my very amateur opinion is that it will help build strength in your legs. especially in your calves. for me, it is more of a toning exercise and not a muscle building in the sense that my muscles will be poking thru my skin exercise. however, i have nothing to really base that on. maybe for me, i'm just not riding far…

chug water.

once school starts, i make my lunch the night before. it is the only way i survive. i make a salad with some cut up chicken. whatever you plan to have, the ten minutes the night before will make your morning so much easier. good luck!

switched from dannon light and fit to chobani greek yogurt about two weeks ago. i have found that if i have the yogurt as part of my breakfast, i am full longer and don't need a mid morning snack. so while the calories are higher, so is the protein, and i am not grabbing a snack between breakfast and lunch anymore. i like…

my only tattoo, so far, is what is in the picture to the left. it's from the simpsons tv show. i think my next one will be the chinese symbol for "balance" but can't decide where i want it yet.

as already stated...bike shorts. i purchased mine in the beginning of the summer and it helped TREMENDOUSLY! i love them. spent 50 bucks at my local bike shop, but they had a few styles to choose from. i went with the baggy type. if i looked good in spandex i wouldn't need to bike! i love them. nothing underneath and hand…

i don't think the op was trying to offend anyone. everyone has their own story to tell and their own journey ahead. i think what the op is suggesting is that she is likely looking for someone in a similar situation as she is who she can chat with and relate to. as for me, my friends are people in similar situations as i am…

don't have a recipe, but can't resist a great quote... "i don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. it tastes great all by itself."

not me, but my older brother... freshman at college, as was his roommate but the roommate was 28. when asked what he has been doing since 18, he said he was "just busy." there were two or three girls murdered while out jogging over the period of about a month on and around the campus. after a while of no arrest, the cops…

good luck. buy some ensure shakes, or something like that, that will give you the nutrients you need. you will not eat anything solid for four days or so. pudding, jello and remember you can't drink any shakes thru a straw. good luck!

thank you all so much for the responses. i am shocked there are so many. i figured there wouldn't be too many b/c the post was so long. my eyes are watering, you are all so kind and supportive. and thanks for the compliments on my writing style. as an english teacher, it is one of my strengths... everyone keep working hard…

let me preface by saying i am a middle school english teacher, but i will vote for THE GIVER.

Also, The Devil in the White City although wikipedia says that Leonardo DiCaprio owns the movie rights to it. [/quote] great book!

everyone here will first suggest making your diary public so they can see your food. that will be the first step to people offering suggestions and comments. as for me, i would suggest drinking more water. that is an easy answer. many people here believe in the "eat more to weigh less" philosophy, so always being under…

i'm gonna have to try this. broccoli is one the foods i thought i hated, but since trying to lose weight, have realized i actually like it. thanks for the recipe.

request sent, it's long, but explains how i was in your shoes.

according to the doc, it didn't seem bad. he thought it would heal in 2 weeks. but the thought of two weeks without exercising is bothering me...wait, did i just say that? never thought those words would come out of my mouth, i guess that's progress in itself... i can hobble around the house and stuff, and am hoping in two…

getting the wrong brace can damage your knee. see your doctor, tell him/her what is going on and see what they recommend. plus, with a prescription, your insurance will likely pay for it. good luck.

done.
