Costco used to make shortbread cookies that were half dipped in chocolate. I used to refrigerate mine. They were dangerous. They stopped making them a few years ago.

I started with wall push ups, bc I couldn't do regular ones and due to surgeries, cant kneel. You are moving forward and that's what is important!

I live on the corner of Grey Street and the End of the World. If you know, you know.

Elliptical is one of the only exercises my replaced knees allow me to do. I, too, doubt what calories burn on the machine and MFP both say, but I'm working hard and my heart rate is def going up. No matter what, it's better than sitting on couch. Only exercise that has ever given me DOMS is lifting- which is limited with…

That's why I work out alone.

That's one of my favorite books! Thanks for your help!

Been here. Many times. First, best of luck in your recovery. Second, what you eat becomes SO much more important right now b/c your mobility is limited. Any upper body workout you can do is great! Focus on arms and shoulders, if that's even possible. Lift light weights. At this point, your weight goal is to stay around…

Best of luck to you!

I'm 43. Have had 13 knee surgeries, including partial replacements on both knees. Will need replacement of the replacements in about seven years as they are expected to wear out, but I couldn't walk without pain, so there weren't many other options. I have found elliptical to be great, also cycling- I even took spin…

Interesting. I've been doing keto since September but dealing with depression and anxiety for much much longer. Interested to see how this develops and as I've just finally started some meds, will discuss with my Dr. on Friday. Thanks for everyone's input here.

forcing myself to try to lose weight when I wasn't mentally ready. I was setting myself up to fail every time. Only time I was successful was when I was mentally ready for the hard work, sacrifices, and determination.

Big fan of both the atkins bars - one tastes just like a snickers- and the low carb wraps. Mine are located with some other wraps and I found them accidentally. They redid our market and I was nervous they were going to relocate them, like they did everything else I can no longer find!

I find working out with a partner takes longer and I'm usually in a rush. So, typically I say just that - no thanks, I only have a limited time. Or maybe when I have more time we can work out together, like on a weekend of so.

One of those new "Crack an Egg" things. Decently impressed. Can see getting two or so a week and having them on way to work. Altho my microwave seems to need longer to cook them.

to answer your original question, i would recommend swimming, if possible, walking, cycling and weight lifting. id stay away from running or rowing as those are very harsh on the knees. good luck to you.

I literally just pulled something similar out of the oven. I've done both mini and reg sized "egg muffins." Today I started with two slices on pepperoni on bottom and a third of a cheese stick. Measures out to be just under one egg per muffin for me, then added a few drops of bbq sauce. Have made these with about a third…

big fan of these as the come in different kinds of rice too. not cheap, but convenient for one serving and easy, quick meals. Will add to stir fry b/c as previously mentioned, it's a bit dry. will stock up when they are on sale.

Great job!!! Looks like hard work is paying off!

Treadmill. Maybe bike. I started with wall push ups because I couldn't do real ones. Also, wall sits. started at ten wall push ups and 15 second wall sits. Neither obviously requires a gym, as walking doesn't either, but I was motivated to "go to the gym" to get my stuff done. If the gym is two levels, walk up the stairs,…
