  • He happened to get home just as I finished trying on the one he picked out... :blushing:
  • The decision has to yours. I say if you are having success with MFP, stick with it. The surgery will still take work on your part. I agree with others, I think your mom was coming from a place of love, I wouldn't be offended by her offering. I'm sure she is trying to prevent you from going your entire life as she has. On a…
  • I did this but weighed a 35lb dumbell, it said it weight 35.8 haha. I changed my batteries in my scale and did the same test over, the dumbell weighed 35.4, so it semi corrected it's self with new batteries... I found that odd. I still log the number on the scale so I don't drive myself nuts. OP, as others have said don't…
  • I'm a shortie, 5'3.. I think everyone loses weight diffrently. I've lost 35 pretty evenly so it's taking time to drop sizes. I was a tight 18, and now a comfortable 14... I didn't get into the 16's until I it 20lb loss, and just very recently fit into the 14's. It'll happen.. And when it does you'll be doing the happy…
  • Any one looking for support, feel free to add me.
  • Yes brown carbs are whole wheats, oats, brown rice, sweet potato. I thought I had every thing figured out, boy was I wrong. I changed my macros and started really watching them and I have more energy and the weight is falling off very nicely now. A properly fueled body is going to run more efficiently. I am so glad I made…
  • I was confused on this very subject. Here is the answer that I received. Basically the macros are the calorie percent of where you get your nutrition. Each one play a different role in your body function - Protein helps repairs muscles after you work out, which is when muscle grows and definition is formed. It also keeps…
  • My pleasure. Feel free to friend me if you need support. This process is hard and a good support system is important. If not for all the support I've received I would have likely quit long ago.
  • Love the screen door comment. And I missed that she said she wasn't weighing or measuring her food. I've only not weighed my food out 1x in the last 3 months. That was a bad day, hated not being 100% sure what I was really eating. Lesson learned. I now take my own, pre weighed food, to bbq's. :)
  • If you aren't weighing your food, you are not getting the most accurate calorie, fat, carb and protein count. Being as accurate as possible is so very important.
  • Without seeing your diary I'm assuming when you are eating lower sodium you are more than likely eating more fruit, veg and not eating processed foods. A more natural diet of 1500 calories is better then 1200 empty calories. Calories are important, but so are the fat content, carbs and protein. You need to watch those as…
  • I drink 6 liters (202.8 fl oz) per day minimum. If I wake up early or stay up late I've been known to drink 8-10 of them (270.4-338 fl oz). I pee, constantly. Great way to push yourself to get in enough water. Best of luck!
  • With true lifting you are doing multiple reps with time between sets. Circuit you keep moving, be that jumping jacks or a new muscle group. The difference is in circuit you are keeping your heart rate up. At least this is how I understand it, I could be wrong. So if you just did set after set with no breaks I would log the…
  • I was going to say vodka water as well.. that's what I do if I drink.. I love wine so you inspired me to look. I found a website http://sugarlesswines.com/ IDK how the wine can be sugarless but it claims to be.
  • Love it... I'm fun sized at 5'3.. When I started I had 75lbs to lose, I now only have 45 (yay)! Anyone looking for support feel free to add me. I log in everyday (multiple times) I'm on MFP most of the day to keep me occupied so I don't slip up. :)
  • I do a protein shake and a banana after doing weights. As far as logging, Were you moving that whole 10 min before the rest? If so then I would count it as circuit training. Otherwise a HRM will give you the most accurate burn. MFP over estimates the burn so only eat back a portion of them. Best of luck.
  • On my strength days I drink a protein shake and eat a banana. I still have some soreness but not nearly as bad as it is if I skip the banana. Could be a mental thing, but I was told banana's help.. :)
  • 31 yrs old, 5'3 195lbs.. any one looking for support feel free to add me. :)
  • My suggestion is to eat higher calories, especially being so active. Eat high protein, you'll need it doing the 30 day shred. You should visit http://iifym.com/calculators/ to find out what you BMR and TDEE are and stay between those to calorie points everyday. I A common misconception is to starve yourself, when in fact…
  • I had lap band in 2009, lost weight initially, but gained it back when I started to get depressed and ate my emotions. PLEASE address your emotional issues and stress otherwise you will yo-yo. I've been over weight most of my adult life and I know the weight is a big reason I get depressed. You're taking the right steps in…
  • I increased my calories and have been losing more, MFP isn't perfect for the predictions so I wouldn't let that scare you off. Defiantly eat at least your BMR and about half of your exercise calories. Increase your calories a 100 a week, you might see a stall in the scale or slower losses so I might hide the scale, but…
  • We have the same goal. I'm 5ft3in thou!
  • You want a 1:1 ratio for lean body mass, so you can probably reduce a little. Ultimately you want to spread that protein out during the day. Based on yesterday you had 72 in 1 setting, your body can't process all that at once and it's being wasted. I would eat 5-6 times a day as opposed to just 3x. That way your body can…
  • Here is some information that I was given to help lose fat, now I'm not trying to build muscle, but just as SonicDeathMon said that comes from the work outs you do. "But basically - Protein helps repairs muscles after you work out, which is when muscle grows and definition is formed. It also keeps you fuller, longer…
  • Haha, I'm going to use that one.. (as a joke) You really made me laugh out loud on that one.
  • I'm right there with you!
  • Being an American, I find it funny that it is being called a disease. For the most part the choices we make are what make us who/how we are. NY was trying to make it where restaurants, fast food joints, pizza parlors, movie theaters and bars would currently be unable to sell more than 16 ounce containers of sugary drinks…
  • WOW! Great job. I particularly liked how you quick smoking AND started eating right as to get the crankiness done with all at once. Go big or go home, as they say. Keep up the awesome work.
  • In my opinion the MFP setting is too low. I increased my to 50, with the exercise I do I usually don't go over now. I do 2-3 servings of fruit a day. For the first few weeks of using MFP I following things blindly. Do your research, and if what you've been doing has been working, ignore it. Great job on your loss of 15lbs…
