I've been married twenty years, and never changed mine in the first place. A name is important, you need to have one that you feel right with (whichever that is).

I've turned over a new leaf this time around and I'm logging it all. And what do you know - surprise! - when I've logged what I thought was a bad day, it often hasn't turned out to be all THAT bad anyway. And when it has, I can see exactly what it was that put me there, so I can be forewarned. It seems to me that the log…

Another vote for Enell here. Truly nothing else has ever compared.

It really depends on you and your particular running style - you need to have a professional fit you to be sure you're getting the right kind of shoe. I swear by my Brooks Glycerins, but I have a foot that tends to supinate (roll out) so I need a shoe that neutralizes that. Most people pronate (roll in), which is better…

When I met my husband, he was heavy, and he lost 65 lbs while we were dating. About a year after we got married, we were visiting his family back east and one of them remarked on what a "big guy" he was. Except he wasn't any more (not particularly tall, either). But this particular family member (a nephew) couldn't even…

A trainer that I worked with said that one needs 20g of protein within 45 minutes after working out to help with muscle recovery (minimizing soreness, etc.). I like to have some egg white & cheese, which I zap in the microwave at work, and serve on a whole grain tortilla or thin bun, sometimes with some zesty salsa.…

One word: Enell. They aren't inexpensive, but they work. I'm a 38G right now, and nothing else gives me the luxury of forgetting all about the girls while I work out. Srsly.

I usually have coffee first, then when I'm sufficiently awake, I have a banana. I usually have the banana in the car on the way to the park where I run, so I don't wait long at all. After I run, I have protein food like egg whites with a little cheddar cheese or some yogurt with grape nuts in it.

As much as I wish I could love oatmeal (it would make life so much easier in the morning), it gives me EPIC heartburn. Likewise oat bran. Believe me, it has been tough to find breakfast food that will stick with me for the morning! My chickens like steel-cut oats, though. LOL

The last couple of times I tried them they came out really good. For me, the trick was to a) rinse well, and then b) soak them in a strainer in hot water while preparing the rest of my meal (about 10 minutes). One time, I quickly sauteed (in pan spray) some green onion and garlic, added some Thai green curry paste with a…

Oh, and UponThisRock - I love your idea. Heh.

Y'all are great!! Thanks for your good thoughts. I know we will have a blast. I did something that probably wasn't so wise this time but didn't think about it until it was too late - I got a bunch of warm-weather clothes (shorts, tank tops, etc.) and found that I was hovering right between sizes, so I got the bigger size.…

If I gain two lbs in two weeks, I will consider this trip to be a roaring success, healthwise! I enjoy drinks on vacation too, LOL. Also not on vacation. Heh.

I've just been WAITING for someone to say something like that to me, because I want to respond with, "Well, I can always lose weight, but it looks like you'll always be an *kitten*." And walk away.

Just sent you a friend request! I'm a recovering WW-er (LOL) and recently stumbled on the combination of MFP and Fitbit. Haven't lost much yet but I'm feeling very motivated, especially as I start to gain MFP friends and see how great you're all doing. Add me if you would like to, anyone! Oh, and one of these days I'll get…

Enell 4ever! I'm at about a 40G or H right now, and when I put on my Enell, those girls do not move. Plus it helps keep me from slouching. The best sports bra I have ever found, bar none.

I was tired of dating people who got spooked if you even said the word "future," so I placed a personal ad in an independent newspaper basically saying I was looking for someone who was romantic, who loved to laugh, and who loved music and the performing arts. Also someone who wasn't afraid of (cue threatening music here)…

MMarvelous - you're welcome! Just to clarify: 1 tbsp butter, 1tbsp flour, 1 cup dairy or broth (makes about a cup) 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp flour, 2 cups dairy or broth 3 tbsp butter, 3 tbsp flour, 3 cups dairy/broth etc., etc., etc.... just depends how much sauce you need I wonder if the light butter/olive oil stuff would…

FYI, a substitution for cream-of-anything-soup would be to make your own bechamel or veloute' sauce, season/flavor it any way you like. Yes, it does include butter, but considering that it's spread out throughout the whole recipe, it's really not that much. Basic bechamel is an equal number of tablespoons of butter…

Oh, and I forgot to mention - if you're bouncing at all, then you need to increase the resistance. In that way, it's like riding a bike, if you're bouncing on the bike seat, it means you're in too low of a gear and need to shift up...

I absolutely LOVE the elliptical! But then, I'm also pretty heavy right now so it's much easier on my joints than running (which I want to get back to eventually). My trainer and also the owner of my gym have counseled me to find a pace I can stick to and then do intensity intervals - two minutes at a light to moderate…

I have been using unsweetened vanilla soy milk. The fat-free half-and-half and the powder creamers are full of stuff I don't want to put in my body if I can avoid them.

I lost about 70 lbs on WW a few years ago and hit the mother of all plateaus - had an injury that messed with my exercise, and a lot of stuff going on. Held steady for a little while and then gradually it all started creeping back... and then a year and a half ago my mom died and I just had to grab the end of the rope and…

I'm an hourglass, but it's a really large hourglass. Mostly I walk and do crunches right now - at my current weight it's not easy to get too ambitious. But I've done some running/jogging and hope to get back to that again. In a previous life I used to be more of a dancer...
