I'm working towards simply not sweetening things. Eat them in their natural state unless they are specifically intended to be sweet (ie: desserts), then I eat regular sugar. I just try to indulge sparingly.

You can change your macro percentages. I think the default for protein is low, personally, so I put mine at 40c, 30f, 30p and it works MUCH better.

I did the same thing! Stopped smoking, started eating right, logging calories and working out. Lost 15 pounds and got a HECK of of a lot healthier. Now working on the last 15-20 pounds. Congrats and know that you have already shown that you have the willpower to do this! Stay strong!

Just FYI: Assuming you have a 3500 per week deficit, your 1 pound of fat doesn't disintegrate at exactly 7:05pm, on Tuesday of every week, for example. I highly recommend that you do exactly that. I generally eat no more than half of my exercise calories to compensate for naturally burned calories and errors in calculation. Works better for me (and many people).

Keep in mind that 80% of weight loss is due to diet. The biggest secrets for me were to weigh and measure everything (I'm not so good at portion sizes, apparently), log everything and only eat 1/2 of my exercise calories. Oh and no cheating. Stevia is not artificial, it's from the Stevia plant. That said, a lot of people complain about the aftertaste or "off" taste of it. THAT said, my extremely picky teenage daughter LOVES it and uses it instead of real sugar on everything (she's a sugar phreak which concerns me).

I don't know anything about Fatsecret, but MFP automatically calculates your deficit for you, based on the goals you entered. Usually, when I run, I do so after 10pm at night. It's cooler (in Florida) the kids are in bed and the streets are quieter. I own my neighborhood from 10-11pm :smokin: Come home, take a shower, get in bed with my kindle or a good show and bam! It's all over. Perfect way to end the day.

Everybody goes and adds their own :laugh: . One of the reasons the database is so large. You can mark the incorrect ones as wrong and/or edit to correct, if it bothers you.
