories.

Mazel tov! And thanks for the giggle.

Sounds like very reasonable advice!

how do you delete a post?

Awesome that you know ahead of time how many calories you're "budgeting," and it's a benefit that you know your family's party cuisine and can anticipate what will be served. I would ONLY advocate strict avoidance of a food IF you have worked very hard to stay off of it and are extremely committed to avoiding it. For…

Katrina, it happens. All the time. You can get back on the horse, though, that's what I am doing! Friend me if you like.

Right on!!

I have big arms, yup, batwings and all. The batwings all but went away when I lifted heavier (12 lbs for bicep curls as opposed to the 1-2 lb barbells designed for toning). Regained the 38 lbs I lost two years ago but I'm back in the saddle and hoping the same thing will work again!!

Thanks for the affirmation, and likewise with your OP!

I would have asked if you were OK if I was nearby. But it can be sketchy. Often when I ask someone who has fallen if they are OK, I get the sense they wish I'd simply ignored the...infelicity. OMG, gym fears! I had to approach a gym for the first time in stages: it was almost a phobia. Hiring a personal trainer made me…

I love my body too, regardless of the stage of "fatness" or "thinness" or everything in between-ness!! Grateful for its shelter and protection, the joy and pleasure it gives me, and even the pain it has carried. I want to eat in a more balanced and nutrient-dense manner, and I want to lose weight to reduce health risks and…

Congratulations!!! I have to say, though, you're adorbs in both your "before" and "after" pics. :-)

One way to minimize comments of these types is to avoid making the size/shape of your body a topic of conversation at any weight (yes, even with--or maybe especially with--family members). This is hard because especially in the beginning of a weight loss it feels great to hear compliments. But then people feel free to to…
