  • it'll ask you if you want to recalculate at every 10 pounds.
  • great job! congrats on taking the first step. take another one tomorrow! they all add up!
  • i have three or four different walking routes so i don't really get bored walking...and they are of different lengths. i use an elliptical, altho, not too recently. i ride my bike. i am looking forward to my son being out of school so we can go hiking together. what do you do? maybe we can trade...
  • the good thing about "the wagon" is that it travels so slowly, it is easy to jump back on again. get back on track today, up your water and you will be well on your way! we've all done it. and survived!
  • that's exactly how i described it to the sales woman. she said i would get used to it. my rides aren't too long now, partly b/c of the discomfort, so i am hoping with my new shorts i can increase my miles a bit...
  • my weight always fluctuates a few pounds within the week. so i figured by rewarding myself with the shorts as soon as i hit the 50 pound mark would really be me buying shorts before i *really* hit the goal of 50 pounds. but since i've been at the 53 pound mark for two or three weeks, i figured it was safe to purchase them.…
  • sounds like an omelet to me. some of my common snacks are: grapes, wheat thins, cheddar quakes, carrots, nuts, and one of my new favorites is rold gold everything bagel pretzel rings. good luck!
  • increase your water.
  • 50 crunches...and i don't mean the candy bars!
  • love my trek! i have a 7.3 (maybe?) hybrid. it is 7.something. i don't know but love it. got mine on the recommendation of my neighbor after my doctor told me cycling was one of the only exercises i should be doing. i tried his out, and shortly got my own. it was a bit out of my price range at the time, but looking back…
  • i, too, drink about a gallon of water a day. i increased it while i was on vacation b/c i knew my body would flush it right out. and it did. like every 30 minutes or so. after a few days my body got used to it, so that i can now go hours without going if need be. your body just needs time to adjust. just a thought, and no…
  • 1. i, too, can wrap a standard bath towel around my waist 2. i can exercise two days in a row without being so sore that i have to take 3 or 4 days off in between 3. i can say no to chocolate chip cookies 4. i can eat just one chocolate chip cookie, if i want 5. i can pick clothes out of the "skinny side" of my closet
  • strawberries. i think i'm addicted to them.
  • congrats! keep up the awesome work!
  • i have severe knee issues at 36 years old and have been dealing with them for more than 20 years. have partial knee replacements, steel plates, some plastic and 13 surgeries. i can't do any of the exercises you mentioned either. i can ride my bike, if it is fitted properly, so you might want to start there. it is one of…
  • doctors say my mom has this...she is to avoid corn, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, popcorn and a few other things along those lines. her seems to be related to stress also, altho the doc isn't so sure. knock on wood, she has been pretty good lately. good luck.
  • thanks for all the advice everyone! it is good to know i am not alone. i think my lesson here might just be to stop weighing myself so often too. it is tough to enjoy a treat meal knowing that the scale is going to suck for the next three days though. i plan on trying the citrus in water trick, altho i absolutely hate…
  • bump for some advice, please.
  • my only experiences with a recumbent exercise bike came while i was rehabbing my knee. i found the motion on a recumbent bike to be more back and forth, not around and around like when i currently ride my bicycle. in fact, i was put on the recumbent b/c i couldnt flex my knee enough to go all the way around like you do…
  • long island here too! suffolk county.
  • broccoli...now if i haven't had it in a while, i miss it.
  • been there. push yourself to do one more minute next time you are on the bike. i bet you can do it. before you know you will be doing five extra minutes without even realizing it.
  • i have. still a great feeling to finish. one of the race directors was about 50 yards behind me b/c he was in charge of following the last person. as i passed side streets, they were re-opening them for traffic.
  • loved the book on 9/11 about newfoundland! long island here!
  • lots and lots of water works for me. bananas do too. and i have read on here chocolate milk, but i am not sure if that needs to be part of a routine, of if you can just drink it once in a while to have it take the edge off. plus, go for a light walk next time. you need to get the lactic acid moving and complete rest will…
  • stopped at taco bell today just to pee. my body is used to the amount of water i drink, well, i thought it was, but today i guess my schedule was a little off. i honestly thought i was going to wet my pants. tough sometimes at work too. i'll go just b/c i have the time to go, not necessarily b/c i have to go. but the more…
  • not sure what they are called...maybe chocolate dunkers? long, thin chocolate chip cookies with a layer of chocolate on the back. they are totally part of the reason why i am on mfp! they are sooooooooooooo good.
  • thanks for taking the time to write this...i find myself very similar to the "old" you and wanting to become more like the "new" you. my first step has GOT to be to stop weighing myself everyday. thanks again.
