Are you weighing and measuring your food? Are you using MFP calculations on calories burned or a HRM?

I too only log the plain water. I don't count coffee or sparkling water or flavored water. It truly is all water so you can, it's really a personal preference.

Advice I was given.. Always stretch first.. Weights second and cardio last. If you lift weights first and follow that with cardio you will have higher fat oxidation during the cardio because weight lifting depletes muscle glycogen.

I am by no means an expert... But based on this website http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ For a 41yr female 5'4 your BMR (this is just what the body needs to pump blood, breath, etc) is 1416, you want to make sure you eat at least this amount. Now, the fat to fit ratiio is a concept that you eat like the healthier…

It is mostly water weight. It takes 3500 surplus of calories to actually gain a pound. I think avoiding the scale, or at least disregarding the results for a few weeks is a good plan. Maybe still weight 1x a week as a base line. TDEE isn't perfect, so you may need to go up or down. If you are losing more than 2lbs a week,…

You need to eat at least your BMR, those are the calories your body needs just to bump blood etc.. You are correct that you would want to aim for 1661. With TDEE it takes into account your activity level, so as long as you went with the right activity level you would NOT eat back exercise calories. Does that make sense?…

Great transformation! ETA: I can see the pictures as well!

*raises hand* Yep, I like to talk!

Awesome job! I just started adding running to my walks. I'm up to a minute then I want to die. HA! Great NSV! You deserve to still be stoked about it.

If you use this website it will give you some info. If I'm looking at your info right you want to be 140lbs for goal? http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ Based on activity level you would need Activity Level Daily Calories Sedentary (little or no exercise, desk job) 1646 Lightly Active (light exercise/sports 1-3…

Plain greek yogurt or sour cream and mustard. I actually prefer the flavor using greek yogurt or sour cream to the taste with mayo. Tastes fresher IMO.

I presume this was in response to my post. I can tell by your words you are offended. I meant no offense, I corrected myself in stating that you were losing at just above average. That being, by research I meant on the internet, not the forums. There are some knowledgeable people here, but far more knowledgeable. I…

You should only get that notice from MFP about not eating enough if you are taking in less than 1200 calories. Just as damofing stated you should be eating back a portion of your exercise calories if you are going with the calorie goal MFP gave you. MFP works on a NEAT method so a deficit is already built in and doesn't…

^^^ When he says every other muscle in your body if you lift heavy, that's no joke!! SO worth it though!

If you are having trouble meeting minimums, then I would recalculate. The less you weigh the lower your TDEE will be. I was told to recalculate it every 10 lbs. :)

^^^ This. Log honestly (as best as you can). I would work out so you have some extra calories. Depending how far over you go you can shave 100-200 calories a day to make it up. Then it will be like it never happen. I find personally the day after drinking (as long as I didn't drunk eat) I'm down, even if I went over…

I would log it. I walk to and from work and you better believe I log those calories. :)

I think she meant driving up the hill as an analogy for weight going up hill. At least that is how I took it! OP, great post.

Thank you for this. I too was one of the 1200'ers and not eating exercise calories. I was losing more than 2lbs a week but then binging on the weekend. I too noticed my hair started falling out, I freaked out. I increased my calories to 1500 a few weeks ago and have been doing better. My hair was still falling out (still…

I would change your macros to a lower percent of carb intake. I personally have mine set to 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein. I lose 1-2lbs a week. I'm working out 4-6 times a week and it works good for me. I would do more brown carbs (brown rice, whole grains etc). Do you weigh and measure all your food. That is another…

Gold bond sells an anti friction stick that works awesome. Once we got it we realized it looks and feels just like deodorant so that should do the trick.

Great information!

If you use the NEAT method (this is what MFP uses) then you would eat the 1335 plus your exercise calories. The NEAT method already has a caloric deficit built in so you are suppose to eat the exercise calories back to avoid to large of a deficit. Calorie burns are estimates and usually pretty high. That being said it is…

Greek yogurt is high in protein too. Some are high in sugar so chose wisely. Fage plain is a good one and you can add in fresh berries or do like I do and put oatmeal, chia seeds and fruit.. so yummy!

I can only shed my point of view. I did the HCG diet, I bought into the hype. I did so even when my husband begged and pleaded with me not to do it. But, I did the research I knew people doing it and they were losing. How could that be wrong? Then I woke up. Fortunately I only did one round. What woke me up was not wanting…
