If you are going to offer advice on whether to eat your exercise calories or not, please be sure first that you know how MFP is set up to work. When you entered your goals (lose .5, 1, or 2 pounds a week), MFP deducted the appropriate calories from your daily goal in order for you to achieve this. NO exercise is expected…

If this incident is a one time thing that your husband regrets, its probably just a bump in your marriage that can be addressed by talking about it or possibly with counseling. But if it is an ongoing pattern of control, disrespect and verbal abuse, you may want to look into why you are tolerating such actions. You can't…

I kind of "fell into" my career. I had a job through a temp agency and they offered a perm position. Because of how I am, I kept trying to improve myself and my performance, so took classes, et al. Eventually, I became very good at what I do and have been doing it for 30 years. It's not what I would have chosen to do with…

Haha, By about halfway through zumba or kickboxing, I am so red and dripping with sweat, I look like I'm about to have a heart attack. But the only comments I ever get are from my kids...as they stare and say..gee mom, you're really RED! :blushing:  I don't mind though, that's just how I get when I am working hard.…

I usually add 1 egg per person eating the frittata, and the rest egg whites or egg beaters. I like them with feta cheese, spinach, and sliced black olives. Can sprinkle with cheddar cheese and stick under broiler until it's golden brown. Yumm yumm!

My legs. Although a inch or two larger than I'd like above the knee, they're firm and have very little fat on them. Probably due to years of volleyball, cycling, rock climbing, etc. Most people never actually quit using the muscles in their legs...do they? It's my tummy, my glutes, and my biceps that need the most work.

Phish Food ice cream (not mine though, it's my 6yr old daughters)

How long since you lost?

I work out 6 days a week. Monday - abs/legs (weights) Tuesday - zumba Wednesday - legs/glutes (weights) Thursday - spin Friday - upper body (weights) Saturday - rest day (but usually have high burn due to cleaning/chores/etc.) Sunday - kickboxing I eat 1200 + 80% of exercise calories. Works out to between 1400-1500…

If anyone is curious as to why so many chose the first stall due to cleanliness - here is an article and some tests done on the sanitary conditions of public restrooms - http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Health/story?id=1213831&page=2

1. The first one. It is frequently avoided as everyone assumes everyone else is so lazy they'll pick it. 2. Nothing. I don't need anything right now, so I'll save it...tyvm. 3. House Clearner - between my 2 jobs, 3 kids, partner, and fitness activities, I have zero spare time.

5'5" 154 pounds I wear a size 6. I can get into 4's but they're ridiculously tight, so clearly not my size yet.

My sister used to sing in church loudly "peace and thunder standing" (the words are peace and understanding). When my middle daughter was a toddler, she used to call thunder and lightening, 'tunder and lighting'. I still call it that  How about a reverse mondegreen?

I make more than twice what my partner makes (and work more hours). But what works well for us is that we pool everything and pay for everything out of that pool. We each get X dollars a week cash for spending. Minor purchases, ie: an occasional meal out, or a shirt or something, comes out of the pool. Anything major (over…

Bump so I can watch later from home.

When I cheat regularly (or have spike days, if you prefer that term), I don't lose. What does work, for me, is to eat at maintenance for one week, every three months. I still log and still meet my macros (mostly), but I can fit in ice cream, pasta, pizza, beer, etc. This helps reset my leptin levels and helps me retain my…

Starvation "mode" and actual "starvation" are NOT the same thing. Starvation "mode" is when your body begins to adapt to the reduced caloric intake. It always happens when you eat at a deficit. BUT, it is generally only harmful when the intake is much too low (less than 50% of needed calories-ie: VLCD) AND happens for long…

189 lbs (when I quit smoking in 2009 and started getting healthy). I'm 5'5". Prior to that, the only time I'd come close to that was the day before my baby was born @ 182 pounds. Consider that my normal weight for 30 years has always been between 115 and 135 pounds, so that is a heckofa lot of poundage. My shoulders hurt…

Thank you. I CAN do this. And so can you! :flowerforyou:

People with underlying conditions should consult with their doctor and a registered dietician. Most general physicians don't study the endocrine or metabolic systems in depth, so if a simple deficit + exercise isn't working, a visit to a specialist may be in order.

Yes. All the rest is just "fluff". How many carbs, how much water, how often to eat, weigh before or after pooping, too much protein, not enough fat, exercise on empty stomach, cardio or no, lifting or no....seriously, just do the above. And be patient. It's not instant.

LOL, my grocery store has the cheeses, refrigerated salad dressings and lunch meats on one wall, butcher meats including chicken nuggets, fish sticks and frozen meatballs on another, and frozen pizza, waffles, and cardboard meals on the third. The healthy stuff is all in the center in it's own section (natural and…

For me, it's even less. I come hobbling out of zumba, spin or kickboxing class, pouring sweat, with a beet red face....and only burned 300-400 or so calories. Bah! Still, it's fun and it's calories. /jealous

People who say they are working out XX amount and eating YY amounts and not losing are usually miscalculating somehow. Unless they are eating less than 50% of their BMR for extended periods of time, they aren't really in danger of "starvation mode". It is extremely easy to erase one's perceived deficit with estimate errors…

My mouth (stuffing it) and my butt (parking on it). And not necessarily in that order.

My son is 23 (and has a 5 month old baby). My middle daughter is 16 yrs old. My baby is 6 yrs old. So they are 7 years and 10 years apart. I thought I was done and was counting the years till they were out of the house when OOPS, along came another one. I love all my children, they shine in individual ways. The oldest has…

I'm a member of the YMCA. The cost is $73 a month for family (5 of us), discounted to $64 because my 1st grader utilizes the YMCA after-school program. This includes the daycare (w/big indoor climbing apparatus), weight room, all group classes (zumba, kickboxing, etc.), olympic size pool, sauna, hot tub, gymnasium,…
