saw a post about "no alcohol in august" challenge earlier today. i didn't join. i'm sure you'll find it if you search it.

im in.
-
seems about right to me, based on what i've logged in the past.

not a runner, but one of the tips i have heard from a track coach friend was to walk the straight aways, run the curves. i think at my school where the track is around the football field, they teach the kids to run when the end zone starts to where the end zone starts on the other side of the track. not the other end of…

i've had 14 knee surgeries, so i like to think that i mostly know what i am talking about... go to a orthopedic doctor. he/she should order an mri. that will (most likely) tell you what is going on with your knee. you could be doing more damage to it. so get it checked out. and stop doing squats and lunges until doc tells…

squats are one of the worst exercises for someone with knee troubles, so if your knee hurts, get that checked out. when i was in physical therapy, we did wall squats. took some pressure off my knee, but still built up my thigh muscles. go to a doctor.

i've read on here that a glass of chocolate milk after a workout reduces soreness. but it has to be right after, not once soreness moves in. i find a banana and a lot of water helps me, as does advil. and while it sounds like it wouldn't be a good idea, go for a walk or a very light workout to get the lactic acid out of…

great job! my biggest regret is not taking my measurements when i started back in january. i used the notches on my belt as a substitute, but it wasn't the same. keep up the good work!
-
as much as you can.
-
increasing the incline will drastically improve the workout. good luck.

done yesterday. modified to wall push ups. thanks for the challenge.

i have had this question also, and no one really could give me an answer. i have been to local waterpark a few times this summer, once with no line, so it was walk up the stairs, go down the ride. and we went on about 25 rides. i ended up not logging it b/c i didn't know how. but i guess you could log it as walking,…

this will be my hardest one yet, but i am in.
-
done. thanks for posting the challenge.

i don't go away often at all, but when i do, i love walking the new neighborhoods. i usually take a 20 to 30 minute walk in the morning and another in the evening. perhaps, tho, for me, since i go away with friends, it is the peace and quiet i enjoy more than the exercise itself.

aside from not doing this sooner, i'd say one of my biggest regrets is that i didn't take my measurements or get blood work done so i can compare my numbers from then to now. i know my starting weight and pants size, but i am tremendously curious about my cholesterol, blood pressure and stuff like that. i know i can get it…

i'm in.

totally intrigued by this...perhaps someone with some more knowledge about it can help me. i have horrible knees and can't lay on my stomach or kneel. seems like any regular yoga i do requires being able to do those things. other people tell me to just relax when those poses come, but i think i'll feel like a jerk just…

my starting numbers were about the same but my goal is a little higher, altho i don't really have a goal, just kinda want to see what i look like at a certain weight. have used this site since february alone, added some friends for the first time. gonna send a request to you, if i can figure out how... need some big boned…

done. thanks for posting!

done. used my gallon of water, but then drank some and thought it was too light, so switched to a 10 pound weight.

i'm in. gotta look around the house for something to hold...

love mine. did a lot of research, then purchased it second hand b/c i couldn't afford a new one. not all are the same so look around... good luck.

ive had two gym memberships, both went to waste, i never went. i have a second hand elliptical and second hand treadmill. i use the elliptical about 3 times a week. within two weeks i had used my elliptical more than i ever went to the gym. i use the elliptical more than the treadmill, but the treadmill was a great deal,…

i'm a redskins fan living in new york. it is painful.

check with your local highschool. they can probably recommend a few students. also, check with local daycare centers. my cousin works for tutor time, and always has babysitting jobs watching kids that go there. good luck...

it'll be cheaper to stay on the north fork, and take the ferry over to sag harbor, there are wineries and beaches on both forks. major difference between the two is attitude and price.

been to saratoga a bunch of times for concerts. love it and never have enough time to see all i want... mystic, connecticut is nice too. eastern long island really depends what you are looking to do on those three days...

kids are great motivators and setting an example for them is so important. today, my son wanted to do my squats with me. he counted while i did sets of 20, then i counted while he did his. the perfect motivation was hearing "keep going dad, only 7 more" especially since his subtraction was wrong and it was really only 6!…

done. based on previous knee surgeries, i do modified wall squats, but haven't done them in forever, back in my physical therapy days. got a good thigh burn. i did 5 sets of 20. feel good about it now, will likely regret it tomorrow. thanks for the challenge. it's nice to see two days in a row of challenges that non gym…
